I'm more inclined to believe that it was less struggling on the PS3, and more on the lack of proper quality checking, since a lot of the problems the game had were hardly minor and could definitely been resolved with a couple more months of polishing. Especially the seamless battle transition, it's a nice addition to the series, but it was hard for me to believe that they couldn't push towards 60 FPS; since just a month before Zestiria, I played Shining Resonance, a game which also features seamless battle transitions that ran at 60 FPS. I do hope that it does come out on Steam, but it would also be a shoe-in for a PS4 port if that's the case, haha.
I share your sentiments with this cast. They're far more tightly knit than any of the other casts by a slight margin. I didn't really care for Zaveid though :( You're right! If it's something that Zestiria nailed, it definitely was character interactions and the overall flow on how the model moves. Edna chasing Mikleo was an interesting surprised when I first saw that, I remember I missed out on the dialogue for that scene because I was watching those two. The scene that made me really go wow for the animation was when Sorey was trying to introduce the Rose to the Seraphs. Aside from the beautiful Edna teasing, I broke out laughing when I saw the straight punch from Rose and Sorey go flying (and spin no less!).
