  • Let's just hope you don't end up teaching when very tired! :P

Well, now there's 5 more years of sets for you to learn!

If you start collecting again now, you may end up with a lot of figurines from the tins and boxes!

My books used to only be for holos, but then I ran out of room for holos, so I just decided that I'd buy enough binders to put every single card ever in pages in those binders. I do this so I know what specific cards I'm missing in sets, but I've kinda ran out of room three times, and I'm still only at EX:Emerald (one of the 2005 sets).
That would be 60, not 90. You double the damage, not triple it. You're going to be an elementary school teacher, Syd, you should know how multiplication works! :P Or, to put it more simply, x2 is like how attacks are Super Effective in the video games when the attacking Pokemon is lacking the x1.5 STAB boost for the attack, doesn't manage a critical, and only is hitting one of the opponent's type's weaknesses.

Doubling (indicated by x2 on all cards since 2007) is how ALL of the old cards before the Diamond and Pearl set worked for weakness. Newer cards are the ones that have that +20 and +30 and such, at least in the DP era. Looking at my HGSS and BW era cards, it seems they're all just marked with the x2, and, as I recall, the +20 and +30 weaknesses gave too much of an edge to the decks that used Pokemon with them when those decks got a lead. I kinda got back into it on the tail end of that era, when they started reverting back to strictly x2 weaknesses.

Collectors are welcome in my little corner of PC! I've been mostly just collecting myself because of time and financial constraints.

EWWW EEVEE GTFO YOU DON'T BELONG THERE!!!!

Just kidding! Eevee was your first card, right? I honestly don't remember what mine was, and I probably don't have it anyway.

You should totally post a "Pictures of Your Collection" thread for me in TCG with that picture. Seriously. I would but I'd have to take pictures of my collection first.
They've altered them, but the older cards all have x2 weaknesses. Newer cards (DP and later) have whatever is stated on them, be it x2, +30, +10, or +20.

With resistance, I've noticed they've generally stopped putting it on Basic Pokemon, but I do believe all that's changed is that it generally gets printed as -20 or -10 instead of -30.
I was reading the "driving pet peeves" thread, and you were the first one to mention headlights. That's my biggest pet peeve right there (especially those blue headlights). So apparently we're internet-related enough to share the same hated things when it comes to driving!
A lot of mine disappeared too. ;-; ALL THE NEWBIES NEED TO STAY FOREVER D:
Awww some people just learn faster than others I guess, Honeyman seemed to be one of those types to me ;_; Shall take them off~
It is, but it puts that much more emphasis on smart, efficient play! It's also a pretty standard rule in most TCGs.
