Well, the game had just been sitting in my computer's disk drive, and when I checked the author's hack page, it hasn't been updated in over a year. I plan to contact and tell him about the fix (though it would probably be pointless)

So what's been new lately? I see you have attained Admin status now, that's pretty awesome! I'm looking to get back into ROM hacking; Le pug helped me fix a glitch on a copy of Emerald that I had been practicing on over at the Beginner's Lounge, though I found out that it was not a clean ROM, so it turned out that I was working on someone's hack xD
