I told you, the location bar thing didn't work for me. I SR while on the computer and stuff. I was about to unconsciously SR over Ho-oh, since I didn't look at the scroll but heard the ring. I never really paid attention. I'll try the button smashing location bar technique for you, but I believe my shiny number comes a tad later. I'm always training/pal parking in Emerald, so it's hard to settle with something. xD

Yeah.. I didn't obsessively hunt for Ho-oh as it was the school year, even if he took forever. I say it took under 8,000 SRs for sure.

I've heard of that, but idk if I did that. Button smash, I guess. If you never found a shiny within that interval, then stand around to increase your time.

From my understanding, just try out different times. Trial and error, my good man. Press A as fast as possible or wait for a certain amount of seconds or walk a certain amount of steps. Your shiny number may appear later on than for others. Shuffle the RNG by leaving your game on for a couple minutes.

There aren't requirements; you just have to figure out when it appears. Emerald's RNG loops or repeats itself. If your shiny number appears at 10 seconds from bootup, you better reach that again to find another shiny, you know? -example; it's far more complex than just 10 seconds so try the same procedure twenty times or so-

If you have absolutely no luck, factory reset your game and get a new ID no.

Lugia took 4 days (caught Oct. 12, 2006). I started Ho-oh right after, and he took me 11 months (caught Sept. 2, 2007). They're RNG clones. I started hunting Articuno around December, so it's been a year. I'm not the type to hunt endless hours a day, so it's not as much as it sounds. XD

Hmm, you know what I should do? Abuse my Emerald's RNG since there are many legendaries to SR for. It's just that my shiny number is set as Bashful with poor ivs, so I'd rather not find more sucky shinies. D;

If I buy another Emerald, I could abuse it.. I don't want to do a new game on mine..
