if you want to stay in and take special hits and use him as a special tank then AV is the way to go, but with his terrible speed stat i would expect having to switch out a lot meaning being locked in wouldbt be terrible

it really comes down to being able to switch moves or not cuz you wont out speed anything without a trick room up. So it is really whether you want to be able to switch moves or hit for more power and be locked in

both make sense, but it comes down to whether or not you want freedom to switch moves. Also he is so slow that you'll have to switch out regardless of item cuz your opponent can bring in a counter so a choice band wouldnt be a hindrance and you can hit a little harder. Try both tho cuz im sure the EV spread isnt to different for each item
