Well, apparently the first episode of BW will actually involve Kanto/Pallet Town, so there is still a pretty big chance at Misty at least making an appearance there. Let's also see how Iris does, and hope she's not like the FAS. Yes, I've heard that she was a wild girl, and thus unlikely to be an FAS, but then again, Kaolla Su was also a wild girl, and she ultimately proved to be no different than an FAS.

I'm probably going to be a bit irritated up to the next week, but it's nothing against you guys as it is that I've been banned from Little Ariel Forums due to my attempts for help in regards to writing a letter to Jodi Benson in regards to an interview, causing certain mods to misinterpret my intentions to be stalking her (even though that was not it, and if I say I don't intend to do so, then I mean I don't intend to do so.), and they haven't even specified when or even IF the ban will be lifted. Even BMGf at least specified. The fact that throughout this week we're having our front steps repaired, resulting in the use of a lot of Jackhammering, and the fact that the halloween store that recently opened on Ashford Dunwoody had some costumes that were completely inappropriate and in very bad taste.

Of course, even if Iris does turn out to be not an FAS, we still need Misty to return so she can actually finish her goal, or at least give us some satisfaction that she's at least actually pursuing her goal and not becoming an entity similar to JJM.

You know, I just went to the AWA Convention, and I noticed something quite interesting about Pikabellechu's car in the dealer room. It contained Pokemon from all generations, including the just released Generation V, yet in terms of human characters, the only two characters seen were Ash and Misty. She could have easily used May, Dawn, or Iris in her place, or have the others appear, but she didn't. I'm wondering if Pikabellechu is a Misty fan.

The first B/W episode premiered and I can say one thing about it, what a disappointment. Pallet Town was a whole SIX MINUTES featuring only Ash, Delilah Ketchum, and Professor Oak. So ladies and gentleman, START YOUR COMPLAINTS!

Yeah, honestly I don't get it. At this rate, Misty will only appear in the openings in still shots.

I'm not going to deny that B/W may turn out even better than DP but that doesn't give them the excuse to forget the first girl.

You know, I could just draw fanart of Misty to make it look like it came from the anime but there's nothing like canon. And also, I've quite run out of ideas for Misty.

And you'd think they'd advertise HGSS one more time by giving Misty similar clothes to her game counterpart but noooo.

Right on. That's a pretty big thing as well. Even if we could make all of the fanfiction in the world with limitless ideas, it still will mean ultimately nothing when it isn't even canon, since we are nothing more than mere insects to the writers. The only time our ideas would mean ANYTHING to the writers is if we overthrew them and took over the company.

And to be honest, from what I've read about the first B/W girl, Misty wasn't the only thing they left out. They also had Ash acting a lot more like his Kanto self. Yes, it's probably filled with nostalgia, but there's a big difference between acting like this when starting your journey, and acting like this right after five regions (counting Orange Islands) and not doing it since the first year up until now. And they also had Team Rocket beating Pikachu. Yes, I know it was most likely supposed to establish them as a threat, but they would have easily done the same thing by beating rookie pokemon easily.

Whatever the case may be, even if it is a lost cause, I'll still fight to bring her back, if not to stop sexism and pornography due to my religious upbringing, then at the very least to actually give her goal closure. In a manner of speaking our even fighting for our independence was a lost cause given the British's obvious superiority over 13 colonies who could barely even fight effeciently. I will not give up on Misty, especially if the only alternative to doing so is for me to transform into an entity similar to Scott85/Gliscor'd/Cybercubed/whatever he's called now and start hating Misty after abandoning her as well as her fanbase, mocking them cruelly and all of that. And I am not one who just sits around and complains, I will make absolute certain that I get the writers to change their minds no matter what. It may take me another three years for me to master the Japanese Language and emulating Japanese culture to the fullest extent, but I will do everything in my power to bring her back.

Yes. I'm very disappointed. Not only because Misty wasn't there, but that whole Pallet part was completely rushed. We didn't see even Tracey. I don't get it. Sometimes they make tons of pointless fillers and sometimes they rush everything like hell, that even the most historical and old characters don't have time to show up. This is shame! I sense some writing change.

This what I'm sure is that I will not follow anime longer. New series doesn't seem interesting for me and that whole not showing Misty only helped me with this decision. Of course I will always be Misty fan and will be coming here. So, just tell me when Misty eventually returns to anime.

are you serious? yet another series without the return of Misty?? I remember when Diamond started, I actually tried watching again, back when Dawn was the new girl, and i couldn't get past the first episode. Too much. I'd totally start w atching again if Misty came back, and I'm pushing 20 years old. I just miss her so much :( I hope they eventually give her story some closure at least. her thing for Ash was forever left hanging. *sigh*

Not to mention her goal, especially seeing how being a Gym Leader will not allow her to become a Water Pokemon Master or even get her that much closer. If anything, it would drive her further from it, especially when taking into account the experience level of her challengers (If Team Rocket can be labelled as completely weakling losers just because of their loss to a Caterpie who was not only completely inexperienced, but also barely even functioning from the start of the match, then Gym Leaders are such as well). Besides, if Ash won't become a Frontier Brain even though that technically would have him succeeding as a Master, why should the Gym Leader be any different?

And I am completely unwilling to abandon Misty, not if the alternative is to become the same kind of monster that Scott85 is.

I'll never understand why Misty is being overlooked by the Pokemon universe. Was she dropped in a black hole or somethin'? I mean, the character lasted longer than any of the travelin' girls, and yet they just conveniently forget about her? Pokemon is an anime that drags on longer than Dragonball Z, and that is an accomplishment in and of itself. In all that dragging, they couldn't once squeeze in some nostalgia for the old fans? C'mon, that's just cruel and unusual punishment if ya ask me!

And another thing: they keep alluding to Misty in openings and with that lure, and yet NEVER do anythin' about it. Why? Are they just the types that like to dangle fruit in front of a starving person while just holding it outside their reach?

People: the Pokemon writers are emotional sadists.

    Simple as that.

I never thought of it that way but I suppose all the proof is there and its undeniable. They can sacrifice a lame battle or training filler for something that older viewers will like at anytime but do they actually go through with that? ABSOLUTELY NOT and there should be plenty of time for this kind of stuff too now that these portions go for entire generations and they are always looking for stuff to kill time between gym battles with. Why not listen to some of the complaints that the long time viewers have and bring Misty back for a while. The younger people will like her too but I think they are afraid that younger viewers will like her more than Dawn or Iris and get turned off of the series.

Well, one more day before Halloween, guys.

Anyways, apparently Iris acts a lot like Misty, so we at least have a successor to her in regards to keeping the FAS at bay, if not eliminating it entirely. Although we can't be absolutely certain until she gets into a situation where she acts differently from any FASs explicitly (like in PvP).

Even so, we won't stop in our goal to bring Misty back, even if she ends up no longer being necessary to carry out the goal of eliminating sexism, because she still needs closure in her goal. As far as I'm concerned, if Ash still has to get closure in his goal, then Misty has to receive the same closure as well, and being stuck at a Gym where she has to constantly lose to rookies is not good enough, not if it is not good enough for Ash.

I've currently got a C in Japanese class, but I need to ensure at least a "B" in Japanese before and master the language before I attempt to storm the Pokemon Company franchise, since I not only need to speak Japanese, but also act it as well in order to even have a chance at getting to convince them, since the last time I sent a person to go to Japan, despite mastering the Japanese language, she couldn't get through to the creators of Pokemon.

  • So Weedle, where are you in Japanese, I've been studying it for about 8 years but since it's self-study, I'm not nearly advanced as I should be but it's ok because it's fun.

Btw, Takeshi Shudō, former writer of the anime and the one who had Misty leave had the reason he had her leave in a blog and someone translated it. It can be found on this page. However, even if Takeshi says Misty never liked Ash, doesn't mean other writers never said that.

To answer your question, I'm nearly done with Introduction to Japanese Part 1. Just one more normal test, as well as a Kanji quiz, an oral introduction and one project before the final exam, and it will be over. I would have been done with it at summer semester, but my professor ended up in a car accident in California that required back surgery, which resulted in the Japanese course being cancelled before we could even get our first test back. I also plan to take Part II during Spring Semester alongside other courses.

And I remember hearing about that on... BMGf. However, just because he didn't want her to be in a romantic relationship with Ash doesn't mean that she should be booted off of the show. There is the fact that that they could have just made them friends without even having to resort to romantic shippings (Or, to put it in Misty's words "He's not [Misty's] Boyfriend! He's a boy and he's a friend, but he's NOT [Misty's] boyfriend!"). I could cite a few shows and even movies where the main female and the main male do not actually pair up and just viewed each other as friends: Monk and Natalie/Sharona from "Monk", Claire Bennet and Zach in "Heroes" (of course, whether he is actually capable of being attracted to her or not is an entirely different matter), Quasimoto and Esmerelda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Disney Version), heck, May and Dawn, even.

Besides, personally I didn't see much of a hint at a relationship anyways. In fact, personally, I cannot fathom a romantic relationship that isn't Love on First Sight unless they at least mention that they loved each other if it is to be long. Then again... I also couldn't see any hints at Claire Bennet being even a closeted lesbian/bisexual in Heroes' previous seasons, or heck, even the final season, yet for some reason people were claiming that she did turn to that direction in the final season, which upon learning about it it drove me paranoid and mad (since it wouldn't have made any sense for her to become that when 1. She has had attractions to the opposite sex, so her becoming a lesbian was not realistic because a lesbian has to never have any attraction to guys since birth, and 2. even if it was bisexuality, it was not even hinted at in previous seasons, and my viewpoint is that they actually try to hint at it first) even with my inability to perceive any hints at a relationship, which made the final season a nightmare, but I digress...

Well, whatever the case, we still need her to return so she can actually receive some closure towards her goal that isn't the Gym.

"*BLEEPING BLEEP BLEEP* pardon my french but if anyone's purpose in the show is questionable it's team rockets. In the first gen they were epic and almost accomplish some of their plans (the hair salon for one) but... COME ON like Giovanni would let his agents stalk the same kid for 5 years and accomplish nothing at all, spending huge amouts of resources on giant robots to steal this one kids little pikachu. Now even 7 year olds can figure out how much sense that makes. Also, after removing Misty they had multiple people take her place, and one pokemon. Also Brock also has less reason to be on an adventure then Misty. He has what 10 little siblings to help take care of, AND he wants to be a breeder, which means studying and staying in one place, so him running about for years with a kid half his age makes very little sense.... So why do the writers think she can be a master of water pokemon if the only ones she sees are

By the way. HI! I would like to join the Misty fan club. I've had a huge crush on her since I was like 7 since I first saw her when I was playing pokemon Red for the first time.

Also my favorite Misty pokemon is her Gyrados

    Welcome to the club.

And Brock had even less of a reason to continue on with Ash, as well. In fact, he arguably had even more of a reason for him to be put in a Gym (to paraphrase the old adage) than Misty ever did, seeing how his Gym had probably failed 2/3rds of the test and was even less maintained than Cerulean Gym. Heck, the first replacement seemed to fold a bit too quickly, and the second replacement actually managed to take her job as Gym Leader even less seriously than Misty's sisters ever did (and you have to admit that that in itself was an accomplishment, and certainly not something to brag about or compliment someone on), and she ruined the gym in more ways than Misty's sisters ever did. I mean, she gave the Gym a very bad makeover, and put a pool in the rock training area which nearly killed a few rock-types, which definitely would have caused it to fail those two parts of the PIA inspections, and most likely would have had it close down, even if she were present. Later, she managed to make it even worse by allowing shady painters (you know who they are) to ruin the gym even MORE than before, and basically, contrary to usual advise to small children, accept plane tickets from total strangers, and basically placed her gym at an unnecessary risk of being stolen from, and to add insult to injury, Forrest, the third gym leader, didn't even stop her, despite the fact that he has complete responsibility of the gym! Despite all this, Brock never returned to take control of the gym, despite the fact that this would have been the responsible thing to do. Personally, I'm quite surprised that he still didn't give the gym much thought. I know if I were him, the very first thing I'd have to think of is keeping the Gym in order and not allow anyone, not even my family members who kept on tarnishing the gym, tarnish it even further.

And if the reason why Team Rocket stayed was because they viewed them as the main antagonists and thus absolutely necessary, then they should have made them an actual threat back in Hoenn and not keep them around as the Comic Relief as they were at that time and wait until BW to actually make them a complete threat. One rule of making the antagonists main antagonists and thus irreplacable in a series like this is that they have to be a threat. I mean, even Bowser, probably a villain who acts like a comic relief character some of the time, at least tries to be a threat some of the time.

Either way, replacing Misty, regardless of how one chalks it up, was a huge mistake, and as evidenced by the ratings that Pokeani provided, the show suffered as a direct result even in Japan. Plus, keeping Ash and removing Misty, since they both have very similar goals, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. What's the point in even keeping Ash and having him follow through with his goal of becoming a Pokemon Master (in which the parameters weren't even defined well at all, not even in DP) if Misty, whose goal is similar, has to contend to basically becoming a punching bag and being beaten down by rookies. From what I can tell, she'll end up exactly like JJM prior to BW in terms of being a completely weak loser if she continues on like this, so she really needs to return to the show, if not to stop sexism and pornography (and for the record, I'm straight, and I'm against it because my religion states that those things are bad, and I try to take my religion very seriously), then at least to actually give her goal some sense of closure.

I feel your pain, most of us want just that to happen. My thoughts toward the Pokemon anime changed dramatically because of Misty's departure and I have to go through some crap from the die-hard fans of the show bashing me because I am "stuck in the past" or are "wearing nostalgia goggles" or "can't move on" and to them I say consider the fact that I am even watching SOME of the show a miracle but if they don't look at it that way then screw them.

The truth is that i am like that too. I am still stuck in the past i watched all the seasons from 1st ep. to the end of Master quest. didnt decide to watch advanced. Pokemon is loosing his originallity. This happened mostly with animes like digimon an example "Remember Digimon first era. it has originallity, until the fourth gen i think when the Digimon was in its least evo. you can lie in on his body (What the hell)" Even i say ****** up. then just look another thing. The truth is that. i AM NOT GIVIN" AN" ACCEPTANCE TO THIS KIND OF ****! You and all the TRUE POKE FAN shall not give any acceptance to this new seasons. the true die-hard fans look up for the games they dont cared about the anime nor even movies since the end of master quest. Look up and youll see. "WHAT AM I SAYIN?" Firstly a true die-hard shall not even care about anime. Secondly as the cases of many DESCEPTIONED fans "I shall just run around the communities, watch pokeshipping (In my case) or any true original ship fanart. and send the next Best wishes season to **** someone else. Thirdly. Post many ideas as you can so The directors could hear it. Even. 4KIDS GIVE AWAY THE DUBBING RIGHTS!!!!RETURN AT LEAST THE ORIGINAL VOICE OF ASH! THATS WHY THE DUB ISNT LIKE THE OLD ONE ANYMORE! And fourth. Protest, give away some opinion about the POKE CRISSIS Level:50(My next thread).

Well, guys, going by the recently passed 156 bill in Japan, the Pokemon Franchise is most likely going to be in very deep trouble, and with it, possibly any chances of Misty ever returning.

The 156 bill is basically a bill proposed by the Democratic Party of Japan which will ban any Animes, Mangas, and Games that have virtual depictions of crimes and/or sex/pornography. Given Pokemon's similarity to animal fighting, and possibly the ex-pokemon directors admission of replacing girls for sexual fanservice, it's very likely that Pokemon will be affected, and it might result in an end to the franchise, if the bill manages to go into effect by July of 2011. We'll still fight to bring Misty back onto Pokemon up to that point, and if the franchise is eliminated, well, then it will be the time to call it quits, as there won't be a point in bringing Misty back if the franchise is eliminated.

Now, if the headquarters move to somewhere outside of Japan, or at least outside of Tokyo, and doesn't get cancelled by then, we can still attempt to bring Misty back.

EDIT: I initially supported the law, although only because I thought it would eliminate pornography for good (I'm a Christian, a servant of God, and I feel as though it is my duty to obey God's commands), at least in Japan. However, after reading Nickstr's analysis on some of the people involved, I've decided to reject it. I still desire to eliminate it, but I cannot allow a law banning Pornography to exist if the laws have loopholes that can be exploited by horrendous people so that they themselves can get away with doing horrific actions and getting away with it scot-free. From now on, I will fight this law passing so that we don't have a repeat of what the Graeco-Roman gods did to mortals, what the Greek Kings and Roman Emperors did to their subjects, what King Henry VIII did to Catholics and his wives, and what Napoleon and his Pigs did to the other Farm Animals in "Animal Farm." I hated that kind of exploitation, and as a result, I also see from those things how middle grounds cannot make a law work, and thus extremes really are needed for laws to truly be successful.

I don't think this will go after Pokemon its still fairly popular in Japan and if that happens it will be heading toward a repeal so fast that it would make your head spin. At this point I am a bit more concerned about collection Pokemon's original series on DVD but sadly Viz has not released any of Johto (except Master Quest but its freaking expensive due to scalpers) on DVD box sets which will work on region 1 NTSC players. As of recently I had to bite the bullet and actually buy a special DVD player which will play discs from ANYWHERE in the world but it was worth the effort.
