Graphic design is something you really have to want to do though I guess, it takes a lot of patience seeing as in you're just staring at a computer screen for hours.
Well a few of my friends are studying Art History and it seems quite extensive to be honest so you might not be that lucky is right, I guess t could be pretty interesting though but if you're anything like me you'll hate the theory aspect of something that's far more fun to actually do, such as music.
Oh I know the feeling, going to college just gives you reason to be independent and find your own place, if you're just stuck at home you'll feel like you're going nowhere in life! That's how I see it anyway. I want to move out as soon as I can because there's nothing I want more than to be out on my own or renting a place with some friends, but getting a job will be tough given the econmic climate and all that blah /hates politics

I think we should all do it, it prepares us for the unexpected things in life, if we can deal with something we're not used to then that's just another step in being able to deal with whatever life throws at us, even if it starts out small like being out of your comfort zone on an art project. I'm in a similiar boat, I've been asked to play some traditional Irish music with my guitar as a guy I know managed to get a slot in a pub (or something I'm a bit shady on the details) but I've never even played traditional music before, so this should be quite interesting XD

That's crazy talk, I love your work and I honestly don't care if you have a base or not, it's as good as scratch and as high quality. I bet you could do scratch if you worked at it though, these things don't come right away.
I really hope you do follow that path though, I think you have it in you to be able to make such things. By maps you mean? Someone I really admire not only because of his talent but because of the fact that he finds the time to do so much spriting is kyledove, I guess if you want to learn how to do things from scratch he'd be a good role model XD
Piano is something I've always wanted to play at a high level, though if you're not good with reading & learning why not look at youtube videos? I think I did that when I started out with my guitar learning a few songs here and there as well as learning myself, it helpped.
Ahaha, sounds pretty awesome, I wish I had friends who appreciated pokemon like I do XD But nah, no one really knows about my love for it. Other than PC'ers and two IRL friends who I made join PC ironically. I had a house party for my Spring Break, I think I must have spent 2 days trying to get the smell of beer from my house XD

Some wise words I learned when I was worried about my future were "Do what you love doing your entire life, and you'll be happy" and ever though I have little ideas about what I want to do when I leave college at least I'll have a degree in something I like doing, the same goes for you when it comes to art, at least you'll be doing something you like.

Wow, sounds like you can really invent something from nothingm you have skill in that case. I guess it was a good idea to throw something like that at you to see what you could come up with when you're out of your comfort zone.
It's like anything really, if you put your mind to it, you can do anything you want to, you can be anything you want to be. When it comes to art, I've done painting and odd things in the past but it never caught on too well, I think digital art was more my forte. Though I do enjoy photography, it's not as hands on as sculpting or painting or even drawing may be. I'm aware that art is really something anyone can pick up if they're really intent on doing it. As soon as get my new laptop I'll be getting into spriting mainly because I'm working on my hack alone now, not by my choice but mainly because I know how busy other people are. I've done some things in the past but nothing much, nothing amazing but a start. I really have an interest in pixel art, mainly because I admire those who are really talented at it such ad yourself. I can relate though, at one point I wanted to be a muscian, I was terrible at guitar but after hours of practice a few days a week got me to a level I never dreamed of, I now teach guitar and I'm still extremely lazy XD
Ugh tell me about it, I had one overly active weekend and a lot of waisted days and now the sun is setting on my final day off from my fortnightly holiday. Kinda sad now. XD
That all sounds pretty interesting, I think I read about you wishing to get into game design which is a really cool ambition. Reminds me of Signomi who did art for my game, she's got a real game style character art thing going on there xD
