@ your "indefinite leave of absence": You shouldn't leave PC because of "social garbage." As it turns out, the people you're referring to only make up a small portion of PC's population. They're the people who post everywhere & all the time and thus they get all the attention. They're the people who obsess over what other people think of them. Think about television celebrities: everybody knows them but they aren't representative of the average person. But that group is not the only one here at PC. Besides that group, the staff (though there's some overlap there), and the n00bs, there's another group of people: the people who actually matter. It's like a secret club: nobody knows who's in it, not even the people who are in it. But let me tell you something: you're in it. And I'm in it. There are others too. You just have to look for them. You can't identify them by looking under the Statistics tab on their profile. You might be able to see it in their posts but more often you'll see it in their lack of posts. When those 5% of people on PC that you're upset with are blabbering on about something stupid, the secret club people are the ones who keep their mouthes shut. It's not because they're introverted or socially detached. It's because they have different priorities. They're genuine people and they like other genuine people. They're willing to open up completely to you if you'll open up completely to them. And if you decide to share your secrets with them, you can bet that they'll respect your privacy and they won't talk about you behind your back like that 5%. From my experience, the best friendships are the ones which are built on the idea that you can tell your friend anything and they won't judge you for it. That's the kind of person who belongs to the secret club. They're good people, and you should stay here if only for the chance that you might run into a handful of them.
