First thing's first: sorry for the long delay in my reply, I have been away from this forum for quite a while now. I being a man of, let's just say "varied interests", need to prioritize my act, and quite often things fell by the roadside in the process. So please do not take any offense in my delay in response.
Second thing's second (or I guess this should have been the first): you are a Muslim, right? So our greeting should be one of peace :-) So here goes: As-Salaamu 'Alaikum wa rahmatullah.
Do I study religion as a major? Well no, I am into secular studies (Microbiology), like pretty much the rest of the world. I do however consider religion (Islaam, being more specific) to be the most important thing in my life, and therefore I make it my duty to know more about my religion, as well as the contrast between my faith and the other ones, to solidify my conviction in the truth of Islaam.
You would have to forgive the scholarly tone I have employed, it's due to an inertia phase I've been going through. I am talking about Islaam with a friend of mine and for that purpose I've been preparing long and depressingly boring intellectual monologues with all the care to keep the tone scholarly. Hopefully the next time we speak, inshAllah, I will move on from this phase and speak in lighter tone :-p
ma'Salaam
