  • Glad you like the PR music! :) The original MMPR Theme is most likely what made me get into rock music; it's been with me since childhood... And, btw, Power Rangers RPM is a series worth watching as well. And with awesome music, to boot!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuS67_R-l6Y - RPM DEMO 1

IMO, the second song should've been the actual theme, but Disney messed up... (there are 3 other demos, btw) :( Still, I think the series is definitely worth checking out.

As for SSP, discovering them was awesome. If I hadn't been browsing between radio stations, I might have never gotten to hear their EPIC songs! The lyrics for their songs are also interesting as well, particularly in The Royal We... I think all of their songs could serve as Crowning Moments of Awesome (but I've only heard 3, so I can't say for sure yet)

I've heard stations mention Tool and play their music, but I don't know if I can recall a specific song off-head. Which song do you recommend that truly captures their version of epicness/awesomeness?
Yeah. I still have them. Maybe I could do that now. ._.
Because I feel like I need to do something. Maybe I can renew that drive.
It really makes me feel guilty... It always makes me feel bad when my mind dumps a story idea that, let's face it, actually did hold promise.
It's always worse when I involve other people... then dump the idea.... I feel very scummish...
Panic Switch is indeed awesome. That song has one of THE best intros and endings to any song that I've ever heard, leading up to the awesomeness that is the rest of the song! One listen to that song and SSP was my favorite alt. rock band, instantly! Even better, I managed to hear it the day their album, Swoon, was released.

Substitution was a nice track too. But The Royal We simply makes me speechless; that ties with Panic Switch as one of the best songs EVER. Even though those 3 songs are the only ones I've heard by SSP so far, I can't wait to listen to the other tracks in the near future... :D

As for MMPR's theme composer, Ron Wasserman AKA The Mighty RAW, he also managed to craft these gems:

And this is reminiscent of the above, though by a different artist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4by97oYUCnw

Don't you just love what the power of awesome/epic rock music can do? :cer_boogie:
Pfft! As if! At least... not yet... I might later, but that idea is too there... It won't go away until I draw it.
No. Body of Lightning, Soul of Thunder.... My mind has more or less dumped the idea. I want to keep going... I just... don't have that drive anymore.... ._. I'm going to keep it just in case I pick it up later (Which is liable to happen) but... I have been unable to think of anything good in so long...
    I hate my mind sometimes....
It will have amazing ideas... then drop them...
I've never been able to finish what I start writing.... Either I start hating it, or I make such a gap I'd need an explanation... which I can't think of... so my mind just drops the idea. I'm hating that... well it's a bad habit now I guess.
I think you can see where I'm going with this... ._.
If you're undecided, take a gander at this: http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/248/5/b/pokabu_final_evo_by_sieberwolf-d2y4268.jpg

That monstrosity there can apparently learn Head Smash and Flare Blitz as well! ;)

Nice to hear that you're an alt. rock guy! :D My personal favorites right now are Silversun Pickups :cer_boogie:, Disturbed, Sick Puppies, and the Offspring. AFI's "Medicate" song also gets them a mention. And I can't forget this piece of EPICNESS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0KOfTV1dbc

As for Naruto, I left off at the end of the episode right when Sasuke is about to leave Konoha, and I was unable to watch Naruto for about 3 years. So now, I've restarted watching the series, and finished the Land of Waves arc a few days ago (I've already heard a few Shippuden spoilers though, and I heard Shippuden EP167 is...'debatable' I'm going to start the Chunin Exam arc soon, though! :) And I still have a lot of anime to catch up on, including Digimon, FMA, Bleach, One Piece, InuYasha, DBZ Kai...
Oh good. Just to be sure though...wifi is still available to the regular DS, right?

    I'm on Wifi, btw.
I know. That's why I'm trying to import.... hehe...
I'm trying not to spoil anything... but no luck there.
    Alrighty.

So B&W is compatible with the normal DS, right? I just got this new DS in May, and I'd really hate myself if I told my parents I needed another one to play B&W. :pink_laugh:
Hehe No... no... I believe.... that it is not yet a force to be feared. Well it would be if I saw it in the dark without my glasses on but that's a whole other story...
All I know... is I can't wait to get the games.
Gah, it's probably my wifi acting up. I live in a college dorm so everyone bounces off one another. I'll get back to you tomorrow after I reset my router.
lol I just thought of fan rotom blowing the flame out. ._.
It wouldn't work but it was a funny thought.

Which led to an equally silly comic idea...
Cool. I'm trying to refrain from a lot of the BW spoilers so the experience can be more "new" come the English release. I plan on getting the "third version" of BW, though, so I have to wait 1-2 years... :( Not to mention I'm still stuck in Gen 3 with Emerald and FireRed! :cer_laugh: :cer_cry:

As for my starter, I plan on starting with Pokabu/"Porkabu" :) Upon getting Platinum, I would've started with Chimchar, but his "tail-flame" thing looked like it ripped off the Charmander line, and Infernape's typing ripped off the Blaziken line (who was my first ever starter!) As a result, I plan on starting with Turtwig once I receive Platinum, because saying "Torterra" sounds cool and its shell looks as awesome as Squirtle's did. Anyway, my normal trend is using the Fire-type starters, and Gen IV is the only one where I plan to break the trend. One of my major reasons for disliking BW is that Game Freak used Fire/Fighting for the third time in a row, which, IMO, shows a lack of creativity (the only thing justifying this is, as a supposed "bulky" Pokemon, Fighting-type helps it resist Rock-type moves better). But since Gen V is supposed to be a "rebirth" and all, I'm just going to let it slide and continue my Fire-starter trend (sadly, Pokabu's evo doesn't even have the promising stats of a bulky Pokemon, just high HP to appear to be an artificial bulky Mon).

Regarding Rise Against, "Savior" is my favorite song of theirs so far. I especially love the line "like memories of dying days that deafen us like hurricanes." Apart from the "Shippuden/Hurricane Chronicles" reference ;), the song feels like you're braving a storm of epic proportions. In short, the song's awesome! :D

I take it that you listen to other alternative rock musicians as well...? (sorry for the lengthy post!)
