Here's some little trivia for you :)
Both Gen III, Gen V, and Gen VI don't have rodents for their normal early route Pokémon, as a Raccoon, Meerkat, and Bunny aren't rodents (a Bunny isn't actually a rodent according to scientists).
Gen IV and Gen VI are the only regions where the regional normal type gains a secondary type, Water and ground respectively which happen to be Kyogre and Groudon types.
The Gen VI (counting Zygarde) and Gen III mascots share the most types of any generation since Gen I and II (totaling at 3: Flying, Dragon, Ground) except for Fairy,Dark,and Water.
MegaCharizard X and Y share things with the primary mascots of each generation. Y's shares it's typing with the original, and Ho-oh. It has Groudon's ability. While X shares it's typing with Reshiram and has the dragon type like Dialga...
