Yeah, they tend to do that. It really depends on the reception they get, In my opinion. Shaman King probably wasn't doing too well, so they decided to completely change it. Or maybe they just planned it to be different from the start. /shrugs

I personally love Cartoon Network, even though I don't have it. xDD;;

It's not just the english dub, actually. The Shaman King anime isn't too accurate to the manga. It's about half the length of the manga and it has a different ending. xDD;;

No Anime DVD sets? Really? That's kinda surprising. :O

Yeah, I mean an actual game. It's a series of video games. So it's essentially a game based on someone playing a game. Which is a pretty funny concept. xD;

Well, yeah. The original content is usually intact. For example, animes like Shaman King and Zatch Bell got alot of content cut out, to make them completely kid friendly. The music that's not licensed in the show is usually also replaced. The voice acting is mostly done better as well.
Though, there are some dubs that are completely fine to watch. Dubs from Funimation, Bang Zoom Entertainment, and certain other companies have pretty good dubbing.
Dubbing done by 4Kids and some Viz dubs usually turn out not so great.

Yeah, it's a slow show. It's really charming, though. xD;
The characters are also really likable, once you get into the show.

For me, it really depends. If the show interests me, I keep watching. If I feel it's dry, or just not my thing, I drop it.

The anime of Shaman King actually toned down alot of the violence and such.
For example, Iron Maiden Jeanne had Spikes in there instead of Vines.
Yes! You should! Though, as I've mentioned, the last season actually wasn't dubbed, disappointingly. So you might have to watch it in Japanese with subtitles. The voice acting in Zatch Bell is better in Japanese, anyway. xDD;;

Hmm, something crazier? Well, Konjiki no Gash Bell is pretty crazy, and it's also one of my favoured animes of all time. I'm guessing you watch english dubs, so if you're looking for that, try searching "Zatch Bell".
