  • I think I've been spending too much time on the Internet lately. I was in the bathroom earlier and I noticed that the toilet paper roll currently on the dispenser was completely new (I could tell because I had to rip a bit of it to start rolling it). And it hit me: the person before me had used up the last roll and, even though they didn't need any more paper, they still put on a new roll. And the first thing that popped into my head was a giant picture of Good Guy Greg.

So yeah, I think I need to go without Internet for a few days.
imgur? I'm afraid we're in for a serious rivalry, my friend. Prepare for battle!

    FIRE EVERYTHING

    Spoiler:
I do like shrimp... I like shrimpies... God, where is that from? It's from an Internet video, I know that. But I just can't pinpoint it. Damn, this is gonna keep me up all night.
Well that was weird. I'm not sure where that came from. There must've been something in that shrimp I ate. Hm... yup. Definitely the shrimp.
@ your "indefinite leave of absence": You shouldn't leave PC because of "social garbage." As it turns out, the people you're referring to only make up a small portion of PC's population. They're the people who post everywhere & all the time and thus they get all the attention. They're the people who obsess over what other people think of them. Think about television celebrities: everybody knows them but they aren't representative of the average person. But that group is not the only one here at PC. Besides that group, the staff (though there's some overlap there), and the n00bs, there's another group of people: the people who actually matter. It's like a secret club: nobody knows who's in it, not even the people who are in it. But let me tell you something: you're in it. And I'm in it. There are others too. You just have to look for them. You can't identify them by looking under the Statistics tab on their profile. You might be able to see it in their posts but more often you'll see it in their lack of posts. When those 5% of people on PC that you're upset with are blabbering on about something stupid, the secret club people are the ones who keep their mouthes shut. It's not because they're introverted or socially detached. It's because they have different priorities. They're genuine people and they like other genuine people. They're willing to open up completely to you if you'll open up completely to them. And if you decide to share your secrets with them, you can bet that they'll respect your privacy and they won't talk about you behind your back like that 5%. From my experience, the best friendships are the ones which are built on the idea that you can tell your friend anything and they won't judge you for it. That's the kind of person who belongs to the secret club. They're good people, and you should stay here if only for the chance that you might run into a handful of them.
So I may not be going to Hawaii. Again. D:

Actually, I'm definitely not going. One of our starting middle blockers got injured at yesterday's match and coach got my hopes up that I would be going on the trip in his stead. But stuff happened and now I'm not going. It sucks but it does mean I have the next five days completely off. What to do... what to do...

I didn't wish for it either but it just happened. I guess it's a good thing, though. I mean, at least I have a suite full of people that I enjoy living with. Wow, reading that makes it seem like I don't like living with my family. I do, but there's definitely a difference between my family and my suitemates who are all engineering majors & are all super intelligent people who are open PokéNerds. I hope you have suitemates/roommates as awesome as mine are when you go to college.
So I may be going to Hawaii. Again. :D

And the weirdest thing happened to me last night after practice. I was walking around campus and it was totally deserted because of winter break and stuff. I decided to take a walk through the area of campus where my dorm is. The dorms are locked over break so even students can't get into them. Anyway, I passed my dorm and since my suite is on the first floor, I peered into the common area through the window. As I was looking, I subconsciously muttered to myself, "man, I wanna go home." It was right then that I realized: I'm starting to think of my dorm as my home. I had sorta noticed this earlier when I found myself actually wishing school would start sooner, the first time that that's ever happened to me.
