Well, in truth, all demons were at one point angels. Despite that Abaddon is a very complicated thing. Some say he is an angel suppose to keep Hell in line. Others think he is Satan or Lucifer himself. Heck, some people say that Abaddon is another name for Jesus Christ himself. In Revelation, it is said he is "The Destroyer," the angel of the abyss. Now, there are multiple angels that could be "the angel of the abyss." Satan/ Lucifer WAS the Shining Star among the heavenly hosts afterall. Personally? I think the Destroyer is the archangel Michael himself.

tl;dr: Archangel Michael = Abaddon (This is my opinion, based on studying the bible and other Abrahamic texts.)

I'm partial to the Gospel of Mark as well. Psalms and Revelations as well. I like to study angels and demons in my spare time afterall. XD
