Wow, what a long poem. XD It was interesting though, with great rhythm.
hah, thanks. (Also, Midori Chi, I love your avatar and sig! I adore Sailor Moon...and I can only assume you remember who the character is in my avatar ;)). But if you think that's long, you should read my poem called "The Fox and the Hares" - my third ode to Lewis Carrol (my all-time favorite poet), but about 10x more morbid. That was my longest poem ever: 25 4-line stanzas.
I guess I can post my most notorious poem that I wrote roughly two years ago for the Valentine's Day edition of the school newspaper. Yet again, it was rejected. I've only ever had one poem accepted into anything the high school published, and I'll post that one someday, if you guys like my stuff.
Anyways, this piece is a shorter waltz, and slightly subtle. It's a satire on "love" and the entire concept of "the union of two souls", ie: marriage, or whatever else comes to mind when you hear that. I call it...
"Let Us Be One (a love poem)"
Let's be together now, dear
For the night has just begun
I am quite hungry for you
So why not let us be one?
Your taste would be complete, love
But I've cooked you far too long
You loved the wine I'm drinking
So why don't you go along?
I can't handle all your love
And swallow it while it's whole
Instead I shall substitute
All your entrails in a bowl
You have never seemed your best
You've never looked so great
I'll read
The Joy of Cooking
While your head is on my plate
I'm sorry now you're gone, dear
I would think we are quite through
Something I'll never make, though
Are reservations... for two
