  • As you have seen, im not the best when it comes to team member selection, so my question really is thus:

    What pokemon would you advise against using?
    fair enough. I assume I am looking for low speed, high attack, defense, special defense and HP, just like with the ferroseed parent? My only concern is I have tried a couple of Turtwig's now and they all seem to universally have high Speed Stats...
    okay, I am looking at the female Ferroseed Parent's IV's that I ended up getting and they are as follows:

    #597 Ferroseed [Relaxed]
    IVs: 10 - 11 HP || 31 Atk || 28 - 29 Def || 11 - 12 Sp.Atk || 28 - 30 Sp. Def || 4 - 5 Spe
    Stats at Lv.43: 95 HP || 61 Atk || 104 Def || 30 Sp.Atk || 91 Sp.Def || 13 Spe

    If I am reading this correctly the main stat I need to worry about coming up with for the male Turtwig Parent is the Hit Points Stat. I am currently looking at a male Turtwig that has the following IV ranges at level 6 (not the best level to determine IV's at, but its the best I can do while it is still in Platinum):

    #387 Turtwig [Impish]
    IVs: 31 HP || 0 - 13 Atk || 6 - 21 Def || 0 - 26 Sp.Atk || 7 - 23 Sp.Def || 5 - 21 Spe
    Stats at Lv.6: 24 HP || 13 ATk || 14 Def || 9 Sp.Atk || 12 Sp.Def || 9 (1) Spe

    While the other stats may be a tad bit high (especially the speed) the one that is most important and worth noting in my mind is the Hit Point Stat which even at level 6 is maxed out... if that stat is inherited the baby Ferroseed will have the best Hit Point Value it can get.

    Opinions? Does this Turtwig Work, or is it still too low stat wise?
    so by do a do-over you just mean get a new turtwig, not start over on pokemon white itself?

    I ask because I think I may have messed up on both the Conkeldur & Reuniclus' IV's....
    Yup, that's exactly how I do it if the Pokémon I'm training is not good against Audinos. I send it in via Lucky Egg, then swap it. It's the easiest way to get the job done.
    the problem with checking Turtwig's IV's is I used it almost exclusively to fight in Pokemon Platinum and don't remember exactly what all I fought and how frequently I fought them. So I have no idea what the EV's on Turtwig happen to be... so I wouldn't be able to get an accurate read on it's IV's.

    The easiest chance of getting an accurate read on a Turtwig's IV's would be to redo the Turtwig a couple of times and trying to get a good IV that way.

    At the same time if I remember correctly I checked the IV's right after fighting the chimchar on the Turtwig, and by the looks of them they weren't absolutely horrible, but they weren't perfect either. I probably could get a slightly better turtwig, especially since there is a 50/50 chance that as soon as my current turtwig levels up in like 2 or 3 more stays at the daycare it will lose one of the abilities I am trying to teach the ferroseed baby.
    truth be told I think I may have royally screwed up right from the start because I honestly didn't realize the best way to check IV's was using the Gear Station in Nimbasa City. I think I may actually have gotten some rather sub par pokemon right when I started doing this. So it may actually be ideal to start over from scratch now that I know what I am doing XD instead of trying to fix the problem from where I am. Opinions?

    EDIT: Oh I see, well then I suppose thats okay, the only other concern I have is generating money at the current time, but I suppose the easiest way to do that is with those daily events?
    okay I have gotten the closest to your specifications you gave me yet. There is a slight problem however. The speed IV is between 10 and 13. Here are the IV's of the newest Ferroseed:

    #597 Ferroseed [Relaxed]
    IVs: Hit Points: 10 - 11 || Attack: 12 - 13 || Defense: 28 - 29 || Sp.Attack: 20-21 || Sp. Defense: 29 || Speed: 10 - 13
    Stats at Lv.50: Hit Points: 109 || Attack: 61 || Defense: 121 || Sp.Attack 39 || Sp.Defense: 105 || Speed 18

    Unfortunately my Torterra is about to level up and I have no guarantee that it will retain the skills that I want it to have. So that means I am either going to have to get another Turtwig family pokemon and teach it the skills I need, or I am going to have to stick with this Ferroseed assuming it meets your approval.
    You can beat it was +1 lol, Specially Defensive Empoleon can only 3HKO ChestoRest Kingdra iirc and takes 45% from Outrage. +2 easily 2HKO's it. Empoleon isn't even a good check, physical Kingdra setup on Specially Defensive Empoleon and Specs murders Physically Defensive.

    A gimmick Empoleon with Roar can counter Kingdra but you eat an attack in the process combined with Spikes and SR means your "check" is well not a check the next time round.

    basically kingdra has no counters but that doesn't mean it's broken. Chandelure has no counters either. no counters =/= broken despite noobs claiming so.
    Nice.

    Something about it's unpredictability, like it can run DD, Specs, RD Special or RD mixed and basically you have to lose a Pokemon or let it setup to find out. Iirc the same garbage they used to ban Mence last generation. Raikou is a better suspect imo but even he's fine.
    Gastrodon can be better choice since it can cover sun team as well as rain and grass won't be a problem. So Storm Drain should be fine.
    Making it into Dragon team. But Garchomp replacement could be Landorus or Gastrodon when required.. Which one would be better?
    How dose this team look on paper:
    Skarmory Sturdy
    Reuniclus Magic Guard
    Magnezone Magnet Pull
    Garchomp Rough Skin
    Scizor Technician
    Haxorus Mold Breaker
    sdfghjkl; how could you not have finished The Last Airbender? >:C You have finished it now, right? It's been a while, lol.

    Uhh idk... My favorite moment in Legend of Korra is... No spoilers for you! Lin in episode 10!
    Yeah, you're right, I just spaced out on that, haha. The new move tutors are amazing, and I need to learn more of them, haha.

    Thanks, I'll edit that in.
    My best streak was somewhere around 40, can't remember. Yours?

    There's actually talk of turning it into a suspect though I severely doubt it'll be banned. It's just top tier like Scizor is top tier in OU iirc
