Yes, everyone will know each other; I'm still undecided if my character will know everyone or not, but certainly the rest of you will be part of the same group of adventurers or mercenaries (as circumstance will dictate - it feels like the former is more appropriate).

Yes, definitely. ... Did I describe how long? I did! That was probably misleading, since my original intent was to make all forms of magic equal in relative strength. They should be almost instantaneous if the petitioner is trained and they're not specific, powerful requests. I'll add an amendment about how long they usually take, but that clause was really meant for inexperienced petitioners - for example, a common monk in the order attempting to petition for a large request will likely have it take quite a bit of time.

The legend you take means that you act as the incarnation of that initial role in this cycle of the story. You don't have to necessarily have similar abilities, though that is definitely a big possibility, and you get to determine the personality of your legend as it was initially as well, since it will be very similar to your character's personality.
