I've looked there, but unfortunately I've had no luck in finding anything.

Oh yeah, I have decided to add in Rattata, Meowth and Pidgey as capturable pokémon within larger cities. These will -only- appear in small alleyways, in order to allow most of your big city travelling to be battle free. They will also always be of a low level, in order to not become a burden when travelling through a city. Afterall, Pokémon are in all environments, so it makes sense.

The mapping needs some touching up. Seems so random and out of place. Though your skills have potential, you should try to be consistant.

To be honest, I have never heard of an oil tanker being sunk, causing a oil spillage before in a Pokémon hack, so to me, it feels rather unique. But ah well, its just the beginning of the story, a catalyst for future events whilst being an important part of them. I did not want to write too much of the story, because otherwise there is little point in playing through it. :)

I come bearing more sketches! An as of yet unnamed 2 stage fire cat pokemon.

Oh, and Druyii, if you'd like some designs made for you, PM me with some details about pokemon you might like (type, base creatures, things like that), and I'll see if I can come up with anything.

  • Hm.

You know that thing that says level script in A-Map in the header?

Yeah, that. There's a tutorial by Cooley called Move Camera and EXTRAS in the Tutorial section that should tell you how to make one. Search it - it's a little old.

If anyone can make sense of it, you should - it's just a few points and clicks. =P The script itself only needs an extra code.

    G'luck in this. =P

Glad you like them. Though sadly on the progress side of things, I am completely stumped. I've looked at the tutorial Ninja Caterpie mentioned, but frankly, the entire thing is confusing the hell out of me. It just won't work when I try it. The script gets wiped out when I attempt to look at it, and a bunch of other things. So I cannot really do much till I get some aid.

Frankly, it is the kind of thing where I need someone on MSN talking me through each part and explaining why I do certain things. The bugs are numerous and confusing.

    1) No message appears
    2) I cannot move the character, which is about the only thing which is correct.
    3) When I try opening the scripts to look at them, they are empty.

    Making me thoroughly lost.

Note: The previous post was deleted due to it's topic no longer being revelant.

    UPDATE:

Some news for you, Swiftsign has very kindly offered to give me a hand with some scripting, which has taken a great weight off of my chest (I shall still be doing Signpost Scripts). Thanks again to you Swiftsign.

This revelation has allowed me to look into deciding all the Pokémon capturable in each area prior to the first Gym, as well as editting all their movesets to be more reflective of their Pokédex entries, and attacks from the Anime. I am pleased to announce that I have editted all Pokémon you can obtain prior to the first gym. I shall give some examples in due time.

Also, all the starters have been decided upon, and Route 1 South has been fully mapped out. Route 1 South contains grassy zones, a river, and a small hamlet known as "Piccolo Hamlet". Some pictures of parts of the Route are attached. I shall not be posting pictures of the entire map, since this ruins the enjoyment of exploring.

Time for a shameless bump! But I have new pokemon designs, so all is well :D

These are all single stage pokemon at the moment, but we may make them into two-stagers if people think the pokemon in question would benefit from them.

We have Pythlon, an electric snake. I'm sick of poison type snakes. In tropical thunderstorms, it charges itself by stretching up to the sky as far as it can go to attract lightning to it.

Armodon, a rock type giant armadillo. A very tough pokemon that specialises in Rollouts, and once it is captured, it will quickly become very protective of it's trainer.

Torquaw, normal/flying toucan pokemon. Torquaw are somewhat territorial, and will snap at intruders on it's territory with it's serrated beak which has been said to even slice through metal.

and Auxillas, the twin pokemon, normal/dark type. Born in pairs, Auxillas will never leave eachother's company on purpose. If they are split, Auxillas will be overcome with lonliness, not to mention becoming completely ineffective in battle. In battle, Auxillas often split up to confuse the opponent before unleashing surprise attacks on them. No one has ever seen Auxillas without their masks or hoods.

    Awesome

    has divided by zero.

Glad to see our work is appreciated ^^

Any idea what the maximum size of a pokemon sprite is? I was thinking about trying to sprite some of my fakemon.

    64x64 dude! ^^
You should always do lots of research before taking on a hack!
There's lots of work involved and people who aren't commited and know thier stuff fail...
I'm sure you know this but seeing as in you're new i though i might let you know xD

Right, my apologies for lack of updates the past couple of weeks, but hopefully I can remedy that now. We have been working hard on ideas, and have come up with some nifty ideas which I am not quite ready to part with yet, mostly due to them being a part of the story. We have also been working on the maps, and Route 1 has been completed, which I am ready to show you now in the spoiler below:

    Spoiler:

Route 1 is a forest and grassland route between the port of Ocarina and the village of Windchime, and a place known as Bass Mountain. It is a route full of docile Pokémon ready for a budding new trainer to capture and train. At the top of Bass Mountain is Dramyin Town, the location of the first Gym of the Ensemble Pokémon League.

Route 1 Consists of three maps termed: Route 1 South, Route 1 Mid, and Route 1 North. Each of these contains similar Pokémon, yet they do have some notable differences between them. The North route has stronger Wild Pokémon to battle, and the Southern Route will eventually contain Trainers to battle. In the Spoiler below, there is an almost full list of those available to capture, just not their exact map locations:

    Spoiler:

With these finished, all that remains is to do Ocarina Port, and the various buildings in these first few maps, and then the beginning can be scripted. Something I am rather excited about.

In other news, we have also had some more interesting concepts for brand new Pokémon to capture, and have plans for editting some of the sprites for those on the first few routes. Planned for this week, is the first map of Bass Mountain.

    Hope you enjoy the Update.

All the Pokemon-Idea pics look amazing, theres a lot of creativity going on here that is going un-noticed!

Paul, I love how you have structured the wild Pokemon as if it was a real habitat - Its nice to see someone put that much effort into something that most hackers rush through without second thought.

Also thats one amazingly large map, each part I can see that you put in a lot of effort in and its really paid off. There are a couple of bits that could be improved upon but other than that its pretty damn good.

Can't wait to start scripting as then some screens can go up! :) Lets rock this  haha

That'd actually be pretty useful. Could you pm me some examples of your OW work? Or link to a thread containing pictures of yours.
