My first time going into the friend safari I found a shiny Kakuna as soon as I stepped into the grass. That's my only one on this game so far. I might try the Masuda Method later this week if I can come across a foreign Poke on Wonder Trade.

Back when the game first came out I sent out starters that i hatched. Now I send out 3-4iv Pokes that I bred but don't need.

Update 1 on Silver Started with Kate the Cyndaquil. Beat both Violet city and Azalea town gyms. Cyndaquil evolved into Quilava. Made my way to Goldenrod. Captured Nigel the Drowzee on Route 34. In Goldenrod i bought Jessica the Sandshrew. Beat Whitney. Nigel and Jessica both evolved. Beat Morty...
