Oh? Here, it's not really too bad. Most "adult" movies are rated 15 (ironically) here, and the limit for cigarettes and drinking alcohol is 18. Basically, you're considered an adult when you're 18. Video games like Grand Theft Auto are 18, too, which is annoying, but other than that it's relatively ok.
Oh, I understood there wasn't a dinner in a Prom night, I just meant that people here spent hundreds on their clothes and such, and that there was dancing involved, which is similar to my understanding of a Prom night. Sorry, I was unclear:D.
Anyway, we haven't been told the alternative yet. Our Prefects (=Class President, I think, or pretty similar) were given the job to decide (there's 4 classes in my year, ergo there're 4 prefects). To be honest, no one really cares, it just gives people the incentive to have a house party. And there will be parties, lol.
No, I'm not picky about what job I'll have (undoubtedly it'll be in a supermarket somewhere), as long as I can get a reasonable amount of money over the year).
Nope, I've done very little thinking on my future, tbh x3. I would like to try Games Development, Software Design and Music Technology (there's actually a package-course dealie with all three, lol). Not really because of my Rom hacking hobby, but because I'd genuinely like to try it. (I mean if they ask if I've any experience, I can't just say "I illegally hacked a Pokemon GBA game!", can I? Lol).

Not any based on religion, just general discussion places. Unsurprisingly religion threads are brought up more often than not, which usually consists of 90% of the people supporting religion: "lolol atheism is for angsty teenagers that want to rebel."

Yeah, they're pretty cool about it. Mostly because half of them didn't know until last year, they just think its funny, lol. I'm pretty mature for my age, more mature than several of my friends, so that helps. (it always feels arrogant to call oneself mature, lol, sorry if I come off that way).
Oh, our Graduation system is different, it's kinda the same as a Prom night in America? The students and their families all have dinner and then then the Certificates are given out (to everyone, I might add) and then they put on music and stuff. Although last year, all the students left after the certificate part, and the Teachers' feelings were hurt, so now we don't get a grad. (we get some half-assed alternative..)
Yeah, I'd like to try and get work for next year. I'm not really looking forward to it (I mean the searching part, not the working part:)), but I need the money and I wont be doing anything else, lol.

Yeah, you have to get a mentor who will teach you about a chosen topic you have not learned. I.E. Playing Guitar, Building Something, Writing etc.

You have to write a paper about your topic, along with some community service you have to do and you're required to record a set amount of hours you spend with your mentor learning. It's pretty big, that's why we have a whole semester to do it, lol.

Ja, I'm 16. My birthday is early september, so when we lived in Canada (where you start school at 4), i'd just turned 4 and then instead of waiting a year just went straight to Kindergarten. Now, I'm 16 in my final year of Secondary school while my friends (in my year) are 17, 3 of them 18, and one of them 19 (but he did a year again or.. I don't really know, but I suffer through maths with him and he's a childhood drama-class friend, lol). When the first 18 yr old had his party, I was still 15 (my first alcoholic experience, lol. I felt IRISH:D) I'm the youngest in the school year, out of 90 or so students.

Thanks, regarding the music. Professional is something that would be SAVAGE (Savage: a word commonly used by Irish folk to express delight or glee when something is wicked or awesome). Lol, Kai knows, now you do, so we can all say Savage when stuff = Win, haha. :) you can look, but for the sake of your mental well being do not absorb the atrocities, lmao. I made half of them without a sound card (ie, I was a deaf-DJ). I could explain, but all you need to know is that it was ridiculously difficult, and I'll be more careful with my sound card from now on:P
Oh, Advance Placement, I understand. Inorite, it's kinda something similar for Higher Level- it's harder, longer, and generally more annoying- yet since we are in Higher Level, we're expected to be great at it? I mean.. If we're in Higher Level, we'd find the Ordinary Level easy, duh. But it amazes me that they genuinely think you should find Higher Level easy if you're in it. Idiots -_-
So, what are you doing about now, do you want to go to college or are you working, or just taking it easy for a while? :) (that's what I have to do for next year, Colleges wont take me this young x3).
