  • Rarely... Very rarely... I think there was only one time someone actually bought me lunch, our landlady who also happened to be my grandma's cousin. Another time someone gave me a Subway gift card.

...pardon my eavesdropping, but is what Zach's saying true...? If so, we need to find time to battle finally. I haven't played Pokémon X in weeks, but my strategy is still fresh in my mind.
Yeah, I always had a hard time writing about real people, even when I had to do it for reports and stuff for college/school. It really just left me feeling awkward...

Also, yeesh... You have no idea how many people try to take advantage of my "free labor."
Probably the weekend then. I'm so busy with school during the week, unless you're on at odd hours :P

Also, does your new place have wifi as well?
Well, I'm mostly uncomfortable writing stories about REAL people who undergo a transformation into something else. The prospect is rather unsettling to me. If they're fictional incarnations of said persons, then I'm all for it. But the one who wanted me to write for them described it in a way I'm really uncomfortable with.

Also, yeah, I understand that. I move people all the time, both on and off the jobsite. A large part of my job actually does involve moving HEAVY furniture out of rooms I need work in, into other rooms, and then moving back into the original room when I'm done. I also tend to get recruited for moving family friends out of their homes when they move out.
This is a random VM. Is it not? It seems like everything is random these days :P

Oh cool!! Let me know when your Leaguing (lmao that's a word?) again too :D
    Work that kitchen!

The sample was one I selected based on a previous survey, which I looked up information for and then examined in greater detail a bunch with certain characteristics. Basically though I chose objects that looked 'redder' than others, which is potentially due to stuff (gas or dust) being in the galaxy of the host radiation/between us and said galaxy. As you'd only see hydrogen absorption if hydrogen is actually there...

I don't actually go to the telescope (although I probably will at some point) to do the observing here (but incidentally I am going to a different telescope for a different project this week!). In part because as I said elsewhere, it's on the other side of the country! It is operated from Sydney however, i.e. remotely. You can send commands to it to look at this part of the sky and observe for however long, etc. I'm not actually doing that either (it's way too expensive a project - particularly one being developed so it's not even easy to use/software stuff ongoing, etc - to be entrusted to a new PhD student, haha), but I did supply the targets and information, and my supervisors are passing it on. :)
Oh, the concept I was fine with, and even more so the reason they wanted it (it was going to be a gift to their girlfriend). However, the thing they wanted me to write about was weird on a whole other level, and involved their irl selves being turned into their favorite anime character along with their girlfriend.

Also, naw! That's what I call "light reading" (in comparison to Biohazard and Feral Twilight). :P
    I always feel bad by not responding back to VMs from you ;-;

    Also yay new apartment :D
    http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14422816/ <-The story's also posted too.

*sighs* I feel a little guilty now because someone else asked me almost immediately after I posted it if I'd take his/her request. We talked it over a bit, and I made it clear I didn't want to do anything too adult, but what he/she described is way out of my comfort zone. I mean, the base concept was very romantic and rather enchanting, but after they described it, I really had to turn it down... :/ The person did give me a choice, though.
Average prices I've seen for commissions on FA: $5 for line art, $10 for flat colored pics, $15-$20 for full colored pics (including shading), $20-$30 for reference sheets (i.e. pictures describing characters from their colors, anthro/feral forms, and details such as clothing, accessories, etc.). Other art can vary drastically, and almost nothing's done for free. I've been looking for people to do requests for a while, but still nothing. I'm willing to do trades, but I honestly have no idea if anyone would accept full-length one-shots... :/

Also, for a comic, that's pretty good. I'm not surprised at all, though, since people will pay good money for that sort of stuff. (Oh, did I mention that the person who asked me to write for him said he may help me out getting commission trades if I'm alright doing other works for him too? Nothing adult, of course. He's actually very happy with cutesy kid-friendly stuff, and keeps praising me on that. I actually just sent him a copy of the first draft and he said he loves it to death, basically.)
    Good luck with the moving!

Well, I am hoping that we get some detections for hydrogen gas from this small sample I came up with! That is more interesting to examine and write about than 'we looked and didn't find anything for maybe these reasons'. Then I can look into more detail (why do some systems show it and not others, what is the gas doing, how that ties to the galaxy morphology, etc etc).
If it were all originally works, then I may've considered it. But, since it's basically a fanfic, there's no way I'd do that lest risk getting in trouble for copyright infringement. I mean, it's basically all Pokémon, so that falls under fanfics.
Gotcha. Well, for this story, I'm trying to write a little more like my norm. Not something overly serious, given it's supposed to be both kid-friendly and humorous, but still somewhat intelligent. I mean, Pyra Jya-Luquay is one of the characters for Pete's sake and she alone demands a degree of intellectual conversation.
wow that wouldof definitely been a weird but insightful process to be put through, although i have the maturity and mind of a middle school student, so once i get in the work force ill be able to confirm that theory lol.
Sure thing. I just hope you don't find it so random compared to my normal works. The general premise of transformation stories is that they tend to be a little sporadic, and things don't always make sense. That's kind of why I was avoiding writing them until now, even though I personally enjoy the genre a lot myself.
well according to my hw this week im gonna be face deep in some used books for labor day

i always like to think the most stressful processes with purpose are some of the most rewarding, the situations that are stressful for no reason are definitely not worth it
