  • It's pretty much your typical love-it-or-hate-it shounen series, no recommendations here. I'm getting a three day weekend myself thanks to "Family Day." Happy early Independence Day! \o/ I love it when countries get their deserved freedom.
    A little bit of snow can be pretty, but too much would be dangerous. I tripped twice in one walk, if I haven't told you before; it was night and I was wearing tennis shoes, I believe. XD;
    One of the Super Moderators here, Went, finished the whole thing and was quite happy about it. Maybe he's a sadist? :3 I think a third season might be nice, though what I'm really hoping for is another adaptation of a Key series, since KyoAni have yet to fail with any of those.

    Oh, I'm really sorry I was mistaken. I thought that you said your birthday was the release of the Haruhi movie. Happy late Birthday, Perla! I also apologize that I don't have anything like that amazing birthday video you made me. ;;
    Ugh, I think I was still sort of into Naruto back then, but on my way to quitting. XD I totally know what you mean. There is a horde of anime I want to watch (Mushishi, Lucky Star, Gurren Lagann, ef, and Aria), but I have literally no time. x_x;
    I heard that Europe got it bad this year. I tripped on the ice twice so far this winter; luckily, boots fix the problem of slippery ice pretty well. :3
    Well...there is one person I know who liked it, but virtually everyone else was angry. While I wait for the movie....I'll do homework. And watch some anime. :v

    Wait...is your birthday on the 6th or the 16th?
    Oh, it's no problem. I don't mind if VMs come late; I come here to post mostly. ^^
    Well yeah, I guess I wasn't mature enough to realize the great aspects of CLANNAD back then; I was just 13, afterall. I also dropped Kanon and Lucky Star back then and went anime-less for a year. I still need to finish Lucky Star. @D@
    Oh, wow, must have been freezing. Were there snow and ice? We usually don't get cold days off where I am because it's cold most of the time anyways.
    I agree. What a terrible mistake by Kyoto Animation. The "Eight" was referring to August, not eight times of anything. -_-; Oy. The movie's coming out two weeks from now. Let's hope the subs are out soon.
    No problemo. 8D
    ...My goodness, I'm sorry I forgot to reply. >_>; Exams are coming up, and I was slightly busy.
    Yes they are. To many people from there, populations below 100,000 are unheard of. I actually gave up Clannad once two years ago, if I haven't told you (I forgot). I came back to it this summer from the beginning, and then it just struck me that it's the best anime ever. Tomoya is probably my favorite protagonist of any show.
    Oh nice pictures. :3
    Holidays ended for me long ago. :/ Can't wait until March break. 8D
    Me too. :3 Haruhi second season was a disappointment, and KyoAni hasn't released anything worthwhile to watch lately, so I'm looking forward to this movie.
    Link. A slideshow about the character Lithuania from Hetalia. :D A blonde guy that prominently features is Poland and the girl with long hair and bow is Belarus.
    In my opinion, those cities are relatively moderate compared to the metropolitan areas nearby (Toronto is near my current city, and its metropolitan population exceeds 5,000,000. Houston was close to me when I lived in the States, and its metro area has over 5,700,000). Ah, thanks for linking me. ^^ Clannad icon! :D
    I have plenty of free time (it will soon become "had" plenty of free time), so I often just sit and think. XD
    Eh, I'd have to say my childhood favorite is Pokemon (so original, I know xD;).
    Really? Haha. It's a pretty big anime, so subtitles might not be too far off from the actual release date. And no problem.
    My family lives in family housing of a university, so internet is pretty cheap (or at least compared to other services out there). I've met quite a few people who're from small towns on PC. I've lived in moderately large cities for most of my life (50,000 to 300,000 is the smallest and largest city populations I've been in). I see. Pitching...is that changing to pitch of the song (like making it sound higher or lower) to make it an original work? Can I see your channel?
    I don't remember much of '98 because it's been while since I used it. XD It was darn slow, though, from what I remember. I spend most of my time on the computer nowadays, but I've been trying to diversify my interests like drawing and reading philosophical works.
    I'm the same, but my standards have gotten higher as I got older. I used to like Zatch Bell, but now I just find it too immature and its plot uninteresting. And wow, what a coincidence. I'll be sure to wish you a happy birthday; you'll be one year older than I am. :P Remember what I told you (or I think I did): Watch the first, second, and last episodes of Endless Eight. Everything in the middle is worthless.
    Oh, well that's a shame. I hate those darn internet limits; my family uses the internet a lot, so we just get the biggest package available (often unlimited). Youtube suspended your account? Did you upload a lot of Pokemon stuff up there and not claim that the Pokemon Company had the rights? Hehe, well thanks ahead of time.
    I can still remember Windows 98; it was so horrid compared to what we have now. XD
    Eh, not so cool to my parents. XD; I'm not an interesting person in real life since nothing ever happens to me, so I mostly rely on historical events to make conversations; I'm not up to date on non-political current events.
    We're pretty much like the Portugal of Asia: the one nation of people whom avoided assimilation into the Chinese Empire, much like how Portugal did not merge with other Iberian states to form Spain. I see your preferences, though. :]
    And this just proves why I avoid Key titles made by TOEI in general...actually, I avoid TOEI totally and rely on Kyoto Animation (even though they've been disappointing me). Ah well, there's always Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya I can look forward to.
    I'm very easy to please, so this video was a lot.
    Have you tried downloading some of the episodes? If you ever do, can you tell me how fast is the speed?
    They say the last 20 years had more technological innovation than all of the years prior in human history combined. Quite frankly, I'm not too surprised if that is a correct assumption. Even I, a person of only 16 years, are talking about how technology was like "back in my days." XD And wow, really? I forgot what kind of technology I dreamed of when I was little. I only wanted to become either a Power Ranger or a Pokemon trainer, haha.
    Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying.
    How sweet, a legacy of fighting wars in your family. XD History is definitely one of my favorite subjects; I once planned to learn it in university until my parents forbid that I go into anything political. It's fine and dandy, though. I'm still amazed how many wars have been fought in total in Europe (just the fact that Sweden and Poland even fight each other is amazing, let alone the sheer numbers of bloody conflicts they've had, some including Lithuania in the fighting). Then again, it could be that Europe is just better at recording things. Lord knows I wish us Vietnamese had better record keeping; so much of our history is lost because of it.
    Yeah, that's what drives me away from shipping in general. I often only support canon ships (if I support any) in a series.
    Well, thank you for that. I'm easy to get angry, but on the flip-side, I'm also very easy to please. A simple "Happy Birthday" would have made me incredibly happy, but you went above and beyond. :D
    Animesuki only hosts subtitled anime episodes as far as I know, so you'll be fine. Of course, you'll have to deal with the fact that not many people out there still seed Akage no Anne's episodes. :<
    Oh, wow, that's good how your whole family now knows how to use the computer. CD-ROMs, huh? I can't believe that I'm saying "I remember that," since the CD-ROM is still relatively new technology compared to things like television and the microwave. Technology is moving so fast, even DVDs are becoming obscure. Zeek, huh? I haven't heard of it until now. What is that game about? And war games, huh? Hehe, do you know a lot about wars in Europe and history in general?
    I would imagine that it's a bit of a surprise. Pretty cool how you met her like that; I love good coincidences. I don't delve into shippings myself, but it's always fun to hear a nice, civil discussion about it.
    Happy New Year, PerlaNemesis! :D (by the way, you can just call me Jordan if you'd like)
    Thank you so much! I really, really loved that video you made for me. It was so sweet of you to do that much for someone like me; you're a great friend. :)
    Sadly, but I guess that means the subs will be out?
    Drawings are as unrealistic as movies on TV since they're both pixels. :/ And I just say what I think, it's no problem. So your mom taught you how to use the computer or something?
    I'm Vietnamese, and it's surprising to see that the internet has other Viets too. It's easy to find people from Canada, though. And wow, what a coincidence, eh? Knowing someone from somewhere else. Axis Powers Hetalia is pretty cool for its fanworks. (b'-')b It's one of those series where fanart actually is better than official art, since most official art are just sketches since it's originally a webcomic. Of course, the fans get crazy sometimes with shipping the countries, but it's alright. ;P
    Thanks again. :D
    No problem. It's been around for a while now, though it only hosts series that haven't been licensed for translation (I don't think Akage no Anne will ever get that treatment at this point, though). Mmhmm, it's awesome.
    Does he think it's too cute and unrealistic? XD Ah well, his close-mindedness doesn't hurt anybody except maybe the feelings of some hardcore fans that will probably never meet him. Your mom and grandma sound cool, though. Thumbs up to them (b'')b
    Lithuania? Awesome! I love meeting people from around the world, and you're the first Lithuanian (and the second person of Baltic descent) I've talked to. ^_^ I also love the character Lithuania from Axis Powers Hetalia. 8D
    Hmm? Isn't it hosted on animesuki anymore? Huh, I guess there just aren't enough people seeding it. I trust MyAnimeList to recommend me with good titles nowadays, since based on the stuff I've seen, their ratings are fairly accurate for series (ex. Naruto not getting a perfect score and After Story ranking as one of the best). Haha, what does your dad hate about it? Its cutesy style of art?
    I ended up being too lazy to enjoy myself again and not watching that movie. Maybe I will today or tomorrow. :D
    Happy Boxing Day! (Even if you don't live in one of the British Commonwealth states like Canada or Australia, haha).
    Merry Christmas to you too! :D
    Akage no Anne was probably my first anime was well, along with Future Boy Conan. I might watch them again sometime because I've forgotten most of the stories. Oy, the nostalgia.
    I think Clannad is the closest thing I'll ever get to a romance anime that I'll like. Oh, 5 centimeters per second, I've heard it's really good. Maybe I'll watch it too. It's great that your mom wants to watch an anime with you; I'm not sure how I'd feel about my parents watching anime with me myself, though, since it's a personal thing for me, hehe. I'm going to watch It's a Wonderful Life (an old movie, not an anime) today if I feel less lazy. \o/
    Wow, we are so in sync, eh? I usually add series based on a memory. Akage no Anne is an example; I watched that series as a child, and now I have somewhere to mark that I did indeed finish it. I can't remember which romance series I really liked (if any). And you're doing a good job of trying to get me to watch ef - a tale of memories. I'll definitely check it out when the time comes. Sounds like characters that I would be interested in.
    I just had a realization: Shaft (the company that produced Negima!? and Zetsubou Sensei, the anime of that screencap) took a jab at themselves in that screencap.
    Kyoto Animation just trumps so many others at what they do. It has even been parodied in Zetsubou Sensei with this screencap. They were talking about realizing things' potential, and used Negima as an example.
    I better watch it, then. :x
    Oh, nice catch for them. I've always prefer family themes to romantic storylines since the method that some use to pull of "romance" ends up far too gushy and unlikable. However, family is something I can definitely relate to. And that's one of the reason why I got a MyAnimeList account; I keep forgetting what I watched or what shows to watch. :P I know I can do it with a pen and paper, but this is so much cooler since it has details on the anime themselves.
    I sorta watched those series on a whim back then, to be honest. ^^; I was like many other kids of my age, watching action shounen anime and praising them like they were the greatest thing to have ever existed. Then, one very open-minded day, I decided to try Kanon. I haven't went back to action shounen anime since then. Then I watched Haruhi, Lucky Star, and Clannad, each one better than the last (although Lucky Star and Haruhi kinda ties, with the latter being a bit better). And wow, that sounds like a poor characterization that TOEI would typically do that Kyoto Animation would have known to avoid. And as for the death scene of Nagisa, I couldn't have been any more pleased than what KyoAni had done. I was in tears both times I saw it. I might come back to AIR once I've watched everything. However, it would be purely on the purpose of finishing it and see what all the fuss about the ending's about.

    Hehe, I tend to pick up series other people watch out of curiosity. I can see that some other people on MyAnimeList had made a recommendation for ef - a tale of memories for CLANNAD watchers, so that'll be another motivation for me.

    I'm just going at it two at once for now. Chances are, I won't finish everything I want to watch this Winter Break. ^^; And no problem. Thanks for accepting my invite. :D
    To be honest, I couldn't stand more than a couple of minutes of the TOEI made movies and TV series. I felt Tomoya was too much of a jerk to stand in the first moments of the movie and couldn't continue to put up with his attitude. And now that I know the Illusionary world isn't there, there's no reason for me to keep going. Kanon 2002, I could only watch the first five minutes of the first episode. I think I made a mistake of watching Kanon -> CLANNAD -> AIR in succession. Clannad was too much of a treat and AIR didn't manage to put in an emotional impact. I stopped at episode 8.
    I checked Euforia on MyAnimeList when I heard you mention it, so I know it's the second season's OP. Thanks for the upload. :D And yes, that is Akari.
    I might check out ef - a tale of melodies someday, but probably in the realm of next summer since I still have a ton of things to watch over this winter break. I haven't gotten to any movies I planned to watch, either.

    Alright, I sent you an invite. :D
    Ah, it's not a problem at all. I love talking about Kyoto Animation anime. :D

    I agree. Kanon 2006 was great, but I don't particularly like the Key titles that Toei animation has adapted (i.e. AIR Movie, Clannad movie, and Kanon 2002). It just seems Kyoto makes more of an effort to polishing them. The ARIA series has great music all around from what I've heard, and I'm ready to declare it on par with the Kyoto Animation series. Euforia's the OP to the second season, right? I haven't heard it before, but I will now. Zetsubou Sensei is apparently pretty popular, but I don't see a lot of fans around here. Just me and two friends.

    Ah, thanks. ^^ I kinda have a guilt complex of sort, so I just had to ask. Would you mind if I add you as a friend on here?
    Hehe, no problem at all. I haven't seen another person who liked Kanon or even watched it in a long time.
    Yep, yep, I watched Lucky Star. It's pretty funny, but you have to know a bit about Japanese culture and anime in general to get the references at times (not too big of a deal, though, since I watched it when I was 13 and didn't know much about Japanese culture at all). It starts off incredibly slowly, but picks up the pace in the middle episodes (say, 5 and up).

    I'm watching Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and it's pretty darn hilarious, but a bit on the mature side. Other than that, I'm watching ARIA the Animation (hence the theme); it's relaxing like Kanon and Clannad, but I'm not sure about the emotional appeal yet, since I've only been into four episodes. The OP song is absolutely amazing. I'm not sure if you watched either of these series, but just thought you'd like to know. ^^;

    I'm not being a bother by giving you all these messages to read, am I?
    From what I've seen, K-ON! isn't worth touching aside from the music. The second season of Haruhi features an episode repeated in the exact same fashion 8 times with minor changes here and there (joy); self-dubbed as Endless Eight. I was lucky to have been unable to watch Haruhi in those weeks. If you're going to watch the second season, when Endless Eight comes, watch the first two and the last, skip everything in the middle. The rest of the season was pretty cool, but doesn't match up with the first. The movie's something to look forward to, though.
    Eh, sorry, but the only remotely close thing I can come up with is Kanon which takes place in the winter. ^^;
