Yeah, speaking of deleting stuff and moving on from somewhere....

I'm actually leaving Pokecommunity for good. For reasons i'm not going into, i'm giving up Pokemon from now on. Not because i dislike the series, but it's another reason entirely. That includes this forum, which is Pokemon themed, so....

It was fun while it lasted, but i figured i should at least tell someone about it so i can leave on my own terms. It's been nice to talk with all my buddies and i hope i can find something new to get invested in.

Salamence is absolutely insane and so good. It took me forever to train my Bagon up to evolve in RSE but so worth it in the end, loved wrecking everything with it! The shiny looks pretty nice too. Congrats!! <3 That's some dedication, I'm suddenly inspired to finish the dex in BDSP but ugh SV is so close now that I want to just wait it out lol. Really hope I'll like the game.

and omg, I remember people pointing out those desks weren't friendly to left-handed people so well way back. It's kind of ridiculous that those designs even exist anymore. Hopefully less schools use them now.

Deleted it for you, no problem, members can't see it. I thought it was an interesting question, and meant to get around to answering that one myself, but it's totally your call, if you round rather remove it that's cool. We've got you covered either way!

I'm gonna let that little comment pass... But i kind of get why some don't like the Gen V starters, heh. I have major B2W2 bias since it was the first Pokemon game i've ever played and Snivy was my first ever Pokemon, however it's absolutely abysmal without Contrary. Emboar and Samurott may not stand out compared to the other starters, but i like them all the same.


At this point i've stopped following modern Pokemon after USUM, mainly because i feel like the series has lost its edge. The games are all mind-numbingly easy, the new Pokemon don't have that "zing" factor that made old Pokemon memorable, and most of the characters are kinda forgettable. I don't like to be so negative, but i think it was way better way back when.

Understandable. Likens using a touchpad for Toss It to taking a typing test using only your nose. Could you? Sure. Should you? No. Is not missing out on too much anyways.

Correct on being on the same team. Enjoys pushing for better scores out of some kind of friendly competitiveness. Would never play these games normally. Creates a goal to shoot for, on top of being "useful" for the team. Likes seeing others do well in the Arcade, in that sense. (Admits to wanting to shut Team Arqueros out of Arcade scoring completely too.)

Same on not seeing the new obstacles. Barely saw the spinning star at ~57. Hoped to catch something with the screenshot taken right after dying at 61. Spots only boring stuff: an explosion, triangle laser, Log, and Shooter.

The forum is pretty same-y, i check it daily for notifications or to contribute to discussions. A lot has changed, i think, but one thing's for sure, i'm still the same CInematic Icon!

And it looks like you're still the same Cyndaquil, too! Which is great, since (whispers)I still think the other Johto starters kinda suck ass

Hey, Zeo! It's so good to see you! How's it going? Thanks for checking up on me, i'm doing great! I'm kinda touched that you went out of your way to see how i was doing, actually.

I'd love a proper cure for my ear condition. It's so annoying and gets in the way of my life, but I try not to think about it. There isn't a fix right now and the only options I have are specific kinds of ear drops which don't work at all or sometimes only for a bit at most, or surgeries which have around a 50% success rate.. and then will just stop working within 1-2 years. It's not feasible :( it's a rare condition and sometimes it's hard not to wish I was like a normal person haha.

Space exploration is crazy cool, I still can't believe we can do it. Sometimes it's scary to think about how small we are in the grand scheme of things, and where the rest of life is. Are we early humans and there may not be many others yet? Or are we late humans and others from different galaxies already lived & died out? Really makes me think.

Yeah just 2 teams this year! Am on Arqueros so we're split, but that's okay, still a fun time for me. :D I've been working on the daily trivia questions + spot the difference + some pictionary!

Prefers Hyper Jump over the others too. Feels bad to spam a button or mouseclick and still not get something. Tires out from playing Toss It after more than a game or two. Becomes a bit boring to wait so long in Galactic Wars (and then die to your weapon's tiny hitbox).

Saw your better score. Nice. Will have trouble beating that.

Personally fears the logs and homing bomb more. Never notices the arrow for the logs. Presents a very immediate danger, unlike slower hazards like Shooter and Grenade. Credits a bit of favorable luck in a game like this too. Dodges hazards easier if they occur (or start) far away from you. Eventually hits the jackpot by playing enough.

Understands the triangle Laser being troublesome. Died to that a few times as well. Restricts your movement quite a bit.

Yeah tech changed so much, it's crazy. Smartphones didn't even become popular until around 2015-2016 or so and that was less than 10 years ago.. it does seem like tech advancement has slowed down now though. I do want to get fully immersive VR games one day, without the need for that giant uncomfortable headset haha. It's too bulky and takes me out of the experience, plus the lack of space + needing to be careful with your surroundings when playing.

If anything catches your eye you should give it a shot <3 It's a lot of fun! I played Pictionary last night with some folks and some of the art was hilarious. (You basically get a Pokemon name and have to draw it, and others guess what it is)

Yeah.. I'm sorry Zeo, it's better not to know him personally in those cases :( My dad isn't the best either, though I do think he's trying to be better lately.

Haven't heard of Kid Pix but I went to the library to play games back then too! And Blockbuster for renting movies. ahhh good times

Yeah, it was big for sure. All my friends had cards. I really miss my movie 2 Mew card I got from my teacher in 4th grade, ended up being stolen by a bully kid and I never got it back of course. I've kept most of my games too.. though a lot of them are too old to properly work now. Some don't save anymore because of internal battery errors :(

Oh I'm sorry to hear about your computer, I hope everything's up and running again! I've been away from mine most of August and September, and I am not very good at browsing the forums on mobile. ^^; It's good to have some breathing room in order to attend the GT! I couldn't host Who's That Pokémon this year but there are plenty of trivia-themed games to enjoy! I really love the creative ones, it's nice to see all the ideas people bring. Which events might you try?


That's how I feel as well, I can handle myself a bit better when I've adjusted to someone's presence, but the anxiety does make me very self-conscious and I fixate on my fears. I was homeschooled all my life and grew up in the country due to family life circumstances, so I never quite learned how to integrate into a group, and I was never one for mingling or small-talk haha. Which is okay! I've always been quiet/introverted, only now I'm beginning to accept that, same as you. Sometimes I do still envy those who are outgoing and quick to fit in, but it's much less than it was in my teenage years. How did you start changing your own perspective about that in order to gain acceptance?

And yes it was really exciting back when RB and GS were new! Almost everyone liked Pokémon and it was super exciting to be into it with everyone else. All my friends when I was 8-12 years old liked it, I do wonder if any of them are still into it now or if it's just me haha. Some of my irl friends from junior high like it still though and so does my husband, plus friends like you, so I'm glad I'll hopefully always have fans to talk to. \o/

I ended up just ordering new ones yeah. Amazon had a sale where they were $20 off so I went for it.. then I saw today they're $30 off lol. Oh well, I wasn't sure I'd have wanted to wait even longer to replace them with how impossible it became to play.

Alola is amazing. So glad to see others enjoy it, sometimes it feels seriously underrated but I just like it a lot. The anime was especially good. :3c

I remember a lot of hype for XY because it was the first 3D main game but can't remember much hype for games before that, maybe BW2 but that's it. My memory gets a little more fuzzy for those since it was so long ago aa. I remember the shiny Meta from ORAS too, omg!! Used him on my team I believe.

Interesting, how did you use the alcohol? I have a regular Switch. Found a sale for $20 off joycons at Target and ordered but they got cancelled from lack of stock lol, then I found they were also $20 off on Amazon Australia so I ordered there. Yayy welcome back!! <3 And yeah XY was soo easy. But I still loved it cause it was the first time a main series got a game in 3D, felt so fresh and fun. The rivals are very very forgettable, even Serena/Calem honestly lol.

I'm okay so far, but a bit bummed because my joycon has been drifting so much. Tried to replace the joystick but the screwdriver didn't work and just wore down the nails so I had to order new joycons online. I always did feel a bit bad for the teacher since no one had their cameras on with Zoom classes. I think some classes might have made us turn the camera on? For some reason despite having in-person classes before the quarantine, feels like it's harder to speak up and participate over Zoom...

Pomeranians have always sounded so cute - are they as loud as people say they are? Cases were decently high here but not as high as places in the US yeah. They just lifted the mask mandate on public transport here, think it's just hospitals/medical offices that still have them? Will see how comfortable I feel with that decision lol

I honestly forgot how long the XY intro was.. I do remember the rivals pretty well but goodness are they (Kalos ones) uninteresting. I wish they had a little more depth. They were cool in the anime from what I know, but less so in the games. I think Alola's rivals/characters as a whole were much more memorable and just better overall!

No that's understandable, I get that! Hopefully the time you do get to spend when you go for it is a good time but it's totally OK to not feel up to it sometimes.

Voice calling people online will always be a little nerve wracking especially for the first time with someone :'D I feel like the change between talking to someone via text vs. voice can be quite different. I used to clam up and be one of those people who would type in all voice chats because I'd be too nervous to speak. I'm a lot more OK with it nowadays but it helped that I had friends who liked using voice chat.

Do you have any favourite dogs? For me cats and dogs have always been quite equal, they're both cute so it's hard to decide :( But if I had to pick one, I'd love to own one of those tuxedo cats. They're super cute.

I have never heard of Eddie Van Halen but will check the video out. Mornings are nice because it feels like there's so much of the day left. After dinner it's usually an instant knockout from me...

Hope you've had a chance to VC with your brother, Discord is a good way to catch up with people! I'll often text my sister on Discord even though we live in the exact same house. We'll send each other cursed Tweets at like 3am.. it's a good way not to have to move out of bed. And yes the tracking playtime feature can be nice - what games are you thinking of tracking it with?

Though I got called out once for playing Genshin Impact for 18 hours in a row... in my defence 10 of those were probably me sleeping but definitely caused some concern.

That sounds so fun @ ORAS! Honestly there are so many unloved Pokémon that need some love, you should definitely give that run a try. I had a Delcatty as a kid and copied the moveset of the anime one. Think she had Thunderbolt, Blizzard, and Solar Beam. Using that was honestly soo painful lmao.
