This is a WIP. I wanted to finish tonight, but I got tired and went to sleep. I'm hype about this character, and cant wait to start writing her :D

    square

    Venice

    Name: Luciana Vitolo

    Age: 23

    Gender: Female

    Species: Human

Affiliation/Job: Luciana is currently...unemployed. Despite 'grafting' in her search for a stable job, nothing seems to have 'suited her qualities'. While she's had her hand in small jobs for a few families worth mentioning, she's never been a consistent or reliable worker for any family.

Appearance: Luciana's youth is shown in both her attitude towards life and her physical appearance. Her face is bright and heavily expressive even when wearing make-up. She usually wears a vibrant smile no matter what the situation.

As far as masks go, her hazel brown eyes are often faltering, and she struggles at withholding information. Her long brown hair is usually worn is curls and parted, so that it doesnt get in her face when on a 'job'.

While she tries to dress with flash and prestige, her lack of consistent income restrains her ability to do this regularly. Her regular clothing consists of simple tunics(Womens or mens) and worn slacks.

    Personality:
Laid back~ Luciana is unlikely to force any work upon herself. While she is willing to help others, she'll almost always try everything in her power to avoid it before finally giving in. Despite saying that, the word laid back is much more fitting than lazy when describing Luciana. She may do all she can to avoid work, but this doesn't mean she is reluctant to be active outside of things that she has to do. To the contrary, she's actually a hyperactive individual.

Carefree~ Thinking deep or taking the time to reflect is a chore, and Luciana simply prefers not to do either. It's rare that she'll stop and consider the consequences before acting on desire or instinct. As a result, she can often appear very outspoken and headstrong.

Fearless~ Anything she doesn't see as immediately threatening to her life is not to be feared. While others will jump in horror at thee likes of spiders, heights or ominous sounds; Luciana will usually shrug it off as though it's nothing. However, if faced with something immediately life such as a Lion or a Bear, no doubt Luciana will act with the fear of any other human.

Proud~ There are few things she hates more than looking weak, vulnerable or being humiliated. She's never been one to anger easily and handles jokes and teasing very well, but if she finds herself in a helpless position, she'll be very quick to lash out

History: Lucy has lived a peaceful life for the most part. Her family were never exceptionally wealthy, but it's fair to say that they lived quite comfortably with only a small cafe which managed to draw a few regular customers, but never found itself filled to the brim. It wasnt until her mid teens that she began to realise her parents weren't as wealthy as those of her friends. She began to be bullied because of her lack of wealth, and started to succumb to sleepless nights. Like a domino effect, it was those sleepless nights that lead her to notice she wasnt the only one not resting in the nights. Her parents seemed to go out every night. She didnt know where or for what, but she never pursued the desire to know. She caged her curiosity, and lived life as though everything was normal.
To this day, she has no idea whether she made the right decision in not following them. One night, they never returned. Thats all she knows of the situation. She has since moved on, bouncing in and out of jobs since the age of 18.

    Venice
    Crescent

Name: Cynthia "Cindy" MacKenzie (Alias: Crescent)

    Age: 150 (looks 21)

    Gender: Female

    Species: Vampire

Affiliation/Job: Cindy works for House Calvierri, a House with strong ties to the Church, which serves as the primary suppliers and trainers of monster hunters. She is not a member of the Family, and is told she never will be, but serves as the Family's resident monster. Her job is to help train hunters, and to actually be a huntress if the situation is dire. In exchange, she is allowed to feed on members of the staff and keep a collection of baubles in her own room, located in the basement.

    Appearance:
    Spoiler:

Cindy is a rather petite young woman standing at 4' 10" with a thin frame. She has very pale skin and hair of a very deep black, nearly blue. Her eyes are an icy blue, though they turn blood red when drawing on her abilities. It is worth noting that she always has perfect oral health, and is almost always seen wearing simple dresses and a large cloak.

    wtbnoXt.jpg

When wearing her mask, she pairs it with long gloves and more resilient dresses that are easier to move around in, while retaining the cloak.

Personality: Cindy is a very friendly and charismatic person. Although she seems young, she often speaks with wisdom akin to one with years of experience. Her exterior sometimes puts people off, but when they actually talk to her they find she is quite pleasant to talk with, readily sharing facts and swapping stories. She is interested in learning new things and finding old things, and can be easily distracted by shiny objects. She would rather avoid confrontation, physical or social, preferring if everyone was peaceful and happy.

History: Born long ago in the Highlands to the west, Cynthia MacKenzie was the daughter of a merchant. Her childhood was uneventful, and all but forgotten, even to her. Her family moved to Venice after her father acquired a store there, sometime in her early teens. As she grew, she found work as a maid for one of the wealthy Families of Venice. She enjoyed her life, and even caught the eye of the young Lord of the house, a man roughly her age. But one evening, as she was drawing the curtains of her bedroom, she noticed a strange lantern light outside. It seemed to beckon to her, and her curiosity got the better of her.

And like the proverbial cat, her curiosity was her doom. For the light was owned by a pair of ruffians, looking for victims, and one of them was a vampire who couldn't control his appetite. He fell upon Cindy, tore out her throat with his teeth, and drank his fill of her blood. She, in turn, lunged for the second ruffian, a mere mortal. She missed, but her fingers found his wrist, and her new strength allowed her to literally disarm the man. As she drank from the arm, her sire found a crossbow bolt impaling his heart. The hunters soon removed his head, but their leader, the young Lord, recognized the pretty maid under all the blood, and saw the confusion and fear in her red eyes. Pity and mercy won out over fear and hate, and the Lord invited Cindy into his wine cellar, forbidding her from entering the rest of the house.

For years, he kept her locked in the basement, feeding her with the blood of animals. Her mind returned, but her strength didn't. Until the young Lord, who had become the old Lord without her realizing it, offered her a deal. A chance at life, which he had spared all those years ago. She would be allowed to leave the cellar, to see the house again, if she would use her dark gifts to train his hunters. With the alternative either death or this prison, she readily accepted. With her strength at a minimum, all she could rely on was the fighting skills her Highland father had taught her. She managed to survive, and she was sent back to her cellar. "Good work, pretty beast." The old Lord had said. "Get some rest. They will most likely kill you tomorrow."

He said that for five years, but they never could. She grew stronger, and the hunters got better, and one night, she was invited to the Lord's bedchamber. He was on his deathbed, but he proposed a new deal to her. If she swore loyalty to his House, and to train his hunters in earnest, she would be given her life, as he had promised. Not just a monster, but a servant of the House. She could come and go as she pleased, would receive donations of blood from the servants, and could trade her cell for a proper room. In return, she would belong to the Family. She would train the hunters, be a huntress when her abilities were required, and serve the House for as long as she was able. It was the closest thing to freedom a monster could hope for, and the old Lord would finally honor his word to her. She accepted, and has served the Family for nearly a century. It isn't always the easiest of arrangements, but life in Venice isn't always easy...

    Powers/Skills:
    * Vampire abilities and weaknesses (Enhanced strength, agility, and healing; fangs; disoriented by sunlight; repelled by mirrors, the smell of garlic, or strongly presented symbols of faith; cannot enter private property without a proper invitation)
    * Spider Silk Cloak (A magical black cloak that allows the wearer to climb vertical surfaces (such as walls) and move about as easily as a spider does)

Weapons: An elegant rapier with a silvered blade, a backup dagger, and ten throwing knives.

    Vignali

    Names:
    Real Name: Nino (Nee-no) Vignali
Feminine Mask Name: Celeste | Alternate Mask Name: Michelangelo
    Age:
    24
He looks like a child of 9 years.

    Gender:
Male, but due to his childish appearance, he can easily look like a girl with a change of clothing, this is very helpful for his disguise.

    Species:
    Fae

    Affiliation: Vignali Family - Adopted

    Appearance:
Nino has an androgynous body shape being so youthful in appearence, he has puppy fat on his belly and an outward belly button. His face is rather round and his eyes are strange, every person who sees his eyes interpret them as as different eye colour, this eye colour is constant per person but differs by person. They see it either as green, grey or blue. This odd mutation aids him greatly as a boy with blue who stole a piece of bread can't be the same as the boy with green eyes who was caught. . He has messy brown hair. He has a small nose and a big smile. His clothes change depending on who he is but he likes to wear a top hat with a white band with a dusty green coat. His normal mask, or combat mask, is a night blue with pieces of glitter dotted about as stars . However this is just if he needs to blend. His more extravagent masks come about when he is someone else. For his main Celeste mask, he has a main purple mask with big flumes of feathers and spirally random lines going every which way. For Michelangelo he has red one with a pale sunrise. He also has others such a full face mask that imitates the face of a grecian statues. Or a medieval knightly helmet. For his main personalities he usually wears a large white dress to play the part as Celeste for the formal occassion, on day to day basis, he wears a shawl and a dark grey and green dress. He has several disguises for his male personas including beggar, servant, orphan, et cetera

    Personality:
The Fae are known for mischief, and mischief is something that Nino excells at. He is really energetic and bouncy alike his childish nature. He has the mind of a child, imagination as vast as oceans, but lacks the focus of an adult. One part of his persona that strays from the concept of juvenility, he has the cunning acumen grew by experience. He is exceptionally good at learning skills and this has helped him in becoming experienced at so many jobs. This combined with his infantile personality has made him a deadly weapon and extremely useful asset. He has a very keen eye for disguise, and can almost imitate out what people would expect him to do as his disguise. He can also be bored easily if he isn't doing anything. If he gets fed up of being treated like a child he uses a enchanted mask that makes him look like an adult human. He enjoys making new and different masks and clothing and gets very excited when doing something he likes.

    History:
Venice, the city of trade, the city that ruled itself, the city of secrets. Fae were said to be almost legend, unbeknownst to the people of Venice, fae were there. Nino came from a fae family. His family was quite poor, to the humans they looked like they were a very young family and so they were chastised for being so young and having a family. Being unliked by the culture they were prejudged and weren't offered much work or accomadation. So from when Nino's mother was visibly pregnant, looking about 16 in human's view, their life deteriorated from there. Eventually they couldn't pay for their propert and were evicted. Nino's father fell ill and eventually died, leaving his mother alone.

In the filthy slums of Venice, Nino was birthed in to the world. Until he was about old enough to scamper about and steal food and other items, his mother fell ill also. In these times, a cold went untreated and was fatal to the poor. Nino adopted the life of a urchin, a orphan beggar, the sorrow story that was rife within the Venetian slums. However he did not dwell on this, he stole to survive, he killed to loot, he disguised to harrass. But when the Vignali family adopted him. He had the resources to make better disguises, work harder, better, faster, stronger. He was no longer alone. And he has improved his skills for the years onwards he has worked.

    Powers:
As a fae he has all of the reality bending powers of as one expects. He has a fondness to play with door ways. Oft he will scamper in to a door and pursuers will walk in to a wall or come out through a different doorway

    (Skills:)
Pickpocketing, spying, acrobatics, scouting, fencing (Merchandise), distracting,

Weapons: He owns a violin which has a crossbow inside of it. It has a manual trigger but it is also enchanted so it goes off if a certain tune is played.
And a bunch of knives and swords.

    Roleplay Sample:
    Sample

This is under construction, Currently deciding what family he can go in to.

Carlo De Luca | La Musa
    mask_zpsluy37rsb.jpg

    21 // Human // Male

Affiliation: The De Luca family. Carlo and his brother Andrea work for their father, a merchant.

Appearance: Carlo has deep olive skin, brown eyes and wavy black hair that he keeps just above his shoulders. His family, while of generous means, needs to stay inconspicuous to the everyday masses and more importantly, to the church, so he dresses well – but not so well that a beggar on the street would try to pick his pocket. He has a mole on the right side of his face, just below his left eye that distinguishes him from his older brother, Andrea. Although on occasion, while masked, the confusion regarding which De Luca brother someone is speaking to comes in handy.

Personality: In his trade, making connections while looking for ulterior motives is crucial. He tends to speak in a way that can annoy straightforward people, by talking around a situation, rather than directly. He has a tendency to assume most people are out to get him, but tries hard to keep that hidden, as to not undermine the integrity of his family's business. This results in Carlo being friendly and personable one minute, drawn and anxious the next. He reveals only the shallowest details about himself and his life, but is fine debating (to an extent) current events, philosophy and politics. It just depends on who is doing the debating.

History: Carlo's family is hugely devout, his uncle having a high post within the church. He grew up being taught the scriptures and being told to recite them until his mouth was dry and the words grew jumbled. His father, Marco, a merchant who sells pigments and materials to local artisans and painters, is considered a dependable man in the community. However, as a boy, he fell into the crowd that was fascinated by the physical world and what it had to offer them. They would sneak off after dinner to sit by the river throwing stones at fish and discussing everything they could about science. All these boys were raised pious, so they had to find other means of obtaining this information.

They would break into old libraries at the university after dark and read as much as they could about chemistry. Each one would grab a different book and study a different element. Some days, they would walk to the seedy of town and hide in an alley next to a corner where a homeless drunkard would rant about alchemy to people passing by who were too insulted by his stench and appearance to do much about him. Marco and his friends would ask him questions until he passed out.

Their visits to the old man stopped when they found him sitting on his usual corner covered in a pool of his own blood. Dried masses of deep red stained his tattered clothes and the open cut on his throat.

As the use of magic grew, Carlo's grandfather, urged both his sons to try working for the church to help it remain powerful against it. His brother agreed, but Marco's secret interest made the church a revolting option. He instead helped his father with his shop, selling pigments, horse hair, wood, and other specialty items to painters and artisans alike. This satisfied his father enough since most painters were commissioned by the church. This way, both this boys were doing their part. After their father died, Marco completely took over the family business and expected his sons Andrea and Carlo to follow suit.

The family business remained the same, local artists still expected quality supplies for their schools and studios. Although now they acted as an intermediary between those interested in the sciences and the materials they needed. Painters would visit their shop, asking for a certain pigment, and depending on who they were and what they knew, that pigment could contain different elements that alchemists and those needing to boost their magic would find beneficial, and they were always willing to pay very handsomely for these materials.

This operation didn't come without risks, people involved with the church, including their own family, were aware of sins being committed around the city and weren't against hiring "help" to stop this from spreading.

    Powers/Skills:
    - In depth knowledge of the church, the scriptures and rituals. He also knows a lot about elements and the basics of alchemy through his work, but not enough to practice alchemy on his own.
    - Mind Reading: This is specific to Carlo and Andrea alone. No matter where they are, they can communicate information to one another through signs, and when their powers are stronger at night, can actually hear each other's thoughts. They cannot read the minds of anyone else.

    Weapons:
    - A small dagger that he carries in his pocket for protection when he conducts business. He sharpens the blade regularly and is sturdy enough to have lasted him the last five years. It has been used more frequently as of late.

  • Name: Gabriel Lorand Vignali / Alias: The Holy Man

    Age: 33

    Gender: Male

    Species: Human

    Affiliation: Vignali

Appearance: During the day Gabriel wears typical, if a bit dark, Venetian clothing. He is of a middling height with dark brown hair and plain brown eyes. He keeps a neatly trimmed goatee and never goes out without making sure that he looks well put together. He never leaves home without his longsword, and always wears a necklace with a cross on it, which is the only thing he wears during the day to mark him as a religious man.

At night he dresses in mostly black, although underneath his outer clothes he wears a light chainmail shirt, usually enough to stop lighter weapons from slashing his chest. He also wears a golden mask which covers everything from his nose up.

Personality: Gabriel can be described as a man of logic, of cool and calm determination, not letting emotion cloud his judgement, at least on the surface. He upholds the laws of the church and sees things in a very black and white way, that men are either right or wrong and there are no shades of gray. He believes that monsters, however, can't be good, and that all monsters are evil, as is taught by the church. To a point he doesn't even questions the orders of those that he follows, believing the church to be infallible and that his orders are by inspiration of God.

He respects the rest of his family highly, seeing mostly what other people see of it, a wealthy influential family of Venice. His family keeps him in the dark about their darker transactions and their dealings with monsters, and while he can sense that his family is hiding things from him, he still trusts and respects their decisions and judgements.

History: Gabriel was born into the Vignali family, and grew up within the wealthy family tutored privately within the walls of the Vignali mansion. His father was one of three brothers, the middle brother, who were next in line to inherit the family name and business. His mother was of the Episcopo family, a family deeply tied with the Christian church in the city, the marriage between his mother and father being more political than romantic in any way. Nevertheless it was a happy marriage, and both parents loved their child deeply.

His early life he was a rebellious child. Although he was intelligent and excelled at his classes, he was a rebellious child and would run off whenever given the chance to explore the alleys and canals of Venice, much to his mother's annoyance. Although the alleyways of Venice can certainly be dangerous, they are much less so in the richer part of town where the laws are more strictly upheld, at least on the surface, and certainly less dangerous during the day.

The only dispute that his parents had that affected Gabriel was that of faith. Being from a religious family, his mother wanted him to follow the same path, but his father did not care much for religion, calling it "A tool to control the masses". Originally, he would follow his father on this point, finding life much simpler and more enjoyable without the restrictions of religion and the laws weighing him down.

This changed however with the death of his father as an older teenager. His father was found one night in his chambers slumped in a chair, dead. The official story was that he had been killed by a heart attack. Gabriel, however, had a hard time believing that, and he as a seventeen year old started to investigate his father's death obsessively. Eventually, after digging deeper and deeper, he discovered that his father had been poisoned with a rare concoction that only the elite of Venice could afford. His investigations lead him into the knowledge of the dark underworld of the city, revealing to him the monsters and demons that lived among them. Finally his family put a stop to his personal investigation, afraid that further snooping around would lead to his own death as well.

Under what was essentially house arrest, the angry and grieving man sought anything to take his attention away from the source of it, and his mother used the opportunity to try to further his faith. This actually succeeded, although unbeknownst to her the reason for her success was not due to any spiritual revelation, but by a thirst for revenge against the monsters of the city which he believed caused his father's death.

And so as a young man he was thrust into the religious world of Venice, and had his wishes granted being trained in the holy scriptures and taught to be an inquisitor. Along with the training came certain abilities given through artifacts, trinkets the church had collected over the many years, claiming the abilities that they may grant people be gifts from God.

Now almost fifteen years later, Gabriel is completely indoctrinated within the church, and believes very strongly in what the church teaches in right and wrong. Most days he will work for the church in working to track down monsters or artifacts, although he often continues to work within his family as well overseeing deals and transactions, using his skills to ensure they go smoothly and without deceit. His family tries to keep him in the dark as much as he can, protecting the monsters that they deal with.

    Powers/Skills:

Divine Shield: Gabriel gains a protective aura about him which creates a yellow glow. This is capable of turning away blows, although keeping this maintained is very difficult to do, and any distraction or hesitation can cause the shield to fall. In addition it is difficult to make any attack while using this, the concentration to attack and defend being just a bit too much for him.

Perceiving Intent: Gabriel is able to interpret the intent of the words that people are saying, meaning he can usually tell if someone is lying or not. There is no particular science to it as it gives more of a feeling than a straight yes or no. This is a skill used quite a bit by the Vignali family, and have him oversee deals trying to tell if the other party is going to double cross them.

Skilled Swordsman: Gabriel is a quite accomplished swordsman, and prefers longer swords than those popular with other Venetians.

Weapons: Gabriel's main weapon is a longsword, about 95 cm long, double bladed. It is forged of a pure steel by the church, and has a plain steel crossguard. He also has a claymore gifted to him by the bishop as well, however the 140 cm blade is usually too long and cumbersome to use within the alleyways of Venice where fights usually take place.

He also owns a stiletto which he always carries with him, and uses it for more close quarter combat, although he avoids it if he can.

Mostly done. I might go back and change a few things, I'm never happy with my first go. Also CSS is on the way eventually, but there is the important stuff for now.

    Sheog the Demon

Oh yes, I know him. God of biscuits or something right?

Name: The demons name is Sheog, and it poses as the human Albus Deamillia

    Age: 293

    Gender: Male

    Species: Demon

    Affiliation: Deamillia family

    Appearance:
    Spoiler:

    Personality:
Albus is a kind and generous soul, who likes children and wishes he had married and had kids of his own, as such he tends to give free sweets to the young orphans who visit his shop, he thinks of those orphans as his kids and often lies to the authorities when one of them has gotten in trouble with the law, or one of the families.
Sheog was born from pride, and as such he has quite the ego, and being a demon he has a fondness for blood and carnage, and loves to inflict pain on those whom he views as sinful, however he is disgusted by rightous people who have never done anything wrong at all, he finds them imensly boring and enjoys slaughtering them just as much.
Binding himself to a medalion took its tole upon him, and as such he has become eccentric, brash, and oblivious to the world outside of his head. This causes him to wear strange clothes, say weird things, and gain an unhealthy obsession with... cheese?

    History:
Sheogg was born from a prideful young alchemist who was burned by the church, upon being released, sheogg was bound to a medalion and locked away deep in the churches catacombs. However when one foolish grave robber took the medalion home and put it on, the spirit was able to possess the man. Seeking revenge, Sheog hunted down every last person who aided (Or they're descendants, as it had been quite some time.) in his binding and ripped out their still beating hearts and burned them. However after realizing that he had been poisoned by holy water, he found himself losing control of his vessel. Wandering around the streets of Venice he bumped into quite the scene at a local candy shop. A young girl was on the verge of death and a very distraught man named Albus wept over her death. Sheog offered the man a deal, take the amulet and allow the demon to take his body and Sheog would save the girl. Albus accepted on the condition that he would only have control of his body when the moon was out, and once he did Sheog was given a new, healthy host whom he once again had full control over. He later joined a group known as the Deamillia family who promised to aid him with his goal of total and utter destruction of the church.

    Powers/Skills:
As with most demons, Shoeg has some telepathic powers, being able to manipulate objects or people with sheer willpower.

His demon blood is also immune to most diseases including Vampirism and Lycanthropy.

He is also much stronger and faster than average humans.

He is immune to most forms of weaponry, although there are a few things that can kill him. Magical flame, also known as Spirit fire, and a holy relics. However, Iron, Salt, and silver are known to weaken a spirits power.

He also has alchemical knowledge, and can aid others in transmutations, generally at the cost of their souls, this is known as a demonic deal.

    Weapons:
While prefering to use his own to hands to do his dirty work, Sheog does have a two enchanted swords, one known as Hopes fire, and the other known as Dooms flame. Both of which are capable of creating a stream of fire from their blades. Sheog likes to say that they are keys to the doors of the afterlife, however that is probably just something his scrambled brain came up with.

  • I really do have an SU coming I promise.

    Edit: Here it is

    Adalina "Pixie" Capello
    ffViYfC.jpg

    Aged 21 | Female | Fae

Affiliation/Job: Adalina is not affiliated with any family in particular. She makes her living by stealing various treasures and artefacts from various museums and families and then selling them to others. She prides herself on her thievery and loves a challenge however, so she will usually attempt to steal pretty much any target once she feels she has you at the highest price you'll go to.

Appearance: Adalina is of a small frame and stature, standing at 160cm in height and only weighing about 40Kg or so tops. She has pale but impeccably clear skin and despite being a young adult looks more like she is in early-mid adolescence. Adalina has long and wavy orange-red hair that is usually worn down, reaching her lower back. Her eyes are a quite large and are a light shade of grey-green and her features are lithe and angular, but also somewhat soft. Adalina's ears come into light points but not so distinctively as for her species to be too easily discernable from humans.

As was usually the case in the 1800s, Adalina wears a dress when in the public eye. Her favourites being of light material in shades of warm colours such as orange, red, pink and occasionally yellow. Beneath this garb however she wears a pair of brown tights and a sleeveless, tunic-like top usually in a similar colour scheme to her dress choices. It's much easier to do her work in the more gender-neutral attire. Adalina's shoes are always enclosed and flat in case she needs to start running regardless of attire and she wears no jewellery.

When working, Adalina wears a black mask that covers the upper hemisphere of her face, leaving below her nose exposed but covering everything else. Said mask is in the design of a butterfly and is extremely intricate. It should be noted though that she will often don other masks if she deems it necessary.

Personality: Fae's are often described as mischievous and that is the best way to describe Adalina herself. Adalina thrives of off the chaos she causes the various crime families of Venice and getting herself into trouble – and the bigger the hubbub she causes the better as far as she is concerned.

Adalina is calculating and clever, but she isn't without her faults either. She is hungry for recognition and revels in her alter ego as Pixie the master thief who loves to spite the crime families and government of Venice alike and who will steal anything you pay her to. She takes pride in her skills and in that persona, which can lead her to take on tasks that are out of her league and whilst she has been successful in most of her endeavours thus far, it is liable that she will eventually land herself in some real trouble. Adalina frequently fails to consider the implications of her actions on herself and others but is driven by a desire for the rush of the heist and recognition beyond her humble upbringings.

Despite her seeming lack of morals and her criminal behaviour though, Adalina is not a bad person. She has surprisingly strong convictions about a lot of things, she never steals from the innocent if she can manage it, is happy to give a little bit of coin to beggars who are worse off than she is and above all else Adalina refuses to take another life. She is not an aggressive individual in the least believing that it is far from her place to judge whether a person should live or die and preferring to discombobulate and flee with her Fae magic rather than fight.

Overall, Adalina is a person desperate for the recognition of the world around her. She wants people to remember her for something after her death be that good or bad. She will go great lengths to achieve renown, often stepping on others in the process. However at heart she is a kind person and should she ever discover how terribly her actions have effected innocent people it would cause her more pain than she could possibly imagine.

History: Adalina's origins would likely seem boring to most. She did not experience any great trauma as a child, she was not born amongst Venice's criminal families or their servants nor has she any ties to royalty or the Doge. Adalina was born to a simple, small Fae family in an unassuming a poor district. Few could have predicted who she was to become later on in her life.

Adalina was raised well. Her parents, although Fae, refused to take part in the criminal goings on of Venice and they made sure that their daughter was kept as far away from the unsavoury people of the city as possible. Adalina's parents rarely made use of their magic, her father worked a normal job as a tailor whilst her mother remained at home to care for her daughter and educate her to the best of her ability.

The young Fae however was not always content with this simple life. Adalina was a rambunctious girl and would often roam the streets of Venice with other children of poorer families. They were not bad children, but they were not prim and proper, law-abiding citizens either. Their games often involved getting into mischief, producing a kind of excitement for Adalina that she would never get from her mother's lessons or a simple toy. There was never anything quite as fun as breaking the rules a bit. It was in these early years that Adalina acquired her love of a challenge, her delight in thievery and also her talents for stealing and escaping.

As the years wore on and she became older, it was becoming more and more evident that, even for a Fae, Adalina was young looking. It was also at this time that the Doge and the church begun an active manhunt for monsters in an effort to weaken the power of the crime families. As simple folk with no criminal connections, the Capello family quite probably had little to hide. However her parents new well that Adalina was not always as well behaved as they would like. These factors combined made them fearful for their daughters safety. They became overprotective and worked harder and harder to separate Adalina from her friends, never realising that more often than not she was an instigator of their antics more than a follower.

It didn't take long for Adalina to become bitter and resentful. Not only of her parents, but also of the crime families, the Doge and the church. The former for their excessive sheltering and to those with power for creating the problems that resulted in her situation. She begun engaging in more dangerous activities and begun to become a part of a network of shady individuals. At first she was merely a petty thief, however her talent for the unseemly art of thievery was obvious and she tired of "heists" that were too easy. It was at this time that Adalina took her first truly criminal job, stealing a minor artefact from a small-time criminal group so it could be resold. She did not hesitate to take the job and was successful. She took the artefact to her employer, and was paid more money than her father made for days of tailoring. It was on that job that Adalina discovered not only that she could make money with her talents and that the adrenaline rush of a real heist was much greater than that of petty thefts, but it was also the beginning of her new identity. It was not long after this event that rumours of "Pixie" the master thief had begun to circulate.

    Powers/Skills:

    • Magic - Adalina is quite skilled with her fae magic. Her specialties are metamorphosis and conjuring. She is adept at producing objects out of nothing and changing objects from one thing to another. These skills are useful in deception, escapism and even in combat should that be required (although she is still limited by her stature and strength).

Another ability that Adalina frequently uses is the ability to lay jinxes and curses on people. These spells are typically somewhat lasting and can be more general or very specific. The potency of these curses is typically proportional to the seriousness of Adalina's situation and to the mood she is in whilst casting them. Typically they don't cause any huge harm to people however they can also become highly dangerous.

In addition to those two abilities that are Adalina's more practised, she also has access to other reality-warping skills. Some of these she is somewhat versed it whilst others she is yet to discover.
    • Cunning - Adalina isn't necessarily the most book smart person around but she's far from being stupid and is extremely quick-witted and street savvy. She is highly skilled at spinning stories and getting herself out of problematic situations.
    • Escapism - Adalina is particularly talented at running away. She's is lithe, quick on her feet and very agile. Which in combination with her clever thinking and the magic she has due to her species gives her a gift for escapism. If one wants to trap or contain her they need to be pretty thorough.

RP Sample: James being a colossal douche in Railways
