A perfect Ditto helps the IV breeding. Just don't be afraid to later have a mother and her son mate. Or a grandfather with his granddaughter. You know, because they are the two that have the things you want in the final baby.

The one thing Ditto basically does is serve as a reset facility. If you have a Pokémon with two Egg moves and a move learned normally at Lv.40, breeding with Ditto gets rid of everything. Breeding two of the same species at least gets the Egg Moves passed down every time. I have a Sneasel breeding project as proof.

How long did that Shiny Chespin take you to get? ;)

That's one of the things I plan to breed for myself once I have my Shiny Charm. Though the HA isn't as big a deal; I want a high-IV Shiny. Getting the foreign specimen with high IVs for breeding will be the harder part.
