I'll just get the power items by using AR. I also know that using vitamins and minerals can help EV train a pokemon which cuts time out by half.

Oh yeah and speaking of Lucario...Ive never tried to EV train my pokemon. The first time I fought No You Fail I lost to him and he gave me a guide on EV training. When I read over it I felt like that EV training a pokemon would take too long even with AR and I can't use SAV to make Legit EV trained pokemon either. That's probably why Lucario was so slow...
