Tbh debates are meant to be kinda open-ended. Like how in the thread you made everything turned to homeschooling vs normal schooling pretty quickly, but I'm alright with that since it's still about school and it's just naturally where the discussion went. I'd say to just use your own judgement to decide if you're really off-topic or not since anything seriously off-topic should be pretty obvious.

Heh, I'd say not to be afraid of annoying people or anything around here - the majority are pretty friendly and up for conversation so just say hi to whoever and if they don't reply then that's their problem. Just get out there and make yourself known and stuff. It'll all fall into place soon enough. It took me quite a while too and at first I didn't really feel too happy or secure or fitting in here or whatever but... I stuck with it, found some like-minded people, and I've come a long way I guess!

Heh, kinda. Although it doesn't matter too much - what happens in threads stays in threads and all that.

So it's interesting that you should ask for a mentor after being here for quite a while. Hopefully I'll be able to help you out lol. What's your preferred method of talking? i.e. here, PMs, VMs, Msn, etc.?
