I've been really busy with school though, I'm almost at the third
GYM, so a real update is coming soon.
    For this "update":
    Pames evolved
    Met Bill
    Got the S.S. Ticket
    Thaught Pames Dig

Not saying team yet as it's not a real update.

I think I'm going to play LeafGreen and Platinum with only normal types. Is it fun?

Heck yeah, it's fun. I've never tried Normal, but it sounds fun since you can have a huge variety of Pokemon and attacks. But you can't just play LeafGreen and Platinum. You have to go through all the generations. That's why it's the Ultimate Monotype Challenge. Have fun with it!

    ---

It's excuse time! I had exams, which is why I fail at updating.

Recap. I'm using the Fire type. I have Tyson the Typhlosion and Arwen the Growlithe. Last time, I made it to the Indigo Plateau and I was desperately waiting for a Fire Stone and have been waiting for the majority of the game.

    • I finally got a Fire Stone! YES. I actually found a way to cheese the game out. If you go to your house and ask your mom to change to either Daylight Savings Time, then back, then you almost always get a phone call from someone. It still takes a long time, though. I hope that's okay, though. I feel kind of bad for being ridiculously overleveled, though. I promised myself I wouldn't train at all besides getting experience from trainers, but I'm still overleveled. Sigh.
    • Finally evolved Arwen.
    • Deposited all my extra Pokemon. Sayonara, HM Slaves!
    • I have 262274 dollars. Shopping spree time!
    • Still have 190874 dollars. I'm saving that for Red.
    • Still feels bad for being overleveled. I wanted more of a challenge...

Yea, okay, I still haven't beaten Candice, but I've been grinding Roserade and Abomasnow like hell. I wanted to grind Roselia up to level 40 before evolving her, because I wanted Petal Dance, and well... Snover evolves at level 40. Right now, I'm doing some grinding at Iron Island, and when 'm done, I'm gonna take Candice on. Anyways, I finally have my final team assembled, although some of the movesets aren't complete just yet:

    389.png
    Torterra, lv. 55
Lonely // Overgrow // Soothe Bell
    - Razor Leaf
    - Return
    - Earthquke
    - Crunch

    413.png
    Wormadam, lv. 52
    Gentle // Anticipation // SilverPowder
    - Shadow Ball
    - Psychic
    - Bug Bite
    - Razor Leaf

    470.png
    Leafeon, lv. 54
Naive // Leaf Guard // Amulet Coin
    - Strength
    - Aerial Ace
    - Return
    - Magical Leaf

    465.png
    Tangrowth, lv. 51
Timid // Chlorophyll // Razor Fang
    - Brick Break
    - Slam
    - Mega Drain
    - Shock Wave

    460.png
    Abomasnow, lv. 44
Serious // Snow Warning // NeverMeltIce
    - Water Pulse
    - Iron Tail
    - Ice Shard
    - Rock Climb

    407.png
    Roserade, lv. 43
Gentle // Poison Point // Luck Incense
    - Giga Drain
    - Cut
    - Petal Dance
    - GrassWhistle

IMO, this is a pretty darn solid Grass-team. In the beginning, I had planned on having Cherrim on my team - However, I quickly ditched the poor guy, because his movepool was, well... Disappointingly limited. I swore I would never have a Roserade on my team, but thank God I changed my mind in the end. Furthermore, I didn't plan on having Tangrowth on my team, and I was unsure about Abomasnow. Nevertheless, things turned out really decent, methinks.

Fire Monotype Challenge: Parts 28 and 29 - Psychic and Poison; Rock and Dark

    Trainer Name: Seb
    Badges: 8
    Generation: II (on Crystal)
    Location: Indigo Plateau

    Battle Against Will
    :

    • I've always liked Will. The battle wasn't too bad. First Xatu went down to one Flamethrower. Slowbro went down to two Thunderpunches, and he used used the turn to Amnesia up. Thank goodness for Thunderpunch in TM form. Second Xatu took 2 hits. Still easy.
    • Jynx and Exeggutor were lulz. The great part about Monotype runs is when you run into a type that's completely weak to yours. You can wreck stuff up.
    Battle Against Koga:

    • I always forget that Koga exists. He was never that memorable. Mainly because he was easy. Ariados and Venomoth are just plain hilarious. And Forretress went down to one Flame Wheel. A Flame Wheel for goodness sakes. And Muk went down to one Earthquake. One.
    • Paralyzed Crobat with Thunderpunch. Thought that was amusing. And he is fully paralyzed. Hah! Wait... did Tyson just outspeed Crobat? Man am I overleveled.
    Battle Against Bruno:

    • Bruno has lava in his room. That's epic.
    • Hooray! They stopped the 1HKOing! Now we have 2HKOs at last! Arwen gained a level.
    • Thank goodness for Earthquake. Rock types mean nothing to me!
    • Machamp is a jerk. His Critical'd Rock Slide killed Arwen. And Hitmonlee got in a Critical'd Hi Jump Kick on Tyson. There was a lot of criticals in this round. I first got a critical Earthquake on the first Onix. Then Machamp destroyed Arwen with a critical Rock Slide. Then I brought in Tyson and he took a critical Hi Jump Kick. Hitmonchan got in a critical Mach Punch (which still did nothing), and Tyson finished off Hitmonchan with a critical Flame Wheel. Geez.
    • Stop gaining levels, Tyson! You're way beyond Arwen!
    Battle Against Karen:

    • Karen's room is also cool. It's a black pit of nothingness.
    • Lack of Levitate in so wonderful. Earthquake + Gengar = amazing. I wish I had this in my second FireRed run. Darn Agatha and her stupid Gengar.
    • Houndoom is also awesome. I guess Karen is just made of win. Her final quote about using your favorites is also amazing.
Yay for being so overleveled the Elite Four is easy! I have a feeling that I'm going to need the overleveling next game, though.

Already planning for my next gen playthrough because Kanto is going to go by ridiculously fast. I should be worrying about Red... but... naaah. I'm worrying about my next game, since I'm going to be playing through Emerald (with Wallace as the Champion) because I'm masochistic or something like that. Sapphire and Ruby would be too easy. I beat Steven with just a Blaziken when I was 8 years old.

I'm disappointed in the amount of awesome Fire types in Hoenn. We have Blaziken, Camerupt, Magcargo, Torkoal, and Ninetales, and I refuse to use Camerupt or Magcargo. I don't need a team member with a 4x weakness to Water, geez. And Torkoal is just plain slow. I'd wait for a Vulpix, but my Blaziken would probably be ridiculously overleveled by then, and I don't know if I want to train another Vulpix. Sigh.

Edit: Found out that Houndour is available in the Safari Zone in Emerald. Jumped for joy. Read a little more. Realized that you can only get one after the Elite Four. Cried.

Fire Monotype Challenge: Part 30 - Fire and Dragons

    Trainer Name: Seb
    Badges: 8
    Generation: II (on Crystal)
    Location: Indigo Plateau

    Battle Against Lance
    :

    • Lance is awesome. So is his cape. So is his music. Gyarados took 1 Thunderpunch to the face. Hooray for 4x weakness!
    • Aerodactyl worries me. He has Rock Slide which... whuh?! Tyson is faster than Aerodactyl? That just shows how overleveled I am. And Thunderpunch 1HKOd? Y'serious?
    • Hyper Beam only does about a third. Dragonite paralyzed Arwen and Tyson, but I kept it on just for a bit of extra challenge. And... Tyson's Thunderpunch paralyzed the second Dragonite. Huh. That's nice.
    • Thunderpunch left Charizard with about 2HP. That's lame... Thunderpunch paralyzed Charizard too? No way! And Lance didn't heal up Charizard, either.
    • I decided to leave the last Dragonite to Arwen. She's only one level above this one, as opposed to Tyson who is at Level 56... Outrage does a lot. And paralysis is getting annoying. After turns of healing and Extremespeeding, I ran out. Finally won with a Critical Dragonbreath. Yes! That was easier than I expected.
    • Catchy music time!
    Team:
Tyson is Level 56. Arwen is Level 51. End.

    • Made it to Kanto. Defeated Lt. Surge. Earthquake ftw! Thank goodness the trash can puzzle is gone.
    • Made it to Saffron. Defeated Sabrina. The trainers and gym leaders in Kanto are so eas.
    • Made it to Celadon. Erika was a joke. Finally got Flamethrower on Tyson!
    • Went through the Rock Tunnel to Cerulean.
    • Met the amazing Rocket Grunt who can't speak English. Got the Machine Part. Returned it. Everyone is happy!
    • Defeated Misty. Thunderpunch ftw. Also, thank goodness for Special Thunderpunch in this generation. Typhlosion isn't the best with Physical attacks.
    • Went down the Cycling Road to Fuschia. Janine is lulz. Seriously. Her Pokemon are in the 30s? Really? Really, Janine?
    • Went up the Silence Bridge back to Lavender and got the EXPN Card thing. Woke up Snorlax and tried to catch it with a Pokeball. Failed and just KOd it with Tyson.
    • Went through the Diglett Tunnel and arrived at Pewter. Defeated Brock. Even Rock types can't stand up to my awesome team.
    • Went on the road to Viridian City and then to Pallet. Got to Cinnabar and showed Blaine who the real master of Fire Pokemon is.
    • Went back to Viridian and defeated Blue, which was actually a fun battle. Sort of. I guess.
    • I currently have 631103 dollars. I'm the richest teenager ever! Shopping spree... again! Bought 99 Max Potions just for the hell of it. I'm easily amused. I still have way more money than I'll ever need.
    • Gave 5 Rare Candies to Tyson and Arwen, not to make the upcoming fight easier, but as a reward because they're just so awesome.

Fire Monotype Challenge: Part 36 -VS Red

    Trainer Name: Seb
    Badges: 16
    Generation: II (on Crystal)
    Location: New Bark Town

    Battle Against Red
    :

    • It's time to face the most epic trainer ever. First up is Pikachu. I know it's fragile, but it's also fast... Tyson outsped it? Really? I've noticed a trend of Tyson outspeeding Pokemon that really should be faster than Tyson. Oh well. Earthquake is a 1HKO. Pikachu down.
    • Next up is Espeon. I switched over to Arwen. I started with a Return, and Espeon set up a Reflect, so I used Flamethrower next. Espeon down.
    • Next up is... Blastoise already?! He usually saves Blastoise for his last Pokemon. No fair. I switched back to Tyson and use a Thunderpunch. He used the turn to Rain Dance up. I know from experience that a Rain Dance'd Surf can 1HKO a Typhlosion (past playthroughs), but Thunderpunch got its health to the yellow, so I tried it again, and... it left Blastoise with 1 HP! He used Surf and Tyson was left with 22 HP. Thank goodness. Luckily, he didn't heal, and I finished it with Return. It was a Critical Hit too. Thanks a lot, game. *sarcasm* Blastoise down.
    • Snorlax is up next. Return and Extremespeed do only about a fourth or fifth. Body Slam is also a 2HKO on Arwen. It paralyzed me, too. And Red finally decided to use his Full Restore. Finished it with a few more Extremespeeds, including a Critical Hit. Snorlax down.
    • Next is Charizard. I use Extremespeed while he uses Flamethrower. I Hyper Potion'd up, and rinsed and repeated. Return finished it off next turn. Charizard down.
    • Last up is Venusaur. I decided to give Tyson the honors. I used a Max Potion on him (just in case) while Venusaur started charging up for a Solarbeam. I tried a Flamethrower and it was a 1HKO! Venusaur down!
    • Red is defeated and he just disappears. I love how he stays silent.
I flew to Cherrygrove and released my HM Slaves. Bellsprout, Tyrogue, Pidgey, and the Red Gyarados. I'm sure they'll have fun in Cherrygrove. I walked back to New Bark and went to my room. I probably have enough money to last me for two life times. I decided to set up a Charmander and Clefairy Doll, just for the heck of it. So, my Johto journey is done. Tyson and Arwen. You were awesome.
