I've been busy working for most of that.

The Japanese companies don't seem to realize just how expensive it is to dub and market a series, even before the licensing costs. FUNi is a dubbing machine, but it's not that successful that it can turn any series into a bestseller, or at least profitable.

EDIT: Even a cheap $20 modern headset could eliminate most of the static they have in their videos.

I suppose that is true. But I found DGM Abridged funny even though I've only read the first volume or two.

Well, the fans doing abridged series don't have to worry about whether a series is commercially viable or not, while the licensing companies do! That and Bandai Entertainment did completely halt any new releases from it back in February since it had become an unprofitable venture to the point where they were hemorrhaging money. Funimation seems to unfortunately be the only one with any real staying power left, which is bad because they may not have any desire to pay another licensing company extra to get any of their licenses. :x

If you buy the right brand of computer headset, most of the static I hear in these series goes away, especially if it's a newer one.

Well, some of them don't even have any relevance to the actual series. I suppose most of them are self-deferential to both NTAS and Negima!, though.

I've noticed. And I'm still like that since my own return and it's frustrating. :|

And Joshua's VA should have stayed with short reaction quips from TWEWY. Hearing him speak actual sentences in this character just doesn't fit.

It was pretty interesting!

There are too many pretty good Abridged Series out there nowadays. Not enough time to watch them all and still satisfy my other interests!

I've noticed the audio quality on a lot of them seems to be lacking, though, which is disappointing. The fact that the audio was so clean is what caught me off guard about my own personal favorite Abridged Series, Negima The Abridged Series, though. Well, at least the one that is posted on KazumiSexyChannel on YouTube. DGM Abridged is actually pretty high quality audio, too.


NTAS is apparently so highly regarded and trope/gag-filled that is has its own TVTropes page! :o
