Quite the misfortune in Buffalo, then. At least they've managed to parlay the Vanek trade from a few years ago into quite the haul over a couple different trades.

well, as long as Harding's MLS stays mostly under control, Kuemper recovers cleanly from his concussion and Backstrom returns to his top form, things look great in goal.

Stablest thing would be Backstrom returning to top form, but Harding and Milkman were fantastic in the matches of theirs that I had seen.

Heater was still a moderately serviceable player for his Wild years, at least until this year. Keeping him on did give the younger guys more time to develop down in Iowa (our development team), though.

I think the $7.5 million was leftover from his second Ottawa deal back in '07. Kinda telling that he was on 3 separate teams for the duration of that contract.

How about that arms race in the Central Division today? Iginla to the Avs and Stastny to the Blues as well as the Vanek signing, plus the Preds and Stars getting some pieces they needed. Poor Winnipeg's in line to get absolutely demolished, haha. Only thing that could have made it more terrifying today is if Niskanen signed for less than he did with the Caps to play for one of the Central Division teams instead.
