  • Username - CharmedGardy

    Partner Pokemon - Treecko

    Favourite Grass Type- Whimsicott

Reason for joining - They grow very fast and many of them are very cute.

Favourite Grass Gym Leader/Specialist - Gardenia - She uses a Roserade despite being only the second gym in, acknowledges the (unfortunate) weaknesses of the Grass Type and seems stronger than Erika and Ramos. She always gave me trouble in the PWT in White 2 especially Tangrowth.

    Answer Topics

Name one Pokemon that should be Grass-type

Florges. It is a giant flower and looks like a Grass/Fairy Type.

If you could fuse two Grass Types

I'd fuse Bellossom and Whimsicott. The form would be a Green Whimsicott with flowers in it's hair and a leaf skirt.

If you could be a Grass Gym Leader, what would your team be and what would your Gym look like?

Gym would be lots of green and flowers with Venus Fly traps blocking the way until you have beaten the corresponding trainers. (Pokemon Rangers)

My team would be (5th Gym) Whimsicott, Meganium and Sceptile
My rematch team would be: Bellossom, Meganium, Tangrowth, Roserade, Whimsicott, Mega Sceptile (Shiny)

My Gym Leader character would have long Honey-Brown hair and a green and red sundress. She would be female but I haven't decided on a name, Naomi maybe.

  • Well there's Flint from the Sinnoh region Pokémon League who uses an Infernape! {XD}

    Who's your favorite Grass-type specialist? :)

Yes, that's a new topic for you! xD
I haven't played any of the Sinnoh games, so I had no idea. xD

Favorite Grass type specialist...hmm...I gotta say, probably Cilan. I dunno why exactly, but maybe it's because I started watching the anime during Ash's Unova travels and my first game was White version.

I'm so happy you joined this club! :')

Whimsicott is already awesome for being a prankster! Though I'm not sure of Whimsicott becoming a Fairy-type, while it gains a lot of resistances and immunity. She isn't bulky enough to stand for a lot of moves. Bullet Punch isn't good to her either. :(

True, most Grass-types are easy to raise! They are also handy only in-game, which is sad.

Gardenia with a Roserade sort of mirrors Misty with a Starmie. :') They are both tough Pokémon, specially at that stage. @_@ Tangrowth can be nasty! Tangela is also noted for being a strong Pokémon in Little Cup!

I guess Florges can be good with the Grass/Fairy typing, but she couldn't really counter most of her weakness and that defensive stats needs to be toughen up. :)

    Then 'Bellosicott' is gonna have a rivalry with Lilligant! {XD}

    At least you aren't forcing the Rangers to hide in huge Venus flytraps! {XD}

That makes sense! It's evaluating time! Urrr... I mean it's time for a new topic. :P

Who wants to make a new topic? If none, then I'll make one tomorrow, around this hour! (Just make sure to check back the thread).

EDIT: Rain, I'm letting you pick a second partner for being active here.~

    A second partner? Yay~ I'd like a Skiddo!
Also, how many posts have I made? Has my Snivy evolved yet, and how many more posts would it take to get a Servine to evolve?

I guess I'll make a new topic again. Let's see...I wanna make this good...
Which Grass type with no evolutionary line do you think deserves either a basic form or an evolved form? Why

My answer to this is Carnivine. I think there's potential there for it to evolve into something like a Grass/Dark type, or have a basic form that represents the first stage of a venus flytrap's life. Or have both.

  • Imagine yourself being a Grass-type Gym Leader/Elite Four. How would your gym/room look like? What would your team be?

I'd be in the Elite four. Maybe I'd have an ancient looking gym. Broken concrete with plants growing out of them. Some waterfall nearby to meditate. :P
Team is Whimsicott, Ferrothorn, Mega Venasaur, Breloom, Leafeon, and Lilligant.

Favorite grass type specialist had to be Erica. I'm keeping it old school. xD

Which Grass type with no evolutionary line do you think deserves either a basic form or an evolved form? Why
Tropius. You could give him a stage 1 form and even have tropius evolve into something else.
I feel like it needs to be stronger for a grass/flying. Though thick fat is always nice.

I'd like to see Parasect get another evolution. When's the last time you saw one? xD
    Sunflora too. xD

    s

Grass is my third favourite type. (Behind Psychic and Fairy)

I am not sure Whimsicott getting a second type helped it a lot. The big issue is Grass having so many weaknesses already. A resistance to Dark and Dragons is nice but moves like acid are now very Problematic. Whimsicott getting a second type means Lilligant should have also got a secondary type.

Lilligant has a great design for me but I am struggling to think of a second typing. It can't really become Grass/Fairy too. Maybe Grass/Psychic and say the flower on it's head enables it to get Psychic powers.

What I liked about Gardenia most was it showed that not all Grass Type leaders are Aroma Lady Flower Girls like Erika was.(I do like Erika's design a lot too however) It showed Grass Leaders could be strong as well.

I think it would be a pretty good Gym. Maybe I'd have an Army of trainers like there are in Flannery's Gym.

    Onto the question

Tropius - At the moment it is a Grass-type that is just there. A baby form (Pretty much a smaller version) could help interest but an evolution is the way to go. Not sure what it would like though

    Rain and Gothet's fascination over Venus flytraps.{XD}

    Done adding the Skiddo! :) A total of 9 posts is needed to evolve Snivy. Once you have reach the amount you need to tell me if you wanna evolve it or not, I won't evolve it automatically! It's not like everyone wants to evolve their Pokémon! {XD}

I love that topic and I'll response later!~ I can borrow it over my Flying-type and perhaps Psychic-type Club! :D
Gothet, your favorite types are related to sweet and mysterious beings! :3c^_^
Spot on with Whimiscott's second typing problem.~ I was thinking about that too, tbh. Let's see it has immunity to Dragon types and resistances for Fighting and Dark-type moves, which all are common moves and types in the competitive field.~ While the number of her weaknesses have an increased as an unfortunate exchange. Formerly she has Flying, Bug, Poison, Fire and Ice moves as her weaknesses with the last two as common moves in competitive. From Gen VI and beyond, the Bug-type weakness turned into neutral. While four has retained and a x2 for Poison-type moves. :( Additionally, she gained a Steel-type weakness to which I expressed my concern over Bullet Punch.

If she's an all out speedy offensive Pokémon like Weavile, it would help her. But as a supporter Pokémon with not so impressive defensive stats. She's gonna suffer.

Wow that Elite Four chamber of yours reminds me of Palace Maven Spenser from Pokémon Emerald!

Seems like Tropius is a popular choice eh? :D

Oh yes Parasect! I totally forgot its existence. *struck with spores*

That Sunflora is a Pokémon with miserable fate, she's a poor thing.

I went through and counted every single post I've made on this thread. {XD} I have made a total of 18 posts (19, if my acceptance request form, or whatever you wanna call it, counts) which is enough for me to evolve both Emerald and Gary -- I mean, Snivy and Skiddo! Unless it takes 9 posts for Snivy, then a separate 16 for Skiddo. Anyway, if I can evolve both, I would like to do so. And if I can only evolve one, I'd like to evolve Snivy. Now...how many posts would it take for Servine to evolve? EDIT: With this post, I have made 19 (20 if the acceptance request form counts).

To be honest, I have never, ever once battled with a Cottonee or Whimsicott. I love the new change in typing though, because it makes them easier to defeat in battle. >:)

Why wouldn't Tropius be popular? It's a giant, flying grass dinosaur with a banana beard! XD

I tried going through SoulSilver with a Parasect. Ehhhh...

Never battled with a Sunkern or Sunflora either.

So the Psychic-type Club has an event going on, it's Psychic Monotype Challenge to be exact and Flying-type Club is planning something the same.
    Current topic:
Shall we start a Grass-type Monotype Challenge? Why
If you're supportive of it, which games* should we consider?

*(In case of hacked games, make sure the game at least allows us to complete the main plot and compete for the Pokémon League.)

  • WARNING: With the start of school, I'll probably become less active.

As for the topic, if one is started I'm not sure I'd take it. I already have a Poison Monotype Challenge planned for OR, which is currently the only game I own that I don't mind deleting the save file and restarting.

It's alright just try to show at least once a month and it's cool you're telling us about it. :)

It's sad that you couldn't take part, but we can always make an another form of event! :)

  • I don't want to sound repetitive, but I never got an answer to my question, and last I checked the member list, I saw no change in my Pokemon's forms, soooo... I have made 21 (counting this) posts to this threat, which is enough to evolve both my Snivy and my Skiddo. Unless it takes 9 posts for Snivy, then a separate 16 for Skiddo. Anyway, if I can evolve both, I would like to do so. And if I can only evolve one, I'd like to evolve Snivy. Now...how many posts would it take for a Servine to evolve?

I'm sorry, I admit I'm too focus with the Psychic-type Club and Flying-type even comes as the second priority. That's why I missed it.

Post count stacks and Servine takes a total of 18 posts to evolve, there is no need to recount the post count for evolved Pokémon that can evolve.

I am planning to do a Grass Monotype at some point once I have finished my Psychic Type Challenge. I am unsure whether to do an Alpha Sapphire run or find a copy of Black 2 to run through Unova again...Skyla will be a real challenge on a Grass Monotype.

I think Hoenn has a lot of Grass Pokémon to offer, but I could be wrong.
Let me make a list of it tomorrow. :)

    Let's see:

    Treecko Line
    Oddish Line
    Lotad Line (Alpha Sapphire only)
    Seedot Line (Omega Ruby only)
    Tropius
    Cottonee line (Post-game)
    Shroomish Line
    Cacnea Line
    Roselia Line

I think there are a few more but that's a solid range of Grass Types off the top of my head

I know this may sound strange but whenever I use a Roselia it has to be Female.

Sidney uses a Cacturne and a Shiftry in his team...Does that make him a secret Grass Type User?

This is me as well. It seems like there are so many Grass-types I view as feminine for some reason, likely because most of them have cute appearances or something. In fact every time I used Roselia's evolution line in a playthrough I always intentionally caught a female.

But as for that list, it is impressive that Hoenn has a lot of Grass-types in its Dex alone. I guess it's likely so that you have something that counters a lot of Water-types (even Ground to a lesser extent) that you'll be running into around the watery areas.

    Let's see...
    Kanto based games
Bulbasaur line, Tangela, Bellsprout line, Exeggcute line, Paras line, Oddish line (Bellossom is only available in Gen III games, additionally National Dex is needed),

    Johto based games
Bulbasaur line, Bellsprout line, Exeggcute line, Oddish line , Hoppip line, Chikorita line, Paras line, Sunkern line, Tangela, Tangrowth , Leafeon (needs help from a Sinnoh based game)

Bold names indicate they are only available in Gen IV games.
Italic names indicate they can be only caught by trading from Gen I games.

    Hoenn based games
Tropius, Treecko line, Seedot line, Lotad line, Shroomish line, Cacnea line, Oddish line, Lileep line, Roselia line (Budew and Roserade are only available in Gen VI games)

    Sinnoh based games
Budew line, Turtwig line, Cherubi line, Snover line, Wormadam, Tropius, Leafeon, Tangela line, Carnivine

Bold names indicate they are only available in Platinum normally, they can be found and caught during pre-National Dex.

    Unova based games
Snivy line, Sewaddle line, Cottonee line, Deerling line, Foongus line, Maractus line, Pansage line, Petilil line, Ferroseed line, Carnivine, Budew line, Tangela line, Tropius, Sunkern line, Leafeon (Post-game)

Bold names indicate they are only available in Black 2 and White 2 versions normally.

Any hacks are welcomed as long as they provide a wide variety of Grass-type Pokémon. In case of non-Grass types edited as Grass-types, they can be used. While Grass-types that are no longer part of the said type cannot be used.

So I can evolve Servine right away? Sweet! I'd like to do that!

Done, please pick a new partner.

Even the name 'Roselia' sounds feminine. :)
