I know! Going back and watching the highlight reel of that match, it's obvious Wawrinka is much more comfortable dealing with Nadal's heavy crosscourt forehands to his one-handed backhand then Federer was. As great of a rival as Fed/Rafa was, that pattern usually meant Nadal's victory and Federer's inevitable failure. Can't wait to see the Wimbledon draw! Last year saw such a huge amount of upsets...

It's amazing how much he's progressed, looking back two or more years. I think people would've laughed back then if you said Wawrinka will be the #1 player for Switzerland in two years. He deserves it though, that Australian Open final, while a heartbreaker for me, being a Nadal fan, was beautifully played.

Yeah, all that with Lendl, and then his back, it just puts him in a vulnerable position. Not sure if you heard Nadal's press conference after the French final, but he did say that if Djokovic won the fourth set, he would've won the match, so I think Novak's very close, and the surface not being clay may be the difference that pushes the odds in his favor. Wouldn't be surprised if he's the favorite!
