Ten days... and still only four votes. Is this still worth writing for? Sigh.

Ah well, I'll be updating again tomorrow. Hopefully some more votes will appear.

37. They should write a book about this

Location: Near Lornami Town

"Yes, in fact I do have a question: can you tell me something about the use of these." you say while showing your fishing rod. "I mean, besides the basic boring fishing."

Both people seem to want to answer to this, but Gregory was faster. "That's a nice rod you got there, kiddo. Top quality too, I can see that on first glance. A fishing rod is as necessary in a survival kit as duct tape! My rod isn't treated less as a pet than Jake."

Alina shortly interrupted him to explain Jake is his Vileplume.

"Eh yeah, my Vileplume. Anyway, I can rant about fishing rods for the rest of the day, but we have an appointment elsewhere, so I'll keep it to the basics. First of all the string can be used as anything you can use string for anything you can use string for, like tying something up. As addition to a normal rope, the nylon line is nearly invisible, which makes it useful as tripwire. Furthermore you can use it to reel in items beyond your reach, or even the opposite: you can attach something to the hook and make it float at a distance."

"Okay Greg, that's enough for now, shouldn't we be going?"

"Eh yeah, maybe we should. Bye pal, see you around."

"Goodbye and good luck catching yourself another dragon." Alina added.

They hop on the jeep to leave you behind by yourself and your Pokémon. You follow the path Gregory pointed earlier and arrive in Lornami Town twenty minutes later. The town feels strange. Odd scents fill the air, the few people you see on the road have an uncommon dressing style and even the shapes of the buildings are unusual. Circles play an important role in the local architecture, which seems to fascinate Jingles.

What do you do?
1. Visit the big central building. Is it a town hall?
2. Ask a random passerby to tell you about the town.
3. Let's look for some supplies, we'll move on afterwards.
4. Whatever, the quicker you reach the Lakes, the better.
The next chapter can be expected in about 48 hours, back in regular schedule.

I'm conflicted... what if they're not welcome to outsiders but we need more info, it may be important who knows.

I think extra supplies can't be a bad thing! I mean, this is the Pokémon world where even a flippin' bike can fit in your bag, regardless of other stuff. xD

38. Strange religions

Location: Lornami Town

This town is a really interesting place, nothing like Bluestream where you grew up or the cities you've been to on occasions. The people may look creepy wearing brown cowls, often hiding their faces under the hoods, but you can't go against your curiosity. Using all the bravery you have, you start talking to the person closest to you. "Ehm... hello? What is this for town? What are you people doing?"

"Ah yes, you're not from here. Looking at you, I say you're even from the other side of the region, am I right?" Before you had the chance to reply, she continued talking. "Welcome to Lornami, youngling! Here we aim to find the true meaning of life. We are no ants like those citydwellers, who live in offices with three people on a square foot, working all day long for a few pieces of paper they call money. Only a few things are certain, we can feel those as so-called truths of the mind during meditation. Ages ago, the Unown have granted us the alphabet that enabled us storing our findings on external sources to reread them later. We devote our lives repaying them for what they did."

"Ehh..."
1. "How do you spend your day here?"
2. "Where are those Unown you're talking about?"
3. "Can you learn me to reach the mental state in which I can see the truths of the mind?"
4. "You're boring. I'm outta here."
The next chapter can be expected in about 48 hours, back in regular schedule.

I kinda want to go with the second option, but we should learn to be more sassy. ;)

(Also, I have a feeling that we'd get into a really creepy situation if we stuck around this place!)

I think our player shall be resistant to instances of theism unless a deity wants to be on the team.

#4 as well.

(And wow the votes are dwindling. Where did everyone go??)

I've been asking the same question a lot lately. It's terribly depressing. I guess it's easy to lose attention to the thread, certainly with those few hiatuses I had to take, and too time-consuming to catch up when you got behind. Hopefully it will change soon, otherwise I'm inclined to write towards an endpoint of the story...

#4, because we don't need to hear about boring religion, all we need to know is whether or not there's a pokemon gym here.

so, since i'm new, i don't yet have the level of sass required to just leave people in the middle of their explanation... i'll go with #1.

39. Boring people are boring

Location: Lornami Town

"Yeah, whatever. I'm outta here, gotta go catch myself some dragons at the Gonji Lakes. Bye." you say and walk away, heading northwards.

You hear the woman still talking to you behind you. "You're leaving already? There was so much I wanted to tell you." Then her voice suddenly turns deeply-pitched and dreamy. "Beware! Watch out! The tongue is longer than you think! The fruit, yes, a savior is nearby." That wasn't creepy at all.

You run away as quickly as you can without looking back, until the town is out of sight. While you take short breather, you can finally take some time to look around. The landscape has changed a lot in comparison to a few miles back when Gregory drove you around. The swampy soil performs as the perfect ground for a vegetation you're not used to.The trees carry big fern-like leaves, the bushes are grown with strange-looking purple berries and even the grass has a disgusting shade of green. On the opposite side of the lake closest to you, you see a Goomy. Goomy, a blob that's officially registered as a dragon! This is what you've come for.

How do you reach the Goomy?
1. Reach it? You can easily throw a Pokéball from here.
2. Go for a swim.
3. Go Surfing on Squirty.
4. Send Wynia and Scrambles to the other side.
The next chapter can be expected in about 72 hours.

5. Find some way to the other side WITHOUT having to go in the water.

...No? Okay then, #4 it is.
