    Game maker pokemon engine?

I completed one for GM8.1 but it's private. I suggest that if you're going to do this, then code it with the newly released GM:Studio! That means you can export to HTML5, Android, iOS etc etc. It'll make your project far more attractive. Also, I wouldn't get too hung-up on trying to implement...

    Pokemon Darkstone

Some C&C: -- Try not to mix generations / styles of tiles. They stick out like a sore thumb and make your game look less impressive. -- If you're going to take screenshots, save them as .PNG so that they are saved in their original quality. -- Some of your lighting effects are incredibly...

    [Discussion] Pokemon Takedown Notice Questions

You're most likely going to get a cease and desist letter at some stage in development if you're making any kind of Pokemon game with online capability. I remember reading a letter (I think it was a separate one to the one Neo is referring) from Nintendo implying that although they have the...

    Pokémon: Pristine Version

Yoel might be using his 3D modelling software to make the tiles, but, in the end, they are TILES. They aren't inserted into the game as models. They could overlap if the perspective changed as you walk round them; but it doesn't and hence the tiles shouldn't overlap.

    Pokémon: Pristine Version

The new colour-scheme is much better. I'm still unsure about the tree tile.. If you're going to use that tree, then make sure the trees don't overlap (they only overlap in HGSS because they are 3Dmodels); in 2D tiles they shouldn't really overlap. Also, the revised heroine is good.

It looks awesome Yoel :3. Not sure I'm fond of the tree tile you've picked but that's maybe just me.

[Official] Game Development Monthly - Issue No.1

In an attempt to get this topic back on track... I think it's a good start & I like the CSS layout a lot -- makes it easy to read. The writing style of the articles would benefit from being less conversational: I think that style is more appropriate for the interviews (obviously) and possibly...

[Other Tutorial] So You Want to Make a Game...

True to an extent I suppose. There are better programs for 3D, but GM isn't nearly as bad at 3D as it used to be lol.

[Other Tutorial] So You Want to Make a Game...

I thought I would contribute something to help this guide since it looks good & will hopefully improve the quality of projects. Which game-creation software is right for you? This is, obviously, an important question to consider. To answer it, you must think about what kind of project or...

I haven't posted anything on here in a while so here are some screenies from my new, non-pokemon related project: Credits go to Kymotonian, Pokemon-Diamond and HellopeopleoftheUS (from dA).

[Discussion] Why do all new Developers Rush

I'm a believer in getting the right balance: there's no point in releasing an alpha/beta/demo (whatever you wish to call it) if there is nothing new or anything worth seeing. At the same time, there is a certain pressure game developers can feel to try and keep their potential audience...

    Monokid

You're welcome ^.^, I'm always happy to support original games! Besides, I love the style you are developing for Monokid; it's very cute :3. I assume it'll be a platform game, if so, I can give you a good engine to get you started.

[Discussion] What do you want to see in Game Dev?

I agree with Niknaks, a restructuring and de-nesting would make things clearer. Also, if anything, I think the requirements for posting in the showcase forum should probably be raised. Imo, there are some projects there which are a little substandard and should be kept in the beginner's...

    Pokémon: The Fifth Pillar

Very promising project. I think Benevolunt is a good fakemon & your pokedex has a good range of types. You will find the battle mechanics of some of your custom attacks very unbalanced (i.e. a 75% accurate freeze move and a 90% accurate sleep move) though.
