I understand very much how you feel. The more human population grows, the more we are cutting down on animal environments! Here in Australia we have some of the world's most amazing flora and fauna, many of which are endangered, and yet some people seem more than happy to wipe it out without a second thought!
I don't mean to sound like I'm generalising but I just get so worked up over these things!

And yeah, we are animals too. Human beings may perceive things on a higher level and are hugely innovative/adaptable, but does that mean we are lesser than all the other lifeforms on this planet? Does that justify treating them badly?

I don't know if you the heard news about the live export trade and its conditions? How a vet was dismissed because she took notice of the disgusting and cruel torture that those animals have to endure on board. >:(
