I know, but what is the Shiny Hunter's Manual?

I saw your post on MetalMario's wall. I saw the post he made, but Shiny Hunting Manual? I thought it was funny, but was it a reference to anything?

thanks, it was really interesting seeing weezing explode, and I usually play without the animation for faster gameplaying. But at least got one and enjoyed the exploding animation of the other three. Of course there's a story of what it was like when I was facing them. But that's another story for another day.;)

I'm just not prioritising them on the same level. I really want this Roggenrola as soon as I can so it seemed like filtering out every other possible Pokémon would make my life a lot easier. ^^

And yeah, I'm not too bothered about getting more right now since all I want is to beat the Elite Four with a shiny Gigalith in my team. x)

Isn't it a problem though, that I only want a Roggenrola? I'd think it'd be quicker to get one if I was to cut out the Woobat and Drilbur by breeding.

No, it's not like that.

Let's say you're SRing, and each SR advances the RNG by 2. You're at 1004, the game randomly decides oh, a shiny at 1006, so if you do one more SR you will get a shiny.

But it doesn't decide future Pokemon, not really anyways.

Not really. That's why you can easily manipulate the RNG in the 4th gen and not really in the 5th gen.

By the way, do you think I'm better off going for the Masuda Method for a shiny Roggenrola or hunting manually?

Because of the way it generated. Like..you could be one SR from a shiny in Platinum, save, shut up, come back on and now you aren't.

With the new RNG that won't happen.

Yes it's different, in the way it generates a number. And no, it doesn't affect hunting. Well, actually, it does. It makes it easier because now you can't skip a shiny seed like you would be able to in past generations.

2700 SRs, no luck so far... I guess I could SR all day all week (since it's spring break) to get it "only" in several days, but I have a life also :)

Thanks for the congrats! I have been hunting like a madman, and I was watching a Shiny Snivy YouTube vid. I just glanced down and saw a shiny Snivy staring back at me! He hatched right before the vid ended.
