  • if you can, can you try to convert it to mac? :P if you can't I totally understand but it would be cool lol
I fixed the time problem. And the save problem on Emerald, but not on FireRed.

It was rather simple, actually. When I browsed for solutions on the internet, I came across one that said about some vba-over.ini file. And that 0 means disabled, anything else means enabled. I did write that file, but it didn't work or I didn't understand the instructions, and it's probably the latter because i thought saving it in the same place was referring to the folder rather than the file. Anyway, I have 3 vba notepad files -I don't know how- and two of them had rtc diseabled in their coding. So I fixed it on both of them, and when i reopened the game, the message that the battery was run dry did not appear. Strangely, I could see my last save file, even though it still said the data is corrupted. I could continue normally from the menu screen anyway. Just thought I'd let you know how I fixed it in case you ever come across another person with the same problem.

However, the problem with FireRed is still there. Could it also be fixed by changing the coding in that notepad file? And if so, how should I change it?
Oh! I see what you meant with the save states now.. *facepalm* but I did that on FireRed (where as I said, I wasn't able to save normally) and it's much faster, but after beating the E4 I was unable to continue.. E4 is the main reason I would need to have my game saved properly the 'normal' way.

Also i tried to set the Real Time Clock and then reopen the game, but after like 10 minutes of playing I went to Littleroot and the clock there was exactly how it was the last time I checked. And I made sure that the Real Time Clock option didn't uncheck itself like it did before. I've read somewhere that i'd also need to go to 'Save type' and uncheck the options 'Automatic' and 'Flash 64K', but I couldn't. I found them and all, but I couldn't uncheck. I'm not even sure how this Real Time Clock is even supposed to work in-game.. Like how is the game supposed to recognize it.
Thanks, but uh, I'm still confused about something...

I'm not sure what you mean by 'save states'. In Emerald I frequently save both on emulator and in-game (the latter is required for the Battle Tents, anyway), When I try to save it goes correctly, but when I try to load I need to do so through an emulator, otherwise it loads me at the point where I first reached Petalburg. In FireRed, when I tried to save, well I don't remember what exactly it said, but the save didn't work (I think that, afer the usual 'Saving.. don't turn off the power' it said 'save failed' or something like that), so I stopped even trying, but shouldn't it save automatically after beating the E4? On my very first version of FireRed, there was no problem with it, but I lost the original file and I don't remember where I downloaded it from. On the second, it didn't save either, but it still did save after the E4, but again, I lost the file. Also when i opened my FireRed now, I wasn't given an option to continue - however, when I tried to save right after starting a new journey (just to see if it worked), but it said that there is another save file, so I decided not to save. But if there is another save file, whiy did I not get an option to continue? Is it because when I opened to game, it said "the 1M sub-circuit board is not installed"? If yes, how do I install it and can I do so without having to start the whole journey over again? If no, what could be the problem and solution? Download another FR? But what if the other is wrong too? if FireRed was as easy as Emerald, it wouldn't be a problem -other than the fact I'd have to start a new journey and couldn't keep my old Pokémon, that is- as I remember beating Emerald in one day (although all my Pokémon were at pretty low levels, I have no idea how I did it - and after getting the badges i never managed to beat the E4 because of such low levels, so I cheated to get Lugia and Ho-oh, but the game crashed when I beat the E4 with them. Do not cheat to get Pokémon, at least not before E4, was the lesson it taught me.)
    What's up?

I have an important question. Very important. My Dad won't let me save anything on his computer. So I have to install a program onto my drive. How do I do this? I hope you help or I am dead.

THAT GUY WHO MADE RANDOM WEATHER CHANGE EVERY 50 SECONDS IN ALL GAMES
    Hello, remember me?

Well I have a certain question.. Actually three.. About ROMs.
One happened with FireRed - after I beat the E4, instead of being able to continue, the game started acting as if I never started the journey in the first place, basically after the credits Prof. Oak started explaining me what are Pokémon. Is it possible to fix that without deleting my save file? I saved the game right before challenging the rival, so if it's possible, I could continue playing normally.. I don't want to loose that file, since I've never got so far in a game, I don't mean by plot, but by fact that I actually managed to follow my training policy which says, catch all pokemon that can be found in the area, train them all to level 10 before challenging the first GYM, and for 5 more levels before every next GYM, so now all my pokemon are at level 40+ now, which really wasn't an easy task to do.
The other two are about Emerald. It says clock based events will no longer occur. I looked for a solution on the internet, but setting it to real time clock didn't work. I know it didn't because as soon as I set it, I flew to Littleroot to check the clock, and after about 20 minutes of playing I went there again but the clock still showed exactly the same time. Again, I would need a way to fix this and still keep my saved file. Also the first time I managed to follow the pre-mentioned policy in Emerald, at least so far (got my 6th badge yesterday). I know time is not as important in these games as it is in GSC, but I love entering contests and my chances would get significantly lower if I can't use berries to create pokeblocks. And also the Shoal cave which I wouldn't be able to explore fully if I can't fix this..

It also says that the save file is corrupted and the previous save file will be loaded. The last time I saved before that was apparently soon after the first time I visited Petalburg (after that, i had a really long pause until I continued playing from there), and that's what it loaded. Okay, I can still save and load normally on the 'file' section of the window, but I'm afraid this could mean I won't be able to play the game after I beat the E4, similar to what happened in FireRed.. Especially bad because in both of these games, for me the best part of them starts after beating them. Can i fix it without losing my save file? Or is it something I shouldn't worry about?

    Thanks in advance,
    ~Pika
