  • Slurpuff's probably one of the only Pokemon that has access to Belly Drum and Unburden, as well as Drain Punch recovery. It's hard to set up since you need to weed out its counters (most of them steel types) but once it gets going it definitely get going. Give it just the necessary Speed EVs to outspeed most of the metagame and you have one heck of a sweeper.
Which was why I said Follow Me tactic. It attracts the attackers to a more defensive Pokemon as Slurpuff wrecks.

Although a single Taunt is enough to render Slurpuff useless. That's how I dealt with the Slurpuff on Battle Spot anyway.
It's mostly in contruction though, so idk haha. Plus I'm mobile now.

But hey, the Slurpuff's set is:
    Slurpuff @ Sitrus Berry
    Ability: Unburden
    Adamant Nature
    I forgot its EV spread
    - Belly Drum
    - Drain Punch
    - Play Rough
    - Return/Substitute/Aromatherapy

Belly Drum is obviously the set up move to maximize its Attack, and giving it enough HP EVs to reach an even number so a single BD will activate the Sitrus Berry, and at the same time activate the Unburden. I think I gave it enough Speed EVs to outspeed most, if not all Pokemon after the Unburden boost. However, it is like a one-time use, so the minute you switch out it's quite useless.

Drain Punch helps with recovering HP after Belly Drum. It helps against Ateel types that don't have a secondary type to resist Fighting. Pkay Rough is the STAB move for this set.

I know that defensive Steel types are probably the few Pokemon that could counter it. Moves that forces a switch is also bad for it.

I'm still having a toss up for the last move though. Like, Return helps against Poison-types that resist both Drain Punch and Play Rough, Substitute keeps it safe as it sets up, and Aromatherapy helps get rid of status problems.

I'm still considering on possible teammates and a more optimal EV spread than mine though... I've considered using a Follow Me tactic at VGC to prevent potential Taunts, but that's not the rules we're talking about, right?
I did make a team using a Belly Drum Slurpuff haha. It's one of my favorite sets, even though it's not so good if you can't set up right. xD
Congrats on being one of the first members to get the new ORAS emblems. Two of them to boot. C:

    Well I did get the travel journal award as well so... ╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭
It's so nice to see a favourite of yours get a mega. I haven't used M-Gallade yet but I've heard some good things (and yeah, its stats in its base form weren't that great), I'm guessing you've used it (the Mega) a lot? Gallade's a cool Pokemon too!
    It's a long story.
About 8(?) years ago, I was looking at battles by Marriland (during Gen 4) and I wanted to do something like this (I didn't know about EV training or IVs just natures) and when Gen 5 came I've discovered Smogon and knew about natures, EVs and IVs better. From there, I've gradually improved (and this is when I've got a new favourite Pokemon) and I've also watched other people play competitively (from YouTube and Pokemon Online, I've tried my hand at battling at first and failed miserably). While I wasn't the best at it, I really enjoyed doing competitive as I prefer that over doing casual battles. I'm still not the greatest battler now (and my current favourite struggles in the current OU meta) but I've improved greatly over the years.
Very nice question, thanks for asking!
Nice. Where will you be staying?

Nothing much, just spend most of my time working, haha.
Oh, it's great to hear that you got accepted! Congrats!

How are you planning to spend your summer?
Completely fair points, I mean it looks like he's decided to go with something else anyway haha!

Again I was recommending a set I think is still good on Weezing, with the way the tier is going at the moment you'll get as much use out of both items.
Is Magnezone the best non-legendary electric type pokemon in platinum? If not, then what pokemon is the best non-legendary electric type in platinum? Thank you for all your insight!!!!! P.S. I sent this message to you, since you helped me out with my other questions in the thread that got locked! You are really knowledgeable, so I wanted to make sure I get the best answer!!! :)
Oh, yeah! I can host it right now if you want. Again, it'll be on the USA server, and the password to join is PC. Make sure to check "Show Locked Rooms."
Okay, that's actually good. 6-8 PM in the Pacific Time Zone translates to 9-11 PM over here, which is around the time I'm usually online anyways.
Ah, okay. What timezone are you in? I'm in the EST timezone, and I'm usually online at night (at around 10 pm to 12:30 am), though there are certain days when I'm online at noon.
