  • I hoped that worked for you, as for me, It was so nice sleeping in on the first day I've had off in a couple of weeks. I am so glad I switched jobs. I actually have a set schedule now too.
LMAO, I may have to check it out before I head off to bed. You know its time for bed when you start falling alseep at that comptuer. XD
Oh god, So am I, well at least until I get to know somebody, then I usually don't shut up. lol

writers, uh yeah. I haven't posted anything I have written in like a year, and what I have written I usually get a couple of pages out and then think, "This fic is stupid" and stop writing it, or I lose interest.

I'm still thinking about trying to write a fic with the Pokemon POV, I want to make if a tragedy, I think I have a little bit of sadism too. :nervous:
    I voted twice just now.

And if you think about it, we're all ****ed up in the head a little, some a little more than others. XD (me included.)
No, it was about the last PM, well, I don't remember saying I liked it, maybe I did, I'm really tired right now. I do remember saying that I though it was interesting.

lolz, I go rate your fic again. (5 star)
-creeps up behind and delivers chocolate with a note that reads 'O hi thar, we should chat, yes, perhaps, possibly?'-

    o3o

    -creeps away-

...XD to be a hair more serious, hi. I'm a Mika. I...am not very good at starting these conversations but you seem amazing. o3o
It's alright. I wasn't really bothered by how you reacted so much. There was an obvious disconnect in how we were communicating. I equated the hard work to advertise a fic as inherent to it's quality and you didn't see it that way. That's why I was so focused on getting out that you have to advertise and that the good fics do get noticed if they get pushed the right way.

No, the thing that bothers me is what Astinus was saying and is probably still saying. It's completely inappropriate for a moderator to talk like that about a user especially right out here in the open. I hate this message:

"He better not bring it up elsewhere. But I'll keep a watch on things to make sure that the wanky drama doesn't go elsewhere."

because it's not like I came out of nowhere to make a big dramatic fight with the intent to pursue it til it was done. I stopped the discussion as soon as it was closed and it shocked me to the core that you three were still going on about it. You guys obviously "won" the argument in that a moderator backed you, let you get out what you had to say, and then closed the thread after inserting a biased opinion into the final post.

But whatever that's besides the point and I appreciated your apology and I accept it. And I send back my own apologies because we were almost talking in different tongues during the thread. I swear to you honestly I had no idea I was "averting" the point of your posts and "dancing around" and changing the topic/subject. I saw what I was saying as intrinsically relevant and felt compelled to push it.
He better not bring it up elsewhere. But I'll keep a watch on things to make sure that the wanky drama doesn't go elsewhere.
Eh, I felt far too lazy to reinstall all of my OS's the last time I messed it up. Well, at the time I had thought I had messed it up, at least. I just couldn't find my way to the boot menu in XP, since that was the last OS I had installed. I pretty much just reformatted the hard disk and slapped Vista Business on it again. It works for what I do, so whatev.

Hmm, maybe I just need to update OO. That might solve all of the problems I have experienced with copying and pasting my writing into my browser. Also, I ran into another problem with it. It appears that whenever I copy anything from a webpage, it automatically formats the text into a table. It's rather frustrating and... Ahhhhhh I feel like an idiot; I just solved my problem, I think. Maybe I just need to click "Undo autoformat". Now I need to find someone who can answer me this: Who borrowed my brain and returned it without rewinding it?

Computer science major? Nice choice. I toyed with the idea, but for now I'm just going to go with a liberal arts degree and perhaps make my way towards some education-oriented degree. I'm still not completely sure what I want to do with my life o.O

Lol, I really have no desire to do anything when I can't sleep. I just sit in my bed on this forum and keep jumping around from place to place, hoping to strike up a completely random conversation with people I don't know. The internet is a fun place for that XD

I'm very, very happy that I lost everything in my first fiction. Although, in all seriuosness, I stumbled across an old fiction I had posted somewhere a while back and reviewed it without realizing that it was mine in the first place. It wasn't until I looked at the users name that it hit me (I had used two usernames on this particular profile; one for posting fictions and one for everything else the forum had). I then read through my own review and realized two things: 1) I had been a terrible writer, and 2) I had come a long way in the past four years.

But I suspect that everyone has their extremely generic badfic at one point or another. It's more a matter of who gets better at writing and pushes away from that and who only keeps pouring out the same cliches fic after fic after fic...
You use Ubuntu as well? I don't use it as my primary OS, but it's still fun to play around with.

I also saw that you have recently begun using OpenOffice. I switched to that a long time ago when I realized that I couldn't find my Microsoft Office CD-Key. It works pretty much the same way with quite a few obvious differences.

First, I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to format the margins in the doc. Apparently, OpenOffice has default margins at .79" or something, whilst my college professors prefer 1". I had to look around for that, and still have only the smallest of ideas on how to find it again, but it appears that OpenOffice saves your margin changes. I could be blind and not seeing the change back, though.

Second, I discovered that OpenOffice doesn't like it when you put a blank line between paragraphs (the version I have, at least). Every single time I post a new chapter for my fics here, I have to edit and delete extra lines it throws in. I've had to delete up to two extra lines between separate paragraphs, and trust me, when you have eleven pages written for one chapter, it gets quite tedious.

Third, the whole layout of the writer is confusing as hell the first time you use it. Well, it was for me at least. Not to mention that you have a billion different formats you can save it in. The first time I saved an essay to a flash drive using OpenOffice and took it to school, I realized that I had saved it in the OpenOffice format on accident. Another time I accidentally saved it as Microsoft Office XML or something. So yeah, weird.

Anyway, that's it for my ranting about OpenOffice for now. Just a little tired, if you can't tell. My inability to sleep leaves me with irresistable urges to relate my experiences with such-and-such computer programs to random people XD

Oh, and I completely agree with you on the Pokemorph thing. I actually wrote some Pokemorph fictions in fourth grade (nine years ago! o.O), but they weren't any good at all lol. They were completely inspired from Animorphs and ripped off pretty much everything, just adding Andalites into them instead of substituting them for some Pokemon. And I never really tried to change the Escafil device into a sphere or something (How do I remember that random stuff? It's been years since I've read that series). In fact, I don't remember if I even explained how they got the power XD Boy, was I a strange kid.
I kind of enjoy doing that, too... I've never been to Serebii, though, because all their themes seem to be a total eye-sore. I know that's not a very good reason not join a forum  But there are some n00b-cases here, too, even if they are a bit seldom.
And then I forgot to make that request. How very usual of me.

I'm sorry for that accidental stalk-ish action part ^-^' I kind of have the habit to start reading VM's in other people's profiles if they're from someone I know. I know I'm not the only one doing that, but it's not an excuse...
    Hello, Mr. Flamestar.

An accident, which kind of resulted in a slightly stalk-ish action, taught me that you think no-one knows you nor reads your posts. Knowing this, I wanted to tell you that I do read your posts and that I also know you by username at this point. You're one of the "long, funny post"-people. Expecially that RP-sort-of post was sincerely hilarious. I should probably stop writing in this utterly proper and polite way of writing, but I kinda got into that role already...

All right, now that you think I'm weird, want to accept a friend request? If you knwo who I am, that is :D
Oh, everyone makes typos. I usually keep my posts from getting too long to make sure as few typos as possible make it through. I always find it admirable in a writer when they proofread not only their fiction, but posts outside of it too.

I know how that "balancing two fics" thing is too. I have two fics I'm in the process of writing along with that parody I hope to post soon. That and annoying ideas keep popping up in my mind when I would rather they don't, like "Just scrap your current fictions and go with this idea." I get tired of those thoughts pretty quickly x.x
Oh, sorry about posting so fast. I tend to get ninja'd while I'm typing up a response, so I got in the habit of typing really fast to compensate. I think my average typing speed in a reply is upwards of 90 wpm :)

As for your long posts, I read them and I'm sure others do too. That last one especially was random :) Randomness is much fun. I liek randomnezz.

Anyway, thanks for the accept. I'll have to take a look at a fanfiction of yours one of these days (if you have/are writing one.) I have a tendency to miss author names when I'm reviewing fictions, so I can't recall if you have one posted here or not.
Oh video games. The bane of all writers. I spent weeks playing The World Ends With You instead of writing like I said I'd be. ;_; Buuut... video games are so shiny. (At which point, enjoy yourself! </bad influence>)
