For all we know he could have grown up with Poliwags and such because we know of no family for Red. :(

Indeed! Every single trainer had a Pokemon before their actual arc, meaning that for B/W, they prolly will as well and thus definitely not impossible.

Yup! I mean, what can happen is three of 'em gets starters, and then the fourth one joins them later on, without a starter, and eventually gets a Pokedex as well.

Ahhh, I see. The thing I saw about the fourth Gen is that it wasn't as much as adding new Pokemon as much as it was adding a whole bunch of new Evolutions. The amount of Legendaries was ridiculous, though.

My Pokemon, after getting to the final gym, were only in their forties somehow, and I'm too lazy to level 'em.

It took me forever to finish my Pearl version. I'm not surprised why you would.

Yeeeah. The reason I never was able to beat it was because of the fact that I never beat the Pokemon League. :U;
