  • Still, the art style is too drastic. Also, there's been a notable lack of battling, meaning they have "nerfed" Ash and Pikachu in a way, but not the way everyone expected.

It's like they wanted to keep the competent battle skills, but also make Ash not look as strong by having much less battling involved.
    Some bad news.

I decided to quit Serebii Forums because the anime section was so heated. My disinterest in the Sun & Moon anime has caused to be constantly targeted for failing to recognise its positive aspects, which I feel this saga doesn't have at all (and even if it did have positive aspects, there isn't a lot) since the art style and nerfing to Ash's personality has all but blacked out my mind, causing me to bash those aspects constantly.

If you go into Serebii's anime section, literally everyone posting there acts as a defender of the Sun & Moon anime and will attack anyone who even shows disinterest or trying to point out its flaws. Those losers love to make sure Sun & Moon is recognised as the perfect series of the anime, which is so sad.
I'm not speaking about Soleil... i'm talking about Effie, Saizo, Beruka, the memefication of Hisame, The butchering of Laslow and Luna, and the removal of the darker themes of the story that delved deeper into the politics of the world of Fates.

there's just so much to cover here, the game's is great don't get me wrong. It probably has one of the best designed maps aesthetically and gameplay wise. But the complete gutting of the game is what I'm againts. Removal of skinship I'm cool with that its fine, removing alcohol and religious objects that's ok with me too I'm used to it nintendo does that a lot... but removing pivotal plot themes and elements, heavily altering character personalities, removing support conversations, memefying dialogue...

The Gregor one is fine (8 - 4 did the localization of that game) he was a generic warrior and turned him into someone enjoyable... with an accent too.

But Effie is different... In IF - Elfie is a shy woman whom despite her best efforts only has one gift, her super human strength. In Fates Effie is a dumb muscle head who only eats in half of her support conversations with every character, She even states how strong she is in every support conversation as well come on... She went from Someone who wants to help Elise the only way she can despite her personality. Too a food loving idiot who only follows Elise because their friends. Who's the more interesting character there?

Look as far as I'm concerned Fates should've been handled by 8 - 4... the tree house isn't a good division for translating RPG's with adult themes. They should've stuck to their forte platformers and action games that's rated for everyone.
It's completely baseless... Anime never had any wide spread exposure in the west in the early 90's. So CD/DVD sales where almost non existent unless you where studio Gibli who had mainstream appeal. When Anime exploded in the late 90's and early 2000's conventions and retailers sold tons of DVD's of Anime, that's the only time I could think that the west finally made an impact in Anime revenue.

Anime itself is self sufficient it can exist in japan on its own. With the slow change to digital animation over traditional. Making shows will only become cheaper without much any drop in quality. Anime is never going to die...

This hysteria is more of westerners miss interpreting or completely misunderstanding, quotes and statements from the anime media in japan. This was not the first time this happened and casual fans who don't know anything other than the anime they watch, makes a stupid baseless opinion and other casual fans flock to it.

Westerners can't really wrap their heads on the idea of most anime(Since most anime are addapted from VN's, LN's, and Manga) are just adverts for their source material. Most studio's or creators only want 1 season of anime because the show becomes one huge commercial for the source material. Look at OPM's manga explode in popularity. Now some studios only have 1 season deals (Look at log horizon changing anime studios after season 1). Even if the show is successful and popular it doesn't matter if its getting a new season or not. Its up to the creators and how much money their going to throw at the studio's... not to mention most studio's have tight schedules so it's hard to produce a new season of an old show if it wasn't part of their scheduled workload. If we always get a season 2 of a show more directors would die.

This is Hysteria nothing more nothing less... freaking casuals...
I tend to blame it on Yo-Kai Watch because it popularized slapstick anime in Japan and made me start to feel extremely concerned that Japanese kids only like it because of their short attention spans, and if more shows keep catering to that genre then serious themes in anime and manga will become nothing but a "thing of the past".

Teen Titans Go! is a show I don't watch a lot but I do hear all the complaints directed at it and of course why it clogs up Cartoon Network's schedule (which again, causes complaints from fandoms of other CN shows).
It's mainly because the SM anime reminds me way too much of Yo-Kai Watch, an anime that popularized slapstick in Japan and makes me worry that they don't like serious plots in anime. That's why I have all those salty feelings, along with Ash looking too derpy. He now looks like he belongs in a meme with all that slapstick he's becoming victim of.
    I
I don't see anything wrong with it. Feel free to post it!
It is odd, but maybe it's because her tomboy aspect is being focused, and what better way to show it than recognizing the most masculine Unova starter as her supposed canon starter?
As far as I'm concerned, Tepig was the starter she was most associated with (her Pokemon Adventures counterpart White had a female Tepig named Gigi) so it made sense. I think a lot of Hilda's depictions in fanart showed her with Tepig as well.

The Rosa figure having Snivy makes sense, since Rosa did have a Serperior in the animated B2/W2 trailer. Nate was shown with Emboar in that same trailer, plus if you choose Tepig while playing as Nate, the battle against the Subway Bosses in Nimbasa City had Rosa using a Servine. You can clearly tell the Snivy line is pretty much her canonical starter when you think about it.
I haven't heard of her. I dont believe in psychics, nor am I very interested.

    Has she gotten anything wrong?

What do the scientific models say for when polar ice caps will be melted by?

    ....ya I'm pretty skeptic. you?
Yep, it appears so. We're looking down the longest airdate gap between Japanese airdates and dubbed episodes at the start of a new region's saga.
