It sort of...died out because of all the flaws. It was a lot of fun for the social aspect- doing missions with friends and such. Now, I dislike shooting games in general to an extent. I LOVE zombie stuff- movies, games, books, TV shows. They dont even need a whole ton of action and guns, either. I have this one book series right now that is really good about zombies- sort of. Its pretty gross, so I wont go into it.
However, I enjoy strategy shooting games with friends. Games like COD is like just shoot-em-up, die, respawn, wash-rinse-repeat. However, a game started to play recently, CS:GO, is super strategic and stuff. You have to work as a team to win. It isn't just about grabbing the biggest gun and killing people. To win, you dont even have to shoot people! It just helps lol...
Yea, my tastes are also different than most people, but more culture and media wise. I am pretty cynical and dislike pop-culture because I believe it gives a poor example to teens. Most teens are addicted to their phones and the kardashians. Much of culture today disgusts me. (Edit: not all of it! I am not totally crazy! :) )
On a more positive note, I think I may try out a game called "Moonrise"- its like pokemon, but slightly different and its an MMO. Unfortunately, its like 15 dollars, so I need to do more research and stuff. It looks a little bit more mature than pokemon though.
Maple story looks cool I guess. I have heard mixed reviews such as its grindy and the "newer" version is not very good. Otherwise, it looks pretty fun! Is it worth a try? It seems pretty polarizing because people either love it or hate it. It seems similar to a DS game i loved when I was younger, so maybe it will bring back nostalgia without the OG game lol.
