  • I last read it when I was 10. I had an insanely good memory back then. Now my chapters are falling apart due to poor storage methods. :(

That ridiculousity is why I think it's highly underrated. :D
Aw well, still, being lazy can be really nice sometimes. x)

Well, perhaps you could change that I guess. No reason not to message them back unless they're being creepers after all.

Yeah, I know. I moan about it regularly lol. Well, the day students stay behind after all lessons and sports and whatever finish for about another hour in case they need to catch up with teachers or do some homework. Boarders can just do what they like at this point, because they can see the teachers more or less any time they want to.

Oh right, fair enough then. I don't think I'll ever even get round to learning to drive, it's much too expensive really and I'm adept enough with public transport by now to not mind. x) Shame people can't feel safe out at night anymore, although it's sensible I suppose. =/

    Whoop~
WEL HALO THAR STOP I AM JUST POPPING IN TO SAY HELLO STOP HOW DID LAPTOP HUNTING GO STOP TEXT ME LATER STOP

    MESSAGE ENDS.
Oh, don't worry about that. Real life is always more important than the internet anyway, imo. ^^

With all the moving around you do, I would be very surprised if a real friend jumped to the conclusion that you hated them just because it's hard to keep in touch. I'm sure they'd understand.

The teachers are meant to be tightening up a bit because it looks bad on the school but really they don't care all that much because they know that they won't get in any real trouble, lol. Yeah, uniforms are just uncomfortable as hell. The boarders have it easy too; we can get changed as soon as lessons are finished, but the day students have to wait until they get home which, due to the weird way in which my school organises its timetable, is several hours later. =/

That's the thing with work, though. It will end up taking up most of your time. But it's a shame that there's no-one around anymore to meet up with. I sometimes feel the same, wanting to see people outside of school but it being really awkward because of distance and stuff. ¬¬ And that's probably sensible tbh. Have you never learned to drive?

Also, do you use Msn? /blatant stalker
Aw well. I'm sure you've met plenty of amazing people over the years. And you have your online friends too which is nice.

Heh, generally it'll be the boarders who push the uniform rules further because they know the teachers more personally and have the stuff on-site rather than at home. Sometimes if music is my last lesson then I decide I can't be bothered with uniform anymore and just get changed into completely normal clothes for the lesson, haha.

Eh, I consider anyone I like talking to to be interesting I suppose, so you fall into that category in my book. ^^ What's so monotonous about it?
Huh, that sucks pretty bad although it's nice that you still have the one friend. I've been through a few schools and due to the location of my current one it's been hard for me to grow up with any friends, although I've made quite a few new ones.

Lol I wear hoodies in school quite a lot actually. The music and sports staff really couldn't care less so that makes it a bit more comfortable. x)

Well, you shouldn't be sad about being an interesting person imo, especially given the number of people I've spoken to who would give anything to have something about themselves to say to someone. Assuming you mean that you feel bad about talking about yourself a lot, that is.
Aw, that's pretty unfortunate I guess. I suppose it has the positive of meeting a lot of new people but just not for long. I don't know if I'd like that at all tbh. Especially since I deactivated my facebook a long time ago, haha.

I noticed the other day that in my school's library there is a poster advertising hoodies which we aren't meant to wear in school. That amused me a little.

Nah, it's interesting to hear about someone else imo. I tend to talk about me a fair bit until you get into personal stuff and then I become really reserved. And then when I know someone well enough to stop being reserved they'll never hear the end of it lol.
Wow, I can't imagine moving around that much. I was out of the house for a couple of months when I was younger because we had to move somewhere else just for a short while for various reasons but otherwise we haven't moved much. You might get jealous but I'm so sick of it sometimes, haha.

The only think I like about them is that they remove the pressure of dressing well if you all look mostly the same anyway. But I like to adapt uniforms a little bit, which is allowed, to make it more personal at the same time if you get what I mean and it works really well. (=

Haha well, that's a great thing imo. One of the best conversational skills you can ever have, I think, is the ability to give a decent reply. That way, the other person does a lot of the talking too and we all know how people like to talk about themselves, at least on a basic level. x)
Yeah ikr. It's so modern and everything. As for moving houses, outside of school I've always lived in the same house until now but I'm about to move in with my aunt which will be a pretty odd situation, getting used to the new surroundings and stuff.

Most, if not all, schools here require uniforms until 16 and even then a lot of them continue after that. I always found the idea of Americans not needing them completely alien, haha.

Well not literally but you seem an interesting enough person, even if that's just because you can think of something substantial to say in reply to pretty much everything I've said so far. (=
They'll probably do it over the summer holidays, but if I remember correctly they plan to move the people from them into the new accommodation which is much, much nicer. I'd like to live in that.

Ikr. Education was hit so hard; there's a student fund (pre-uni) called EMA which basically provides students in low-income families with either £10, £20 or £30 a week to help them keep on in their education and stuff. They went and removed that too which is beyond irritating. I was in the £30 section and although education is free for me I still have to use quite a bit of it on other things like stationary, uniform, books, etc. It'll be a lot harder without it. ¬¬

Also I was stalking you and I found a twitter and my finger slipped and I might now be obsessed with you just saying.
Maybe I'm just being slow then... -_-

I agree that putting ANOTHER sticky is less than desirable. Maybe blogging that POTW is open? I'm guessing a well-timed advertising post could bring in the numbers.
I think it's a mix of both. School have been aware of that for months maybe years, though, and never fixed it. =/

Oh right, what job are you doing? And yeah the university situation in England exploded recently as the government saw it appropriate to make 80% funding cuts to them. No exaggeration there whatsoever. =/
That was the situation, yes, and I went for the far away one. It's still hard to tell how it would have come out had I gone for the closer one but I'm alright as I am, so I don't need to know really.

They get quite cold but otherwise they're sort of comfortable but they have some serious hot water issues. As it turns out the boiler to them dies around 30 minutes after the end of the school day so showers become rather awkward. Fortunately I don't have to live in them, haha.

Judging by your age, would it be safe to assume you're in college / university or looking for a job / employed?
What I mean is just a new thread each week, that'll get unstickied/deleted upon voting closure. I didn't know voting had started because you just edited the thread without drawing attention to it (i.e. it wasn't bold again, so I didn't think anything had changed). Just a suggestion, though.
Yeah, basically that. For a university I'd consider making it although I'd rather live on campus in that case. Out of complete choice yes, I would have preferred to have gone to a closer state school, but there weren't many I really liked since the primary school I came out of which had a secondary sector was a very, very rough place. I managed to get into the school I'm in now for free though, and it's good at the subjects I'm studying so it's all good. Mum also wanted to live a more, for lack of a better word, singular life so it suited her too.

Yeah I really would, but they haven't done anything about it in years. It's some of the accommodation that's a worry really; although they are working on new boarding facilities, some people have spent years living in literally large sheds.
