I also think fairies are more likely because just because something can't be seen doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
This would also extend to God, except that people who believe in God claim he is an all-powerful being, people who believe in fairies don't try and claim they have omnipotence and omnipotence is not something that people can logically believe in if they cannot see it, some evidence has to be given to prove omnipotence.
Let's not forget that many religious claims have been proved false by science time and time again.
Also new species are being discovered all the time, who's to say that fairies aren't out there amongst all of those undiscovered species?

Believing in a small creature that is skilled in hiding itself is more logical than believing in an omnipotent, omniscient being that somehow created the universe but has never actually given us any evidence to prove its existence.
