  • Haha, I believe you're one one only two Irish people I've met online, one of which lives in the USA anyway. Irl I've met equally as little outside of my own family, lol.

Ah, I see. Well I don't really see a major issue with that if he's good at what he really does. I'm surprised that you can't have a sports scholarship, though.

Ah I always try to improve myself at the things I'm good at in all honesty. Mainly because no-one really seems satisfied with what I do which can be discouraging at times but whatever. I actually do have slight ADD myself lol, but not badly. And yeah I get what you mean with the study routine thing which is why I like doing subjects with a lot of coursework and fewer single exams. That way, it's a lot of work, but it's not so repetitive.

Ah right, we don't have that at all lol. I'm not very good with any of those programs you mentioned but I'm pretty good with computers in general, and with programs like Photoshop or Logic. Is it a very major qualification over there?
Lol, I had an OMG YOU'RE IRISH??? moment in my head but that's because it's just unusual to meet other Irish people online. Or in real life for that matter. x)

Ah right, I think I see what you're getting at there. So basically they gave him a scholarship for something he wasn't actually that good at because they wanted him for something else? Or am I still way off here?

Art, music and sports are all I can do really. I'm pretty jealous of you for being able to do all the other stuff, lol.

Oh right, I see. Architecture was actually something I was considering for a while simply because I like the sound of it but I decided that it wasn't completely for me so I eventually gave it a miss. But I like computer-based work like that which isn't just spamming Word and stuff everywhere.
Yeah I've been getting that lately too, I might ask what's causing it. =/

Oh that's awesome man. I'm half Irish myself, and although I've always lived in England, my mother spoke with an Irish accent as she grew up there so I've got that off her. People always point it out irl, lol, as if I don't already know about it or something like that... ¬¬ I don't understand what you mean by "making you a scholarship". Can you elaborate on that a little please?

Haha, wow, I love art in general. That said, after a quick Google search, Technical Graphics doesn't sound all that great to me either, haha. What exactly does it involve? Like, 3D modelling and stuff?
I don't know how it goes in Holland, if I'm correct in thinking from you bio that this is where you live, but basically before you join a school you can have them assess you in certain subjects and if they think you're particularly good at them, they'll take some money off of your fees. My school is very generous with these so through three subjects I managed to get almost everything completely free! ^^

That's actually one of the things I was looking for but I'm not academic enough, so I thought that graphic design would be another good path for me. It can be advanced upon in several directions and used under so many different applications, so I'd like to do that as well as sound engineering.
Ah right, fair enough. I'm quite lucky really since I'm in a private school for free on scholarships, so I get the benefits from that without paying for them. We also have some pretty sweet photography equipment too.

A potential medicine student, wow! I'm in admiration. I'm nowhere near good enough to get into something like that but I've heard basically what you said, that it's incredibly hard to get into. Even better that you're versatile enough to consider music as a second option. I'm just the overly arty type, haha.

Worth a look mate. Idk if it'll be the same for you really since lots of different schools seem to handle it a bit differently, especially in different countries, but still. I'm hoping to become a sound engineer at some point so it's a great start as far as I'm concerned. ^^
Music tech is a bit of both really, but mainly the former. It's basically teaching how to record music and set up equipment, so you do need to do a little composition but it's mostly working with the electronics like DAWs and setting up venues and stuff. When school has some sort of music event on, for example, music tech students handle all of the speakers, mics, etc. It's a fun subject. ^^
I see what you mean, I think. I don't know if I've changed much :/ but then again, I was in my older teens when I joined. Don't worry, there are many good new members here now. BeachBoy hasn't been active for ages, though. Fun thing, I'm now modding the RP section. I have a memory of you trying to make me dare to post in RPs on pe2k ^^
We all fall back to this place, it seems. I'm glad to hear that you're doing well.
Me, I'm a bit stressed with studies and some other things... as usual. But I'll make do.
Fancy seeing you online, Oni ;) or maybe you've been but without me noticing. How's life treating you?
    P
What are you looking for? :/
