Ultimate Monotype Challenge

Okay, so today I thought to myself... Man, I'm getting tired of these monotype runs, so I figured I'd start on several runs at a time (Yippee!). I'm still doing my Grass mono and my Normal mono, but meanwhile I'll sign up for a Dragon mono, starting in LeafGreen, because since I'm using emulators, it seems I can only trade between games from Gen III. So yea, here goes.

Ok, so for whatever reason I chose Charmander as my starter. Sadly, even though Charizard is very dragon-like, I won't be able to use it... So, as soon as possible, I traded a Dratini in from my other LeafGreen savefile, and so I started - After some grinding and some frustration, because Dratini doesn't obey that much, I managed to get to Pewter City, where I kicked Brock's ass by spamming Twister.

I am not looking forward to Whitney's Miltank, but hopefully I'll be able to grind up for Leech Seed. Alternately, I'll get lucky with Metronome and Miltank will be less useful.

It just sucks that I need to beat Whitney before I can go to Ecruteak and start on Morty so that I can get a relatively early Gligar. I'm not looking forward to being underlevelled for Mahogany Rocket Base, but Gligar is more important.

Lots of switches, very long battle, Toxic is a life saver, Espeon is hell, Revive is also a life saver, Dynamic Punch ftw, hax was mainly on my side, and Red was truly the hardest trainer I ever battled.

Finally, done with Crystal, now to Emerald.

-got bulbasaur and charmander, the latter of whom will be my cut and strength slave slave
-Sandshrew evolved on nugget bridge
-got ticket from bill
-beat misty with a few horn attacks
-evolved nidorino after battle with misty
-did some training on the route east of vermillion, where geodude evolved
-didnt battle everyone on ss anne, but walked through rival
-taught charmander cut, and pikachu flash
-OHKO'd surge's raichu with dig by sandslash (lvl 25)
-got squirtle (pokedex filler to get flash)
-made way through rock tunnel, fairly easily, just annoying and boring
-went to celedon, sold some stuff, bought some lemonade, traded for the awesome TM's on the roof
-caught spearow and taught it fly
-beat erika with just nidoking's new ice beam
-headed into the rocket hideout

Current Thoughts: Not a hard play-through, at least at this point. I can't evolve Graveler. I LOVE the Gen I TM List, or at least how easy it is to get awesome TM's like Ice beam and Thunderbolt

Intresting note, bad luck has descended on Sinnoh....Attacks have been missing like crazy, every Pokemon that has physical'd Seraph has been poisoned, enemy pokemon never hurt themselves in confusion, it's been wierd.

So, I just defeated Lt. Surge. Despite the fact that I'm overleveled, this is quite the challenge, because Dragonair doesn't really obey me - I lost to Misty two times in a row, because Dragonair wouldn't listen, and because her stupid Starmie kept using Recover. I'm just about to go through the Rock Tunnel, which I fear a wee bit.. Anyway, my "team" so far:

Advancement wise, Pokey learned Sweet Kiss and was taught Rollout, and Grey Eagle evolved into Pidgeotto. Woodsey is being kept from evolving until after Level 30, for teh movez.

-finished rocket hideout and got silph scope

-in the pokemon tower had a wild cubone down to like 1 hp...but had nothing to catch him in...

-beat the fighting dojo, choose hitmonlee
-beat rockets in siplh, got lapras and the master ball (which is PC bound, like all my hm's, moon stones, tickets, keys and any other stuff i cant sell)
-beat sabrina fairly easily, slash is critical hitting every time...
-headed south from lavender towards fuchsia
-trained graveler and sandslash only on the way (nidoking gets the water routes all to himself)
-walked through koga
-got surf and the gold teeth from safari zone, also caught a ryhorn, and a nido female, oh and a kangaskhan! (dont plan to use the ryhorn or nido)
-taught charmander strength
-surfed south
-in seafoam island, horn drilled articuno for the EXP
- couldnt get out the other exit, so i dug back to fuchsia and fly to pallet and went south to cinnabar
-didnt battle any trainers in the mansion, just got the key
-easily beat blaine, i love horn drill sometimes
-headed back to varidian
-beat giovanni, and blue before going into indigo
