  • Lol I'm not mad or fed up, just simply wondering why are people hoping for it. XD But at least you don't sound like one or deep inside you want it so bad lolol.

Good night Spinda, don't let the Spinarak bite! :P
Why is everyone so eager for a Emerald remake when it's obvious that ain't happening? LOL
The fact that they added Delta Episodes, expanded Rayquaza's role and added (a few) Emerald references, it really screams impossible. Additionally a Blue, Yellow and a Crystal remake (in a sense) didn't happened too.

Though I'd like to note that Suicune sorta took ORAS' Rayquaza's route, albeit a smaller role not big enough for a Crystal Episode to happen.
Yep you can't return, which is odd. Though I think it's impossible to return to Southern Island in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald too. Yet it is possible to return to Navel Rock, iirc.
I wonder what happened to the unlockable locations and plot? They really should bring them back, the reactions for the unlockables (plots) were well received too. If there's anything that people don't like from the unlockables it was the limitations, back then DS Wi-Fi connections were outdated. Nowadays, 3DS has caught up to the latest Wi-Fi technology then supposedly that isn't a problem anymore. Not to mention they can also distribute events through Street Pass and Serial Codes (but codes require online connection for code verification).

I'd like to count Southern Island as an unlockable location, but nah it's inaccessible by any means. Y u no land there Lati@os?
The Navel Rock and Birth Rock count as new plots...? :o It's a hell yeah for new locations, but I don't recall there are additional plots with those two places, or have I missed something? :o
I kept on telling you that Pokemon Z is pointless if it is released after Volcanion. But I forgot the most important and plot relevant Pokemon: Eternal Floette.

Celebi and Arceus in Gen IV/Victini in BW have shown us it's possible to unlock new plots (albeit short ones). I think it's possible for them to take that route again, even though it's around 6 to 7 years ago since they last did that.

The in-game events for Meloetta, Keldeo, Genesect, Diancie, Hoopa and Volcanion in Gen V and Gen VI do not count, as they are too short.
I know Spinda, you already said so. :v Just speculating Shuffle, since there isn't much to speculate on Z version anymore. LOL Unless we're completely dragging ORAS plot to the Z version. XD
The alternative forms of Kyurem in Shuffle...
How do you fuse a Kyurem with Reshiram/Zekrom then? You stir two Shuffle sprites like Cooking Mama style? X'D
Hmm I didn't talk to anyone from Dendemille, after completing the Frost Cavern plot I left the town for good. Lol

Ya know, you kinda make it sound like those Illuminati conspiracies. :P But yeah, they can try to create a connection between AZ's empire with Team Flare. Iirc, you said that there's a major announcement on late-February, that can be GO's official release, Gen 6.5 or 7 Pokemon making its debut (think Munchlax, Chatot's initial appearance in the anime) or 'Z version' announcement.

Btw, I'm glad you reminded us that Giratina-O's Sugimori art came out later than its anime art. Is it a coincidence that they are following the same route as Giratina? They are both serpentine Pokemon, they are kinda the forgotten/unspoken deity, they also made their debut in an even number generation... Oh and Griseous Orb can be found in Terminus Cave, at that same level where you encounter Zygarde.
BTW, I just noticed that Gens 1 and 2 have now been split up into their own subforums like the later Gens. I like that a lot. Lumping them together while keeping all of the other Gens separate did nothing but make Gens 1 and 2 look like an afterthought. Hopefully, this will help activity in those subforums.
I would be comparable to the Gen 3 reboot, but hopefully better-planned.

The Gen 3 reboot was very unexpected, done only because of a lack of trading compatibility between the GB/C and GBA. Most people expected RS to continue in GSC's tradition and be another sequel that built upon the first two Gens. The Johto music and Cable Club dialog hidden in RS' data possibly indicate that the games may have very well originally been planned as GSC sequels.

Very few anticipated the hard reboot we got instead, and that alone turned a lot of older fans away from Pokémon during Gen 3. Even if the hardware necessitated it, it was way too soon to be rebooting Pokémon. The first two Gens were still well under a decade old at the time, and the older games (especially Crystal) were even still on store shelves by the time RS came out.

A hypothetical Gen 7 reboot would happen under different circumstances. First of all, it would be something that GF actually plans out instead of only doing because of hardware limitations, so the transition would go along much smoother than it did in Gen 3.

And, Gen 7 would be coming off of several long-distant Generations rather than only two still-recent ones. Even BW are more than half a decade old now, and all of the pre-XY games have pretty much vanished from store shelves now. Only XY and ORAS would really get cut short by a hard reboot, but let's face it, based on the games' lackluster sales and reception compared to RBY and GSC, there would be fewer complaints.

And, that brings me into my last point--The mindset of the fandom is way different in 2016 than it was in 2002. Enough time has now passed for many fans to have simply become tired of Pokémon and seeing the same formula repeated in every game over and over again, while the franchise wasn't even old enough yet for that to have happened in the early 00s.

(It also helps that GSC didn't repeat the same formula from RBY verbatim in the same way that all of the later games (especially DPP and XY) have been some variation on the formula from RSE--brand new isolated region, brand new Regional Dex focused on brand new Pokémon (many of which are obvious expies of older ones), opposite gender PC is a friendly rival you cannot name, Team ______ wants to use the Box Legendary to destroy the world, Champion is a friendly young adult character who first appears midway through the game to help you against Team ______, final showdown between you and Team ______ happens exactly between the 7th and 8th Gyms, post-E4 postgame revolves around a Battle Facility of some sort, and so on.)
I've been doing a mono Fairy in Pokemon Y and I reached Anistar.

We interpreted that as different group last year, but actually it can also mean Team Flare.
I cannot form a real competitive team yet, but I have trained around 10 Pokemon (which aren't limited to certain tiers), so we can have a friendly not-so-intense match. So our match should be simple: No legendary/Mythical kinds.
Spinda, I realized we've only trade but done nothing. We should battle someday or even challenge a Battle Frontier facility together if BF is returning sometime in the future.
If you ask me, I think now is the time for GF to just hit the reset button and wipe the slate clean. Not just storywise, but graphically and mechanically. At this point, it's hard for the games to feel completely fresh without actually having an 100% fresh start, and it's not like GF can really take the series anywhere else. Gen 6 broke the games' timeline, anyways.
Do you think that the main series is driving itself into the ground? Gen 6 has the worst sales of any Gen yet, and it seems like a lot of people have simply lost interest in Pokémon. For all of the pre-release hype that both XY and ORAS got, people seemed to get bored with the games incredibly fast. (The fact that ORAS literally made XY obsolete mechanically didn't help, either.)

Do you feel that the games have grown too stale and formulaic? I think Gen 7 would only benefit from breaking from past formulas. It's not like GF has much to lose by this point.
Back in Gen IV and V, I used my sibling's DS to evolve my Scyther.

It is slightly trickier in Gen VI games. Here's what you can do if you have no one to trade with for those Pokemon that evolve through trading, deposit a trade fodder on GTS request for a Scyther and you must quickly switch your game card to an another Gen VI game. Look for the exact trade fodder you deposited earlier on GTS with your second game card, after locating it trade your Scyther with Metal Coat attached to that game. Voila.

    - Try not to attempt it when the Wi-Fi connection is unstable or weak.
    - Always deposit the trade fodder and not the important Pokemon. Otherwise, people can snatch your Pokemon.
Ugh... I'm kind of hoping they just finally put the thing out of its misery, and with the way ratings have collapsed in Japan, that might just happen. At the very least, Ash should finally be retired as a main character.
It was a minor accidental mistake, if you trace back our previous convos, I can differentiate 'to' and 'too'. ;) But I must proofread my messages before sending them...

I rarely use my phone to browse the internet nowadays, since I have a laptop now. (: I'm also allowed to take and use my laptop at work, after I'm done with the tasks of course. :P

I will, I will. I'll try not to be harsh though. (:

While I'm not getting in the Gen re-release crowd, I'll be doing a Y Re-run using Kanto Pokemon and I'll be most likely using Pokemon that I haven't used before, Tauros and Scyther to be exact. It's a bit ironic that I only used a Scizor but not its pre-evolution form.
