I'm just disappointed about this whole situation in general. I mean, based on how TV has been since, Punk leaving isn't seeming to really affect programming. Who knows how things'll turn out with negotiations... But in the meantime and in between time, the wheel's gonna keep on turning, with or without him. Daniel Bryan is now placed (back?) in the Authority story, and Kane (Punk's last feud) is focused on that. So, the only people Punk leaving will really affect, are the fans.
Obviously, there are a lot of theories/rumours on why he left. Not liking part-timers being brought in, didn't like the stories he was in, tired/hurting, not getting the WrestleMania main event... Well, if he felt too worn out and he was getting too little for what he was giving, I understand. The fans are chanting "C-M-PUNK!" and "WE-WANT-PUNK!" because they obviously want CM Punk there... But if CM Punk doesn't want CM Punk there, because wrestling/the schedule is taking a toll on him, then we shouldn't really want that... He does deserve a break, absolutely.
... But, if he left because he feels that what he's done in the past year should warrant him the WrestleMania 30 main event, and he won't settle for anything less, then I'm not sure how I feel. Of course, creative has control over what he does across the year, and his year since WM29 (for the most part) wasn't bad. He's had good stories (Undertaker, Brock, Shield) and some not-so-good stories (Rybaxel). But I'm not sure if being a workhorse alone warrants him a WrestleMania main event, like he (allegedly) feels it does. It's not like a feud with Triple H (his rumoured WM30 match) is terrible, either. I just don't think it's fair to the fans that (if this really is the reason he left) he leaves because he feels he should be greatly awarded for his... Well, IMO, not-as-great year.
My head hurts.
