  • I might not battle you again, only because
    1. You kind of know how I play
    2. You are elite four, so battle you 3 times will well... be a little unfun on my side since I cannot switch any pokemons. It makes me feel I want to have a revange or you want to have revenge xDD
3.Kind of want to battle different leaders to make it more fun.
Yeah, you did the right call for weakness policy. Apparently, everyone is talking about my sableye XD. it was a really good call actually. I was wondering if I should of thunder punch or earthquake or Dragon Dance. Tough decision, then when we reach to gastrodoon moment I was shaking so hard you can't even imagine XD
I didn't expect you to have lum berry. Or my sableye wouldn't be dead. Then , when dragonite die I was oh no Gg for me and that dragegsge was unexpected. I was trying to burn you the whole time and you burn me on the first try
I'd like my symbol to be called the Eminence Symbol. If you could edit it in, that'd be great. :)
Yo Polar :) I'm wondering if I have to make Blueboi's badge (I've checked the thread and saw his attempt) his badge is the one that's currently being made, so if he wishes to make his own badge I'm fine with it. :3
It doesn't convert them though, I'm guessing. For instance, my understanding (assuming not Pokérus) is that the Power Weight will add 4 HP EVs to a battle, making Audino worth 6 EVs (using as an example), but using a Power Bracer, let's say, will generate 2 HP (for the Audino) and 4 Attack EVs. Is this correct?

Naturally, using a Power item, it means a +20 bonus on every horde. So if the horde is +2 itself, you can get a +30, and I see where your 60 comes from now with Pokérus.
Oh, the power items affect EVs? That I did not know. I don't think I have any of them yet, and wasn't worried about them because of the ease of EV breeding now and not having to necessarily guarantee an EV is passed. So there, I learned something today. :)

Without Power items, I still can't do more than 20 or 30. But except for cases where a small amount is needed ("hey, give it 12 EVs, y'know?"), it might be a good usage.
You do raise one good point on horde battles: I am not using Pokérus. {XD} I can see how one would bring out 30 right there, and in the case of 60 how five encounters maxes you out in a hurry. However, it's just a blanket 30, so if you want to have a slight spread (say 16 Speed), you still have to accuracy put that in place. Also, you don't see the number of EVs gained in every battle, so there is still some guesswork involved.

As for how you are getting to 60 in one encounter...there is no O-Power for EVs, so am I missing something? Pokérus doubles; on five, that's 3x5x2=30.
My own playstyle? Hell, I don't even know my own playstyle yet. Remember what I said about being a battling novice before joining this? I'm still developing my playing style. I know how to whallop things in-game, and I tend to be an attacker, but an finding after the battle with you that the all-out attack strategy doesn't always work. Sure, I could lead with Mega Tyranitar and set up with a Dragon Dance, then smash something...then another Dragon Dance, and smash again...but that doesn't always work. Especially against something it's not strong against. So I have to think of a way to build status into the all-out attack. Stealth Rock/Spikes control? Healing moves? Build defensive bulk and chip away while staying on my feet? I have no idea yet what my style is, and I'm going to have to work at that.

Of course, if you want to help me with figuring that out and suggest movesets to try after a few League battles, I'm all ears. I can always breed a new one or use EV berries to drain all the EVs (or even a Perilous Soup, obviously that's quicker). The plus will be having it already evolved so any soccer games are quick, or I can try hordes once I figure out which hordes to go after for the EVs (I should make a Google document for that). I know you like hordes, but unless the species drops 3 in a stat, 12-EV soccer games are much faster and not reliant on a certain horde appearing.
Oh, I only look at it for EV guides. I mean, I have a general idea, but sometimes there's something there that makes more sense. Also, keep in mind I'm still an online battling novice, so I've never really built a good Pokémon before. This is my first attempt trying that.

Also, every move set I have differs from theirs. I just use them for ideas.

I didn't even notice it was Smogon.

And yeah, I was considering the Foul Play idea against the right opponent. Mandibuzz has weak attack, after all. But I will be looking at quick kill possibilities too and will try the Rocky Helmet. I just like the Leftovers idea too, and considered Leftovers before ever looking at that.
As for EVs, I just do the soccer. It works for me. I don't accidentally forget to jot down a battle or two that way, and I can count how many times I've done the soccer over by the number of Training Bags I have. Sure, you can count PP too, but occasionally a move might miss and screw up the count.
