Pokemon are seperated into Tiers, because some naturally have better stats/abilities than others. I think playing with the really powerful Pokemon is less fun, and less skillful, I play in the UU / NU teirs. UU stands for Underused, NU stands for Neverused. Here's a link to a list of the tiers and what Pokemon are in each.
