  • Hey Coolcolstyles!
I notcied that you've been learning quite a bit of ASM, and I've been trying to find some documents to get me started. As far as I know, you're still sort of a beginner at it, correct? So if you have some useful documents and things that will help me get started, can you link them to me?

    Thanks in advance.
That's what I'm saying... :( There are no date time registers, you have to read from the IO Port data in a loop and it returns the time in this kind format:
    [Year][Month][Date][Filler][Hour][Minute][Second]
Those are returned by VBA, so in each loop you have to read and write to a IWRAM address.
Yeah, the RTC's already on Ruby but the game doesn't fully utilise it. From what you're asking, I bet you're trying to implement one on Fire Red ;) Well, you have to enable it first with the IO Port Control and then write some special bytes to the other two registers, and then read from it as VBA will return your system's time. The logic of accessing the RTC is not something that I understand XD I just ripped it from another game and made it work on Fire Red, I guess that's about it.
Yeah, I agree entirely and completely. Those were pretty much the only reason I hung around for so long during that time. I had only gotten messenger for the first time that December; the experience with you guys was incredible. And yet no one I know really participates in conversations like that (and even when I do get in-depth with someone in a conversation, it's not the same, because we didn't have three other people. It was like having best friends in real life transported to the internet, which was just awesome.)

Nostalgia is good. Looking back on what we've done helps us realize what to do now. Those days were by far some of my fondest memories here or anywhere, really. Is that sad, that my favorite parts of my life were spent online talking to you guys?

Something I haven't thought of in a while; we met in January - the 18th, I thought. It seems like it was so long ago, but it wasn't.
    Oh. XD

Yeah, I kinda do. I'll have to see how it stands the course over the next few months, though; it'll probably end up going back to Vrai if I don't like it by then.
That brings back horrible memories of when I overused the word 'well'. Don't show that to me ever again >:O
I plan on doing that as well, but I'm not sure. I want to do Tales of Phantasia, but it looks really complicated. :/
